We eat here quite often and would definately recommend. The pub is always clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and the home made food is excellent with good portion sizes.

Cracking out the way old school roadhouse type bar in between Buxton and leek. 2 ales on when I went . One was a dizzy duck? From a Derbyshire brewery which was lovely. Ran by the same couple for years. Really good service behind the bar. Everyone was chatty and friendly. Has a function room which hosts various nights of entertainment including a regular rock night (last Friday of each month) and has a pool table and darts board. Lovely home cooked pub grub at reasonable prices. Hearty portions that does the job! Massive flat carpark for stop overs. Couple pitches have hook up and you can empty waste( cost depends on what you need) biker friendly. very highly recommended 🍻 🛻 🏍️ 🥘 🍻 🎱 🎯 🎤 🎶
Wow beautiful good old fashioned country pub . Set in tje most beautiful area. The staff were very friendly warm cozy atmosphere and tje food was FIRST CLASS very good produce and delicious. Well worth a visit
The food was overall 4 star, it was served to us on time, cooked to perfection and exactly as we ordered it. The portions where of a good size and well presented.
As a side note:
- The facilities where clean and fully stocked.
- The staff where very busy tonight due to an event however they still had the time to be polite, helpful and it did not seem like the food and the waiting times suffered.
Good pub No rip off price's,at the bar, Had not been for almost two years, The Rock night is mainly CLASSIC ROCK so don't expect a lot of NEW Rock bands like Gin Annie, Those Damn Crows or Hailstorm, FOOD ,, One time I went to Burger van outside the venue got COLD chips and COLD burger so that needs improvement me thinks ,,Good rock night out worth the trip if you Like rock music like I do
Had our wedding reception here, the team couldn’t have been more helpful, we did our own buffet but Julie and the team did a vegan /veggie chilli and pulled pork baps with all the trimmings for a hot option. Super atmosphere and friendly staff
Great place to stop over for the night in a campervan £10 a night without electric hook up. Great food and service. Clean toilet open 24 hours and gray waist deposal.
A really good night, with a fun relaxed atmosphere and great rock band. Drink quality and service is brilliant. If you're looking for a good night out that's not going to cost you a mortgage then I recommend here
Great Sunday lunch had pudding as well.The car park is better now,shame it had to close when covid was around,missed it. Great now it,s open now,all best to the staff and owner's
The Winking man is a pub that serves nice food in the day and has an entertainment room that hosts a Rock Night on the last Friday of each month and various other musical nights. We'll worth a visit for a meal or a beer and definitely good if you want a night out with the best Rock music playing.
Called in on the off chance as we were passing and I'm glad that we did, greeted by a lovely smiling young lady behind the bar, we asked for a table and were guided to the table and we sat down and before we could ask for a menu there they were in our hands.
We ordered our drinks 1/2 of shandy, and then looked through the menu, I ordered the Texas burger which is a great burger topped with pulled pork, and the wife had chicken salad with a warm dressing, from the first bite to the last it was one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life, I highly recommend the Winking Man Pub as the menu has a choice for everyone's palate, you will not be disappointed, 10/10
