Shuang Hsi

I have used this takeaway for years and years, and seen it pass through many owners over those years. Honestly, I only order the Beef Curry & Boiled Rice. Having said that, the dish is usually of an excellent quality, tasty, spicy and cooked perfectly, however it does fluctuate slightly in standard and I have occasionally been delivered the wrong item, but that is very, very rare. I used to have this one dish delivered regularly, but was disappointed that their delivery threshold was increased so much that I would now have to order at least two dishes, to get delivery, which I don't usually want. I don't live all that far away, either. My biggest, and probably sole criticism is the reception area. This used to be homely, in typical oriental takeaway style, nice decoration, plants and a tv (entertainment, should one have to wait). Now, it's just a bland white, uninviting wall with glass screens. To me, it is slightly reminiscent of somewhere one might claim ones dole money from, through a security hatch. I think, now it is post pandemic, this should be removed and made more customer friendly once again, even if it might also be there for security reasons. I would think, like many takeaways that in warm weather the back door is sometimes left wide open anyway for ventilation, compromising any security, so come on Shuang Hsi. I love the food I order, but make the place welcoming once more. Thank you

Order regularly from here and the food is always great. There is the rare time when an order isn't quite right but they are always happy to resolve quickly. They always take note of our order notes as well l. Really nice and friendly staff, great customer service and fair prices for the area. Highly recommend.
