We went there on Boxing Day. A lovely dog friendly pub with plenty of atmosphere. Complimentary sandwiches, sausage pieces and chocolates were passed around. Groups on a 'treasure hunt' called in too. It's the best pub in the village, and so friendly and welcoming.
Easy atmosphere, a cool private garden, a sports room upstairs for TV football & rugby etc plus pool and darts, a decent friendly clientele, and..... well positioned in a very rustic and fascinating historic town! …
Used the function room for a mini pre wedding gathering back in November and the buffet food was delicious. Was a very reasonable price for the evening as well. Thanks to Max and the team!
I come to the Royal Oak all the time even though it’s not my local by far! Staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially Stevie they are absolutely amazing always going above and beyond! Such a cosy pub with a lovely beer garden and loads of room upstairs for watching sports and a lovely pool table.
