Hubby and I had a delicious buffet meal (which I won on Indigo facebook). Tried several dishes never had before and all were piping hot and tasty. Poppadoms were lovely and crispy. We couldn't go to Indigo without ordering the chilli paneer as it's our favourite. The best chilli paneer ever, hot and garlicky and delicious. We don't get to go very often and this visit was for my birthday. Best birthday meal. The staff were friendly and when they knew it was my birthday didn't charge for the paneer which was very kind. Hope to visit again soon. Highly recommend.
This is the best place in Leicester I love eating here the staff and management are fantastic the food is amazing
A family run restaurant it is a local favourite. Though it's not the most comfortable to sit in it does exceptional food, my favorite being the Chilli Paneer. The prices have risen over the years and the portions are getting smaller but there's a reason the restaurant is packed during the weekends.
The most superb vegetarian restaurant in Leicester. Their famous chilli paneer and aubergine stir fry is a must, particularly if you hate aubergines as you'll be in awe after trying these! The ginni dhosa and noodles are always a treat too. Food is served very promptly and portions and prices are reasonable. Non vegetarians are truly impressed by this restaurant too. So give it a try if you're in Leicester
Indigos has a special place in my heart even if it has changed over the years. We visited this place religiously for years and I still crave the signature dish (chilli paneer, £5-7) now and then. Many people aren't aware of Indo-Chinese cuisine but it is an Indian adaptation of Chinese food (immensely popular with vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike) so you'll often see dishes prefixed with chilli, schezwan or stir fried. Despite trying much of the menu here the chilli paneer, aubergine stir fry and salt and pepper mushrooms remain firm favourites (sorry Indigos I know the crispy bhajia and veg manchurian are popular but I still think my mum makes these better). If you're in Leicester and fancy some heat, pop over to Indigos to get your fix.
A very good reason to come to Leicester. I take good food very seriously. I usually opt for my usuals that never fail to make me happy when I'm full. They are cheese dosa, egg plant stir fry and the dessert that cannot go wrong the coconut ice cream (I come from the tropical country Indonesia and we have got plenty of coconuts, but this is the best coconut ice cream I have ever had!).
I can't give anything other than 5 stars to Indigo! They catered for my wedding and we were very pleased with everything, from presentation, to flavors, to execution, communication and service. It's an all veg place and with these flavors and innovative cooking you will not miss the meat. I still remember most of the dishes they served at our wedding - I still crave the Gold coin appetizer! They have many options for catering and are very experienced staff. We have dined in many times and always felt most welcome. The owner Jagdish is very friendly and accommodating. Last time he let us try some new dishes they were trying out to put on the menu. Food is always so good and every time I go to Leicester I make a point to go to Indigo. I love the Hakka noodles here and also the chili paneer! The indo-Chinese food is superb! The ambiance feels like a pub and it is quite large with three floors. It gets quite busy at weekends.
All veg place, good for take out or eating in. First time I have ate at the restaurant. I mainly got introduced to Indigo as my partner is vegitarian, the food isnt always consistant, but when it's good, it will make you forget bout steak :P ...
Not a big fan of the Indo Chinese part of the menu and would recommend staying away.
I strongly recommend the Chilli paneer, Aubergine stir fry (must) and the Crispy potato bhajia.
Exceptionally good food. A family restaurant, which has its ups and downs. Decor is a little dated; in need of a refurb.
I LOVE this place. If you're after something with an Indian twist, this is the place for you. Its indo-Chinese. Im not a huge fan of dining in vegi restaurants, but if i do fancy it, i always go here! The food is exceptional. It was previously a pub. If you love spicy food this is the place for you. The service is good but catch them on a busy night and you may have to wait. Paneer I something they make really well. Best time to go is Monday Wednesday. Friday & Saturday are busy days and you may need to book a table. I feel hungry now : )
Info:
You can expect to spend around £10-20 per person here. There may also be a wait time for tables, so it is best to call and make a reservation to ensure a place. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible from the front, though some seating areas can only be accessed by going down a step or two. They also have an upper seating area. Would highly advise to call and book a reservation for any wheelchair users to guarantee a table in a wheelchair friendly area.
Our experience:
Indigo was a pleasant place to eat, though very very busy as we went at a peak time. We had the restaurant menu (as opposed to the buffet). It seems that one item from our order was forgotten, but after enquiring this was rectified as they made it immediately. Harsh in particular was a great server, always serving with smiles and being happy to assist, despite us making quite a few changes to our order. In general, I would avoid visiting at peak times, as the place is quite busy. The food is of great quality, even if it may take a while to come, it is usually worth it.
The photos include the cheese and tomato pizza and the vegetable schezwan noodles, and photos of the menu as of 16/09/2023.
I had a South Indian unlimited live dosa and other delicious buffet food lunch offers for only £5 Monday to Friday.
Good service and food.
Different food variety everyday. So worth a visit to indigo leicester. 👌🤗
We went to Indigo on a weekend (9/9/23) after an extremely busy week. Vijay - The manager was extremely courteous and accommodating for our requirements. I hope we will continue to get the same fantastic service from all the team! The food was great and provided for efficiently! Thank you for looking after the family everyone !
Great Sunday breakfast! Lots of choice. All the usual goodies. Lovely fried rotli and Puri. Finish off with masala tea.
2023 - Father's day family lunch. Had crispy bhajia (thick not crispy), mogo (just right), sev puri (tangy), crispy chilli (prefect), dahi wada (nice), chilli panner (good), Gini dosa (too hot), bhaigan bharta (bland). Good abd efficient service. Downside - They run out of passionfruit cheesecake at 2.00pm?
Unfortunately there was an issue with the till system tonight which meant service was very slow.
That is still understandable, but we'd ordered a pau bhaji without Coriander. When the order arrived, there was Coriander in there and the waiter tried to convince us that it was peppers. It wasn't - it was Coriander which meant we had to send it back and have another long wait.
Other than this, food was enjoyable :)
Not a lot of variety. But a peaceful place away from all the noise and crowd. Fully vegetarian. That's a plus for those who prefer.
We were seated right in the back which wasn't as nice as the front of the restaurant but that's to be expected as we turned up on a Saturday night with no reservation. The food was honestly incredible and well worth the money we spent. Stayed there for 2 hours and loved it, the staff are sweet and very accommodating. I heard a rumour that they are thinking of closing up shop and I hope that isn't true.
This is the best Indian restuarant with best quality and delicious food. The waiter and waitress service was excellent, as a customer we were really taken care of. I highly recommend.
Good quality of food . Excellent value for money for the buffet lunch. Different menu daily. Staff very helpful, especially Vijay, the manager
Food is nice and tasty, This place is busy most of the time so service is sometime not up to standard. Also atmosphere is OK.
