Been in twice now since new owners took over, always like to give two trys to see if things are as good as before and stay that way, can happily say both times have been fantastic, food spot on, freshly cooked, very good portion sizes, prices very reasonable but best of all, just like previous owners, the guys that own it are lovely, been greeted both times with big smiles and friendly conversation, even asking for feedback regarding the food. Love to see owners that care. Will be back soon

I always look forward to our regular chippy night - We’ve tried so many different places but Barrier Reef are on a whole new level! The staff are always friendly and the food is impeccable. I’ve never had a bad experience and I hope to continue my custom at this shop for many years! Thanks again folks! 😁

Had a run out on the Vespa and decided to call here for fish and chips and we were not disappointed! The batter on the fish was crispy and not greasy and neither were the chips! Staff very pleasant and friendly and was nice to be able to sit outside and eat. We will definitely go back!

Metheringham has more than its fare share of excellent Fish and Chip shops but this one is the best! also best kept secret (see later ) We stopped on our way back from a day out at Skegness. Yes, this is as good as any there, e.g. The Trawler or the Blue Fin, two of our faves. The menu is classic F&C including pies, burgers etc. My recommendation is eat them right away outside using the convenient picnic tables or even go round the corner to the enormous park/playing fields. Great prices and good service. The only reason they are not top of the local list on Google maps is because they refuse to pay the annual fee 😂

Chips a little anaemic. Fish was lovely as was the batter, but too much salt a vinegar. Put your own on.

Best I've had for ages and at a good price. Best of all they cook their pies in the oven not microwaved!

Apparently taken over last year by a lovely, friendly, Indian family. They certainly know how to cook fish & chips and the portions are fantastic! I have been there quite a few times, possibly why I’ve gained weight!🤪
