Lichfield Trent Valley has improved over the last ten years, with the services on the line to London now being hourly during most of the day, a new station building, additional car park and lifts. The station building has toilets for male, female and mobility impaired customers. The ticket counter can be raised or lowered if necessary. There are ticket vending machines at the station; in the car park off Old Burton Road and by the steps up to platform 3. A covered cycle rack is in the car park by the station building. The station now has step-free access to all platforms after lifts were commissioned in June 2020. The car park adjacent to the station building isn’t in the best state (quite a few potholes) and the parking spaces fills up quickly on weekday mornings. This isn’t an issue in July 2020 thankfully! There are waiting shelters on all platforms, as well as customer information boards and loudspeaker announcements.
local west midlands trains to Birmingham and Bromsgrove from the high level, and trains towards Tamworth and Crewe from the low level. However it does feel like it is I the middle of nowhere a bit
A perfectly situated station for those living nearby, though the access arrangements on the Lichfield side could definitely be improved - I don't like having to share the narrow roadway with cars jostling for position. Now that elevators are being installed, access for disabled passengers should be improved substantially. :)
