Good pastries, and very good millionaire shortbread. I'm not too fussed on the sandwiches they make, they could do with a bit more work and creation. The staff always seem to drop the cakes when they take them out, very clumsy. Their prices are hit and miss, some things are great value and others are quite pricey. Like most places in the current climate, they have increased their prices quite a bit recently.

SERVICE: 5/5 Attentive, polite, warm and friendly. All was wrapped/bagged well. TASTE: 4/5 Tried the sausage roll + a chicken and mushroom slice. All nice enough. Nothing amazing but tasty nonetheless. VALUE: 4.5/5 At around £3.50 for the two items, I thought that was fair for the quality. SUMMARY: Will go back and try some other items. The sweet items looked very tempting.

Whilst not an official corporate endorsement, as an organisation we were looking for a bakery local to a remote venue we were using to provide some breakfast treats. The help and service we received was brilliant, and the food was to match. the Bakery delivered to our remote location, at the time they promised and stayed in contact up the the event and accommodated our change in order. Brilliant service all round. just sorry I was too busy at the event so didn't get to eat more than three to replace lunch after we had done - could easily have polished a box off!

I needed some decorated cupcakes for my mum's special birthday and the HMB did not disappoint. I was concerned that it might not be a very personal experience and the cakes might look a bit 'factory-made' if I went to a bakery rather than a home baker, but having no luck tracking a baker down due to holidays etc, I got in touch with Karen at Leigh. She came up with a gorgeous individual design in exactly the colours I'd requested and the cakes tasted fantastic. Couldn't be more satisfied and my mum was delighted too.
