Maybe it was the location as it certainly was not the food.
Read the post on the window.
Hope they can gather what they have learnt and make a comeback.
Alas cannot see myself going across Stanley Park.
Good luck for the future
Before you set out to go here, it's closed down. You can still buy food from them at their stand at Liverpool football club on match days only.I only went once and thought it wouldn't last.Pleasant enough food, nothing special, but too expensive for that location
This was a great restaurant but sadly they have gone out of business. Various websites show them as open but see their farewell message in the photo.
This was a great place and I will miss them, but please don't expect to book and turn u
Tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of the city, this is an absolute gem of a place.
Great selection of traditional dishes and Greek wines and beers.
Un-pressuriised atmosphere with really friendly and helpful staff
Make this your local - either for a quite meal or a large fun evening out
Good prices! Enjoy
I had a normal Greek pita wrap with Lamb, with a cold Mythos beer, just delicious.
Really amazing food with good service
I've taken ages to write a review on this! Was here in February before an LFC match, we were there very early (around 4) so was quiet, but people there were lovely and the food was incredible. I knew when I saw it was #2 in Liverpool that it must be seriously good! Value of the food, relative to its quality, brilliant as well. Next time we are up in Liverpool we will definitely come here again.
This restaurant was still taking reservations on groupon despite being closed this evening. Disgraceful
Booked a table for this evening at 6pm. Battled through the wind to get there. Restaurant closed. No notification. Evening ruined. Seems to be a recurring theme for this so called restaurant. Avoid at all costs.
I had a meal booked on 3.9.19 originally wanted 2nd sept as my birthday when I phoned up they told me it was closed so arranged for Tuesday 3rd sept they took my number.got a taxi from gateacre which cost over £20 with my wife son and daughter in law arrived 5.50 played taxi and went to venue which was shut tried phoning 3 times answer machine .just wandering why no one had the courtesy to ring me and let me know it was shut you spoiled what would have been a lovely birthday meal
Was visiting Liverpool and thought we would try Greekosophy. We bought a groupon voucher which included a banquet and glass of wine for £26. When we arrived the restaurant didnt look much from the outside but inside was a different matter. We were offered a choice of seat; before long it was full. First we were brought pitta with a selection of dips and a greek salad; next chickpea and veg balls with Tzatziki and finally a selection of meats and pittas. The wine was ok but the beer was great. We were so full we couldnt attempt a pudding; all of which looked lovely and authentic. Service was great too. I would definitely return and try something else.
I absolutely love everything about Greekosophy, we live 45miles away and have visited 4 times in 12months and will be visiting again in the next couple of weeks.
I love the warm welcome you receive, Greek music playing and also the owner has such a genuine lovely smile. All the staff we have met have been lovely and the food is just delicious and the deserts are amazing.
I would also recommend the Greek honey (orange blossom) my son loves it and I buy it each visit and the salad dressing is lovely too.
I just wish we lived closer so we could visit even more.
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and we will visit again soon!
Highly reccommended an excellent venue, with great food and value for money, and a must when visiting Liverpool.
Visited Greekosophy with four of my friends well worth it the food is A1 the staff are very friendly the restaurant is warm and cosy very homely plenty of parking outside one of the best restaurants i have been to would highly recommend will definitely return.Would give it ten stars if i could.
Hermes, the god of roads designated our navigation system to this place and he didn’t let us down!
We started of by consuming some delicious fresh olives although I don’t like olives so I’ll take my parents word that they were nice.
I had a delicate beef dish which name was to confusing to mention here but the alcohol was that rich i left this establishment tipsy.
Whilst I am a fan of Bram Stoker the Tzatziki had enough garlic in to ward off all vampires within a 50 mile radius - just the way I like it!
There was enough pita bread to tuck yourself in to one and let your mind vanish into dreams - pita dreams.
All in all, a pretty cool place.
Well worth the short walk from city centre. Really authentic feel and family vibe. Reminded me of holidays in Crete. We had the Groupon set menu offer which was excellent value and would love to return to try full menu. It's a no brainer if you like excellent Greek food. Se efcharistó fíle mou.
My partner and I visited Greekosophy on Tuesday night for my birthday meal. We were visiting Liverpool from out of town and so had looked on Groupon to see where we could get a voucher for a good deal.
We managed to find a Groupon deal for 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 drinks for £21 and in addition to this I’d found a 15% off Groupon promo code.
We had read trip advisor reviews prior to buying the Groupon and we were excited to see if the restaurant lived up to its fantastic reviews. We were not disappointed! It most certainly did!
Don’t be put off that the restaurant is a short walk out of the city centre and in an area which might look a little dodgy to some as it is definitely worth the trip.
The restaurant was clean, the ambience was lovely, the staff were friendly and the food was out of this world. Portions were a decent size and the flavours of the food were unbelievable.
I cannot recommend highly enough! We actually felt like we were ripping the restaurant off by only paying the price we did for the Groupon voucher!
It’s just a shame we live on the other side of the country so we can’t visit more often.
Friendly, attentive staff and amazing food. Had a lovely relaxed time, were well looked after but not rushed, and left full from the generous portion sizes and our inability to leave anything as it was all so tasty!
We visited last night, and had a great time.
The food was really tasty and hot.
We felt what made our visit even better was the friendly service - you could tell they wanted us to have the best time.
If we are ever back in Liverpool we shall certainly visit again!
We were staying close by and came across this place by chance on Google. IT had good reviews so we took a chance.
The food was excellent hot, tasty and traditional Greek. We went on a Wednesday early evening and it was fairly busy. Service was attentive and the waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. The only thing that let them down was the 25 minute wait after we ordered coffee at the end of the meal. They just plain forgot but apologised profusely.
Tucked away in a neglected part of the city centre, this is a treasure not to be missed. Great service and simple honest and tasty Greek not Cypriot food. This is a restaurant with a real sense of a relaxed Greek family home.
Foolish not to try it.
