just had brunch at Skaus, delicious tasty food. the veggie beetroot sausages were unbelievably good, plenty of food, fresh and well cooked.
met one of the owners Dan, charming young man, busy but with time to chat about his menu to myself and husband.
will certainly return.
Went to Skaus at the Camp & Furnance. We got a few plates to share. We ordered the Swedish Meatballs, the Duck Neggets, Hasselback Chips and Skaus Soda Bread. All of the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. Probably the nicest meal I had while I was in Liverpool for the week. This food is a must-try and will not disappoint!
Went for lunch. Can’t rate the food highly enough. Probably the best tasting food we’ve had this year. Recommend both the meat and vegan scouse. Friendly staff and good service. Even a few dinosaurs (due to an event). Will definitely be back.
Skaus is within a bar called Hus in the Tempest Building. We visited for the first time on Saturday evening and arrived just as a huge amount of guests arrived for a secret diner event upstairs. Once they'd departed, Hus was fairly quiet on a Saturday evening, and having had the doors open to get the crowd upstairs the room eventually began to warm up and our meal with Skaus got started.
It's a really interesting menu and the food we had was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The standard is high and the cost is very reasonable. The bar is separate so that effects the service for drink top ups, but once that was explained, we understood the difficulty.
We all went for the fish and chips and it was fantastic. Now we know it's here, we will be back to try other options on the menu. Not sure if these guys will move on to their own restaurant venue at some point, but until they do we would highly recommend getting over to Hus to try Skaus. We'll be back.
Have been here a few times to eat in the afternoon and evening.
I have never been let down
We've had Scouse, meatballs and been to their events and they've all been fantastic.
I can't recommend them enough
Been here a few times for food, always great staff with smiles on faces and the food is even better. last time I went I got the meatballs, was amazing. highly recommend
We booked for a party of 20 to wish farewell to our son and his girlfriend who have gone to Australia travelling so pre booked food as such a large group can honestly say a truly wonderful experience and the Sunday roast was delicious !the owners Josh and Dan looked after us well so friendly, sure we will all be back again I can recommend fully .
We have eaten here a few times now and it never disappoints, Dan and Josh are producing some great Scandinavian style food in Liverpool which makes a really nice change. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Went to Skaus while visiting family in Liverpool on their recommendations and we were blown away by just how good the food was. Every single dish was delicious and immaculately presented, the staff were super friendly and there is a great selection of beer and drinks on offer.
The venue itself is very welcoming and it will be one of the first places I come back to when visiting Liverpool in the future.
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to and can't recommend it highly enough.
Dan and the team catered for my party just last weekend food was amazing, everyone loved the hasselback chips and the sandwiches were so tasty! Just what I wanted! I have also been for brunch a couple of times and loved it, perfect venue for their style of food too! Will definitely be back....
Didn’t get any photos of the party food as I was too busy celebrating but the attached photo is of the scrambled egg and trout cavier from brunch it was delicious
We went to Skaus as a group of 8 but in spite of our large group size the staff were very attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the steak and it was absolutely gorgeous and great value for money. The only issue I had came to payment time. We were told we had to pay for the food & drinks separately, which was fine. We all paid for our food but then had a 10 min wait before someone came over to take drink payment, by which time we all had our coats on and were waiting to leave.
All in all a lovely experience though, would deffo go again!
Wow, what stunning plates of food in a great location. We went in search of oysters as there aren't many places in Liverpool you can get them. The oysters with trout caviar were delightful as was the mackerel and rhubarb and the cauliflower three ways. The hassleback potatoes are also delicious. We will definitely be coming back regularly.
This is a pop up by two very talented local lads
Limited menu as they are literally cooking in a corner of the bar but you would not believe what they serve
If you watch master chef when they talk about balance of flavours and wonder what they mean then eat here and it becomes abundantly clear
Everything works together to become greater than its parts and the depth of the flavours blows your mind.
This is proper grown up food and there is nothing lazy about the veggie option
Hassleback chips are the best thing ever and the carrot cake delicious
They forage locally for food and support local businesses
They are waiting a dining room to be built when the menu will expand but if you want food that’s different and exciting then don’t wait Go Now
Dock leaf is a lovely airy bar that is a pleasure to spend time in. SKAUS operate within Dockleaf bar. I went for dinner but there’s also brunch and lunch menus and I’m definitely going to go back to try! I had the burger, with a side of hasselback chips which were lovely. The burger was lovely, with pickled beetroot and cucumber ketchup! Would definitely recommend. They change up the menu often to keep it seasonal.
