We love coming to the boot for lunch. We own a business 2 minutes away and after a busy morning with our escape room players it’s always good knowing that there is good food on our doorstep. We love the food, the staff are always really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is fantastic

Probably one of the best filet steaks I've ever eaten here, although warm duck salad and fish also very good on subsequent visits. Always a lively bar on arrival and the dining areas are rustic and vibrant. Great pub and restaurant with varied menu and lots of fresh daily specials.

Friendly welcome and well kept ale at this large country pub. Various drinking areas and large restaurant with an interesting menu. Big garden with plenty of seating (some covered) next to the large car park.

Wanted to visit since the refurb last year, saw some reviews about slow service when they did reopen so waited to give things a chance to settle in. We went for Sunday lunch and it's a generous 4 stars. Food wise, the starters were good and tasty but took a little while to come out considering they were all cold dishes and it wasn't that busy. Sunday roast portions were okay but things just seemed a little 'dry', veg and beef included. It was pretty tasty though so we finished with clean plates. We did order dessert but the wait became too much so we asked for them to be cancelled and just for the bill; we were assured they'd be out in 2 minutes. 5 minutes later, they were okay but the pavlova was far too sweet for our liking. The staff were very friendly and welcoming but it just seemed disorganised, to be fair they seem to be doing their best. There didn't really seem to be anyone running service or things being run in sections, hence we had 3 or 4 different people serving us. Its not really a problem but having one person look after a set few tables makes the service more attentive in my opinion (spent 15 years working in hospitality). The small details also need to be worked on - only one of us was having wine so I'd expect all the other wine glasses to be cleared but that didn't happen until we asked. We had to ask for salt and pepper and the salt came empty. One of our party was still eating and we were asked if the other plates could be cleared (makes the person still eating feel rushed). To be fair, I think this is a mix of lack of experience and leadership, but as mentioned they are all a friendly bunch! Would we go back... Maybe not for Sunday lunch as we'd probably try somewhere else we'd not been to but we would come for a lunch or evening meal as its a really lovely pub and has been done up well!

Definitely a pub where you want to go back to. The service is lovely and very attentive, the food is really good too, and for a reasonable price. We have been here twice already, and both the starters, the pie and the Sunday roast were really yummy. They also have live music on Friday evenings :) See you soon!

We had a lovely meal, and I had desert as eyes bigger than my belly. Staff were friendly and helpful. One young lady had just started that day, and she managed the drink order ok. We will pop in again when we down this way . 10/10

Went for dinner last night and we were very impressed. The pub decor, lighting and ambience were lovely, as were the staff and the food. Great beer too, Neck Oil, Landlord, Hobgoblin Gold and Black Sheep, all on draught. Couldn't fault it. We will be back!

The sharing platter was delicious and fresh. It’s the perfect country pub with a cosy log fire. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Recommend a visit.

Have loved this little find where I visit once or twice a year. Always loved it, but today was wonderful . New management I think. Service A-class and food A-mazing. Thank you x

I'd previously visited the boot a few times, before covid and not long after covid after new management had taken over... It was not great after covid, the good news is, it's being ran by a new team which I've got to say we're very welcoming and polite. Food was was not largest portions but of a decent quality, with a family of six visiting and everyone to have said it was good is a good accomplishment, with service being quick, not far from some of the best pubs I've visited and the price point is average despite the lovely area/location of Soulbury, with a very relaxing tone to the place.
