You can bring your own booze which makes a big difference and we had a feast for just £10 each. Good old fashioned curry. Very hospitable. We didn't notice the time we were enjoying ourselves so much and stayed longer than we should but we're not made to feel uncomfortable

We were visiting Leicester to see our son and followed a recommendation to go to Nawaaz - so pleased we did! A bring your own alcohol restaurant, the staff are really friendly. Bright, clean and comfortable, we were welcomed in with complimentary poppadoms and pakora. A great choice of dishes, including a range of specialities. The mains arrived with complimentary aloo gobi, tarka dahl and chicken tikka - fabulous. The meal was then followed with complimentary ice cream, fresh orange and melon slices. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone.

Came here on a busy Saturday night after being turned away from a few other places in Leicester. They luckily had space for us and we were quickly seated and given complimentary poppadoms. Plenty of complimentary food given here, onion bhajis, fruit and ice cream at the end. We even had a free naan bread thrown in. The good that we did pay for was excellent and the portion sizes were perfect. The value for money is genuinely insane and I would highly recommend coming here. It’s not local to me, but if I’m in the area and hungry, I will be back

Food 8/10 Pickle tray & poppadoms brought to the table straight away. Pickle tray selection didn’t have a big variety having just mango chutney and a onion chutney. This was all complementary as well as a tray of onion & potato pakoras - which were lovely. Mains included a chicken korma, chicken tikka balti, 2 garlic naans, 2 rice (complementary) & a potato aloo ( also complementary). Curry’s were delicious. Desert included complementary ice cream. There was a lot of food brought to the table without asking which showed the restaurants hospitality but it wasn’t a little overwhelming and there was a lot of waste. Service 7/10 Staff were friendly. At moments it did take a while to get their attention on little things like extra glasses or clean cutlery but overall they were all polite and friendly Ambience 4/10 The ambience of the restaurant is very outdated and plain. It is crowded with little room to move around not making it very wheelchair friendly. We did see two separate groups of customers being sat on the same table which would make me feel very uncomfortable sitting next to people I didn’t know. Cleanliness 6/10 The table when sat down didn’t look very clean. Had to ask for clean cutlery. Menus were dirty. Value & price 10/10 The bill came to £16! We took our own drinks and starters & deserts were free. Price is very good for nice food. Average 7/10 Overall the staff were friendly and all the other guests were laughing having a good time which is nice to see. Nice selection including vegetarian options and a note to say it caters for food allergies. Value was really good but there was a lot of wasted food and the restaurant is a little outdated.

We went here after a concert so it was the end of the evening which may account for some of the issues. We did receive a number of complimentary items which is nice but we’d much rather have had 4 good main courses. The tandoori chicken was very overcooked and dry and the chicken tikka in the curries was a strange spongy texture. The curries felt like they had just be boiled up, there were no layers of flavour. It just had very little flavour. It all felt like a school dinners meal. We usually have delicious curries in Oakham where we live and viewed a Leicester curry as a treat, but sadly it wasn’t. It did cost much less though. All a bit blah sadly.

Don't get me wrong it's not all perfect in here but some things they do really really well, you just have to be careful what you choose to eat. So what's bad in here well the kebabs are marinated in food colouring and little else and pretty boring to eat they're very bland with the exception of seekh kebab which is ok. Also don't both with the lamb chops mine were in the Tandoor till they were . said that the lamb tikka is basically plain lamb with a touch of food colouring, it tastes of lamb very pleasant more like a Turkish kebab but not proper Indian marinated tikka. Main courses I asked for the Hot Meat starter big portion for a main course, this is a fabulous dish very authentic in flavour typically North Indian Pakistani Punjabi tender lamb in a rich spicy quite hot sauce absolutely delicious as good as anything I know in any Leicester restaurant. Another main course was just ordinary prawn curry which was not bad at all and my wife had king prawn tikka masala, now we all know this isn't Indian or Pakistani it was invented in this country and the version they do here is loaded with powdered coconut and sugar and not many spices but my wife likes it and the prawns were quite decent quality with some flavour and I'm sure lots of people like that kind of food because it's very mild and the portions are very generous. And now we come to what makes this restaurant so special we had two free pilau rice, a free naan, two free Currys, free poppadoms and pickles, free pakoras, free ice cream and finally free orange and melon. And if that's not enough you can take your own booze in which you buy cheap at the supermarket and save even more money. Service great we had a really good evening there yes and I do feel mean not giving it 5 Stars but the food quality is not up to say Shimla Pinks or Lilus. The chicken and lamb jalfrezi here are extremely good too, I recommend you give it a try make sure you're just Extra Hungry before you go.

Visited as a family of 4 our son recommended and it did not disappoint. The whole experience was great. The food was excellent in both quantity and quality each dish tasted fabulous. They also serve you surprises which were lovely. The service was great also friendly staff always welcoming and smiling. The restaurant was very busy lots of happy customers. Would 100% recommend and when next in Leicester we will be booking again excellent value for money.

The food was a complete let down, really unpleasant. Starter over cooked, 2 x main courses were powder sauce, both the same, different colours, tasteless. We should not have paid for the food, could only eat 20% at best including the mains & sides. Rice & fruit afterwards were nice. But didn't feel good afterwards & terrible headache today. On the positive the staff were excellent, friendly & efficient. In all my yeas, this was the worst food I've eaten, sorry but thats the way it was.

We went on Saturday 4 Jan, great service from when we entered to when we left, food was superb with a few extras that they gifted us to try including dessert, at what can only be described as excellent value for money, many thanks.

Very disappointed with the food. Tasteless Vegetarian sizzler tasted like eating mix vegetables with paneer served on sizzler plate. Main course was also disappointing- food was barely warm, no taste, sauce used in the food had a strong colour. Paratha and roti were chewy. Complementary items on the table does not compensate for a very disappointing evening

A gem of an Indian restaurant. I really don’t want to give too much information or it would spoil the suprises. Wonderful food, lovely ambiance, attention to detail and super service. You will not regret your visit.

Came here with a couple of friends. It's a bring your own alcohol place. We were given poppadoms with the usual accoutrements so we didn't bother with starters. We ordered our mains which came very quickly but then they kept bringing more dishes which were complimentary! We had enough to take an additional meal home as a doggy bag! Then they brought us a large bowl of orange and melon pieces plus a bowl of ice cream each. When the bill came, it was just over £8 each! Ridiculous! We paid £10 each so as not to feel too tight! We will definitely be back!

Came here with my sister. The staff brought us so much extra food on the house, basically a third meal. Bill came to less than £30. Next time I'm in Leicester I'll definitely be back!

My Husband and I visited last week, the food and service were both top notch, very attentive and friendly staff, the food we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. Very reasonably priced, I’ve paid a lot more elsewhere for a breakfast! Or a takeaway We were surprised by the dishes offered complimentary. Would return without a doubt. Gave 4 stars rather than 5 because the bathroom facilities were a let down.

This place is a little gem.. yes you get little complimentary dishes throughout your meal which is so lovely.. and the dishes are so tasty.. but most of all the service is exemplary... it’s a family run business and nothing is too much trouble.. Nawaaz !! .. it’s the first time my family visited your restaurant but it certainly won’t be the last .. thank you so much
