Charming, rustic traditional pub just outside of Leicester city centre, distinguished by a spacious and comfortable beer garden. I visited the pub on the first day of their "Summer Beer Festival", which essentially meant a larger than usual cask ale and cider range, and a barbecue in the evening. I arrived early in the afternoon when it wasn't too busy, but by the time I left (around 5 pm), it had become quite busy. Service was friendly, the fish cakes I had were quite good and not too pricey, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Some nice beers, too.
Really nice pub in a nice part of Leicester. Very busy place. Food served just came for drinks though. Staff very friendly and good service.
Food was absolutely phenomenal! There is a bit of a long wait for the food but it's cooked absolutely fresh and it tastes incredible, so in my eyes worth it. I'll definitely be coming back 🤤
The staff are really lovely and welcoming.
A really fine local classic neighbourhood pub. Not worth the trip from central Leicester, but a great place for locals. Like many Leicester pubs, they serve Everard's excellent local ales. I found the staff friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Plenty of seating and a nice garden. I saw a great Edinburgh fringe comedy show upstairs here. Would happily go again if in the neighbourhood
We came here for Sunday lunch. Everything was pretty good, however what really stood out was the service provided by a young, dark haired man (I don't know his name, sorry). He saw us queuing at the bar and offered instead to take our food order at our table. He couldn't do enough for us throughout the duration of our visit. A credit to the place :-)
Fish and chips was VERY good, great beer selection too.
Visited during the day a couple of times. Good beers, great selection of gins. Lovely traditional interior. Had a burger, which was a monster of a thing. Fairly expensive, but you get what you pay for and it was very high quality. Looks like it has a decent sized beer garden also with dog friendly enclosure.
Very nice atmosphere during lunch time. Amazing burgers and tortilla chips! Complementary wifi as I spend a few hours working from their outdoor space a few times this week.
Great pub, just popped in for a drink and something to eat, the Theakstons ale was great and they serve some mighty burgers, what not too like.
Have been here for drinks many times. Lovely old school bar area and a lovely beer garden. Very dog and cycle friendly. Laughter Loft comedy event nights are very good.
