Went for Eid celebration.
Was seen to quickly, but floor service was poor, I had to wait for my drinks to come after I had my starter and was beginning my main course.
The quality of food was good but price was not really worth it.
They definitely got it right as the restaurant is more for social media photos rather than food.
Fantastic decor, really tastefully done. Its fun, fresh and interesting. Fab location on the docks.
Loved the selfie booths & bike etc, loads of good photo opportunities.
The food is just as impressive. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful - genuinely seem like they want you to have a great experience.
Would definitely recommend for a good all round experience π
While in the UK do visit this place if you are looking for some east Asia food. Taste is 5/5. Service is quick and responsive staff. Yes I have one feedback for service. We had a booking at 5:30 but we had to wait for 20mins to get the reserved table. I think it should be ready before the customer has arrived. Mango smoothie was awsm and yummy.
We ordered the Grand Thaal which was enough for 6 of us, everything was spot on, the food, service levels, happy to report the tables were spotless as were the toilets, the restaurant was 60% full when we went, they should open one in London, will visit again when I'm in Leeds
Grand setting, vibrant atmosphere and well presented foods; no alcohol on premises π
1. Great food presentation: lots of creativity in food presentation; done the 'Grand Thaal' (karahi dishes usually spot on, chicken and chapali kebabs a little on the dry side IMHO) π All bit on the pricey side but good overall value for money for those special occasions π
Nice variety of mock tails, classic mango lassi (on the less sweet side); desserts are worth a dabble, usually presented in large plates / rasmalai always a hit for us π
2. Plenty of seating arrangements: designed to host for a variety of people, couples to large wedding parties; very busy most evenings, book in advance if possible π
3. Good customer service: gets very busy so you may need to remind your waiter / waitress re any pressing items π
4. Prayer room facilities: dedicated room, enough for 5 people congregation
5. Dedicated and secured parking: free for customers, manned by security guard; then do 1-2 min walk to establishment π
We ordered lamb tava, chaat, naan and pina colada. Lamb tava serving was generous for 2-3 people. Taste was good.
The pina colada tasted mediocre... I thought it will have chunky fruit but nope. Pina colada was 9Β£ something- I donβt recommend. Over all, nice view and decent food.
Very nice and vibrant atmosphere good for hanging out with friends or family. Authentic Pakistani food served in a unique manner and spiced according to your taste. The mix grill is definitely a must try especially if going with a group. Service was quick and efficient and the place is very clean and kids friendly. Bit expensive but worth it. And the food is Halal.
A very different experience to the small dimly-lit restaurants I'd usually frequent but the bright lighting and brash decor doesn't detract from the excellent service and really good food.
Given every table was full and the whole place had a real buzz about it's clear they're doing something right even if none of the many photo friendly props was being used during our visit.
I'd usually run a mile from anywhere that professes to be "The Selfe Restaurant" but thankfully it wasn't packed with self-obsessed photographers but just many people enjoying great meals.
It's odd to not have alcohol but the constantly refreshed water made for a really nice change.
Go for the decor, it's really something else, and marvel at the size of the place (with a perfume shop!) but above all try the food, it's very good.
A great place in our great North. Went here for a family get-together, and the decor hits you first. Imagine Louis XIV asking Gianni Versace to decorate his dining room, and you'll get my drift! (The restaurant serves a dish called Chicken Versace, btw π). The food is excellent, plentiful, and tasty. The service was really good too. The place was busy but worth a visit. Like a certain Austrian born actor said.. I'll be back...
Second visit and now I have a firm picture of Mumtaz in my mind. The food is good but nothing special and the prices are *very* high. Wait on staff smile and nod a lot but they aren't listening, completely on auto pilot. I wouldn't go again. Oh, the mango lassi is excellent but it should be at almost Β£7 a glass the basic cheeseburger at Β£16 had been mixed for so long that it was a solid block of meat, almost like i'd imagine tyre rubber to be.
