Phoenix Chinese Restaurant

Hi we tried the Phoenix restaurant on Friday evening. We were looking for a Chinese restaurant in the area as we are from London. For starters we had spring rolls, they were amazing, freshly cooked and home made. For the mains my husband had sizzling chicken with egg fried rice. The chicken was lovely, the egg fried rice was good however it could do with maybe some spring onion to add a little more flavour. I being vegetarian had boiled rice and vegetables in black bean sauce. I must say that the vegetables were really fresh and the chef had used a variety of vegetables including asparagus which is rare. We finished off with a coffee. Overall it was amazing and great value for money. Maybe they could do garlic fried rice and a couple more vegetarian starters. Also would be good to have a dessert menu. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area. The owner was lovely and very helpful.

My partner and I had honey ribs as a starter. Very nice forgot to take a picture. For main I had rice and fried chicken in plum sauce. It was nice, the portion of chicken was a little big for me, but you can take it home. My partner had Salt and pepper prawns. It's a small restaurant, but the are very accommodating, pleasant, friendly and very quick service. I had a small taster of wine before deciding if I wanted a glass, which I did. Overall, would visit again!

We can honestly say that we haven't enjoyed a Chinese meal as much in years and years. I used to eat there back in the 80's when the food was always excellent. It still is and I am delighted ! For a takeaway meal it was amazingly fresh and vibrant. Well done and thank you. We'll be ordering again very soon.

Really nice Chinese restaurant we decided to have a take out but to be honest when we went to collect it the place is lovely. Nice and romantic with a really good posh feel to it. We ordered the banquet for 4 and the duck. To be totally honest there was way too much food for us. But all the flavours were there and we would certainly go again thank you

I went there with a small party of friends and we had a lovely meal – most of us are vegetarians, and on request we had our special wishes met. It is a pleasant and bright space, nicely decorated with lovely fresh flowers on the tables. Service was efficient, keeping themselves visible in the background, but never imposing. Hope to get back there on another occasion.
