Thomas Rigbys is a great, old, traditional pub that always delivers good service and a vast choice of ales.
Split into a bar to the left and more of a restaurant area to the right, there are also tv's to watch sport. To the rear of the pub, there is a large, private courtyard shared with the Lady of Mann pub, which catches the sun most of the day, if you sit in the right area.
Whilst we didn't eat here on the day of these photos and review, I have eaten here on many occasions and the food is traditional good pub food. Not great quality, but good value for a pub.
Drink prices are reasonable for this type of pub and there is a good choice of drinks.
If visiting Liverpool and you want a traditional pub with a good atmosphere, I'd pop in here.

My dad and I went into the pub for the toilet. I ordered a Guinness. This may not be unique to this location but the Guinness here tasted notably better than it does in the US.
We asked the barkeep for a recommendation on restaurants serving traditional Liverpool food. After he told me they served it I was sceptical since most bar food is trash in the US. We decided to give it a try and we were sure glad we did. When they brought the food out we were shocked with the presentation and then again by how incredible the food tasted. Best pie I've ever had hands down. We didn't realize what amount of food we would get so we left completely stuffed.

Friendly waiters and bartenders, fast service . Great portion size . Haddock, chips and peas all cooked perfectly.
Really awesome pub, friendly staff and good atmosphere! Sunday roast was gorgeous, massive portion and wuiclly served. Great variety of beers too, proper quality pub! Sport on as well for those that enjoy it :)
A great traditional style pub with good pub grub and great service from a welcoming and enthusiastic team. Tried Scouse for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Dog friendly, people friendly. Good choice of drinks and the recommended beer was first class. Clean and tidy all round. Recommended 👍
One of my favourite pubs ever. I love the Okell's Bitter. Never had a bad pint. I enjoyed the steak pie and chips for lunch - very nice indeed.
A lively city centre pub. It has a courtyard at the back which is really nice on a hot day.
They have a large selection of real ales , and plenty of choice on the other pumps.
I haven't eaten in there for a long time, but last time I did the food was good.
Only went in for a quick drink,liverpool were playing at home. The pub was chocker and loud! BUT the staff worked very quick, soon got the queue down...and were friendly and polite. Very impressed
Not been back here for quite sometime but everytime i have been it has been great. Never had a meal in here so i couldn't comment on that but the beers are great and the outside court yard is awesome in the summer. Sometimes it did get very packed in the place and hard to get served but i have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the oldness of this place. Overall 9.5/10
