Blackhouse - The Grill On The Square

Absolutely fantastic, food 100% delicious and displayed wonderfully on the plates when delivered, staff are Absolutely wonderful happy be there and always friendly. High prices but worth it for the quality of the food. Steak cooked medium rare amazingly. Highly recommend the duck liver parfait and the rump steak.

Fantastic place! Great food excellent cocktails and absolutely amazing staff. Me and my boyfriend went to celebrate our anniversary and valentine's all in one, the place was packed and every server apologised for the waiting between drinks and courses. They even gave us our desserts for free due to the long waits (super polite and kind). The food was so good we would definitely come again. The only fault is that we were situated right by the doors so every time it opened we got the full brunt of the cold ❄️ But all in all a brilliant place Thank you for your excellent service

Steak (fillet) was nicely cooked, but not very flavoursome in itself, and the peppercorn sauce wasn't to my taste, but the sticky toffee pudding was delicious... And the cocktails were also gorgeous...so strongly recommend these items. Service was excellent, with the waiter, Dom, going above and beyond and I was absolutely happy to pay the service charge for him! We were able to sit outside with our dog because it wasn't busy and they were the only steak place out of about 4 we tried that would accommodate us with that. He ate chicken and loved it!

Absolutely beautiful food, everyone at our table got a beautiful tasty meal, steaks cooked exactly how we expected. Good portion sizes, and amazing desserts. Went and tried the panna cotta and was stunning. Definitely one of the best sticky toffee puddings ive had, and the ice cream was quality, didn’t melt too quick. Service…. Kitty looked after us amazingly, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

My first impressions of Blackhouse were beautiful exteriors and interiors. Comfy seats and nice atmosphere. Staff were attentive but beware the 12% service charge, which in all fairness was pointed out to me before I paid. Menu was good. I had an oak smoked and pear salad which was delicious and priced at £12.50. We shared a lively houmous dip to start and my daughter had rump steak which although a little chewy was very tasty, £27. The steak didn’t come with anything though which I found surprising at that price. All in all very nice but pricey.
