A real gem. We were looking for somewhere special for a ‘friends reunion’ and this delivered in every aspect. We had the tasting menu and it was delicious. Full of flavour and not too spicy (I’m sure they could adjust this for different tastes). The staff were all exceptionally friendly and explained all the courses. All agreed it was the best Indian meal we had ever had (and we are all very well travelled).

Pratik is a wonderful host and very passionate about his food. It shows in each dish and his enthusiasm is infectious. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu (you need to email in advance) and it was exceptional. We are foodies and have had lots of tasting menus in Michelin star restaurants and this was certainly up there. The amount of food is the most we’ve ever had for a tasting menu, do not eat at all the day you go!! It was 3 hours, we opted for a 6pm sitting. It’s a very relaxed setting and the waiter (I didn’t get his name) was also lovely and very friendly. We are very much looking forward to returning!

The food was excellent. The atmosphere and surroundings were great. The host was friendly and attentive. Delicious taster bites in between courses. Would recommend without reservation

It’s not the first time we’ve visited Lilu and that’s because it is SO good. They have outstanding, fresh, tasty food and wonderful service from all the staff who make you feel welcome as soon as you step inside. Two courses are £35 or three for £39. Book yourself in to make sure you get a table. They also offer tasting menus and other options so it’s worth checking out their website. We had the soft shell crab and salmon with mango and mint, the chicken tikka and lamb cutlets kebabs with a blue cheese naan, a medium chicken dish with a tasty sweet sauce and potatoes, duck with a medium spiced sauce with rice and various exciting sides, we also had three of the Lilu special naans and the papadums with an assortment of chutneys. To finish we had the chocolate ganache dessert which was so tasty. This place is a definite must try in Leicester! You will not regret it.

Pratik always greets us with the warmest of welcomes no matter how long it’s been since our last visit. The food it always delicious and varied allowing you to get a real taste of some wonderful dishes that you might not have typically come across at another Indian restaurant. Dining is casual yet refined and the pace is such that you are not made to feel rushed and can relax and enjoy every mouthful. Always a treat and well worth a visit if you’ve not tried the place!

This place is only open on Friday & Saturday night but is a really nice restaurant in the town. I believe they only do the tasting menu which was superb although pricey at £59 ph. But despite that, it was really good. Each course was introduced to us by the owner.

I almost don't want to give Lilu more praise as getting a table is tough already but for all the right reasons. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel exceptionally welcome. The staff were all very knowledgable and attentive without making you feel watched. The food arrived at a relaxed pace and was nothing short of sensational. This is most definitely not your usual indian restaurant. Both the food and service live up to it's Fine Dining strap line but in a friendly and informal setting. Absolutely incredible value for money, can't wait to return.

My family and I are huge fans of Lilu’s gorgeous cuisine. We have lived in Leicester for 25yrs & never quite found the Indian we were looking for....until now. Ingredients are of the highest quality, and each dish cooked with skill and love. Just this weekend we devoured lamb chop curry (with lamb so meltingly tender), chicken curry (proper home cooked like our Indian relatives make), and beetroot paneer. Clean plates all round including the little ones - say no more! Pratik and his team design and deliver the menu with passion, knowledge of flavour and a gift for Indian cooking and service that treats every customer like part of his own family. Like so many reviewers we too are foodies & have been lucky enough to visit Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Andrew Fairlie & Fat Duck etc.....well we now count ourselves lucky that we have truly found our top notch Indian on our doorstep.

We went here for my birthday. I've not lived here long but I know Leicester is well known for a good curry! This place kept popping up on social media and the menu sounded so different to other Indian restaurants in the area. It pays homage to Indian cuisine with a nod to British fine dining and it's incredible! The owners are fantastic, so personable and will take time out of their busy schedule to have a chat but equally, if you're not the kind that's what a chat - they see this and respect that you're there to enjoy the exquisite food! The food itself is made with such love and passion that's it's hard not to want to spend all your going out money for the month here! I wanted to try everything, not because I have a big appetite but because Lilu does big flavours, unique takes and wholesome food. If you're looking for somewhere that serves great Indian food and who's hosts have a passion for what they do. Look no further. It's my favourite place to go out for dinner in Leicester. The small menu makes a great change to most restaurants, especially most Indian restautants - Too much on a menu means the quality can sometimes drop. Not at Lilu! Pratik and his wife open up this restaurant and make it an extension of their home and I love it. If you're in Leicester, try it! Have an open mind, because it is such delightful food, but it won't be quiet what you expect, in the best way possible!!

This was more than just eating an Indian meal it was an experience to savour, having the taster menu was a delight but what made it specials was the little treats in between that kept the pallet guessing what would be next, and to know that the meals where contributing to help others were an unexpected bonus looking forward to going again when I can get a table.

This is not just a curry house! Forget every other indian meal you've ever had because this isnt just a meal, it's an experience. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed like old friends, with the staff super attentive. The attention to detail paid to the food is unreal, even the things that are normally overlooked as extras like poppadoms and dips were delicious. I had the soft shell crab that smelled mouthwatering and didnt disappoint upon eating it. Simply incredible and worth every penny

My partner and I visited Lilu for a meal on the Saturday night of their re-opening weekend. It’s not just a curry house. It’s a treat for the tastebuds with a charitable purpose, supporting the Feed The Hungry Mission. Pratik and Bee are fantastic hosts and are justifiably proud of their outstanding gastronomy. We left replete and inspired by food prepared with such attention to detail. Lilu is recommended unreservedly to foodies everywhere.

We took a friend here who has tried most of the Indian restaurants in Leicester. She was stunned by the uniqueness of the food. We had a lovely meal enhanced by the friendly and attentive staff. We felt we were members of the family by the time we left.

Every time I eat here I find a new favourite dish, but always I come back to the lamb. Whenever lamb appears in a dish it’s cooked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection, especially the chops. This time I had the kebab to start with and I’ll definitely have it again.

We had the previlage of dining for tasting event at Lilu's Leicester. We had a great warm welcome by polite and hospitable team. The whole experience was like a food adventure with with such nicely crafted and well cooked and great flood. The star of the evening was the hariyali salmon. It was Succulent and full of flavours. Finished up with great gajar halwa. Absolutely delightful. We will be back and tell all our friends.

Hired this lovely Indian restaurant for my 40th. In total there were 23 of us; with loads of kids of varying ages. From arrival the service was fantastic. Both Pratik and Bee went the extra mile to make me and my family feel welcome. The food.....just wow. It’s always a favourite of mine but risky when you recommend it to so many of your family who may have different tastes. Well I didn’t need to worry as the conversation over Sunday lunch today was all about last nights Indian food. Great way to celebrate as a family in a comfortable environment Book now!!

Two of us went for dinner. I had the lamb and he had the fish. My lamb was melt in the mouth deliciousness, served by very friendly staff. I also particularly enjoyed the little cup of soup that came between courses.
