This establishment has been located here as long as I can remember. The smells emanating prior to opening in the morning are enough to drive one mad. The donuts are still the sweet indulgence they were when I was a child. The coffee was good, the staff friendly. It was a wonderful and nostalgic experience.

Omg, did they change the recipe for creme filling in their donuts?? Picked up a dozen & half for my family this morning and the creme filling was like eating crisco. We had to scoop it out in order to eat the donuts. Was going to give some to the nursing staff at hospital but thought I better not.

Mel o cream has alway had the best donuts especially their cinnamon rolls
how ever recently when I have gone the donuts have been under cooked and they have completely ruined the cinnamon rolls every thing that used to make the cinnamon rolls great has changed for the worse the icing is so sparse they might as well not be any on it then so little cinnamon compared to what there used to be in fact it looks and tastes like a donuts sad attempt at being a cinnamon roll. In short the change was so bad I ended up throwing away the other cinnamon rolls I bought.

Not super happy with the donuts over the past 3 or 4 months. A few bites and I’m done. Not even close to what they use to be. Sad. They have been my favorites since I was little.

The donuts were small and over cooked, the cake donuts were like left in fryer to long. Really bad experience, and I was a big fan. We have been going there for over 60 years but I won't go back.

My morning coffee before making my rounds and picking up trash at 2 great park's we have where people just throw out whatever it's sad. Madigan State Park is a Beautiful place just like Kickapoo lets quit littering and put trash where it goes.
