We came here for shelter when it started with heavy rain. We had some coffees and some slices of Victoria sponge. The coffees and cakes were lovely.
Pretty good value. Food was really nice (coffee was a little burnt maybe but might just have been a roast we don’t like). Everyone super friendly and helpful and just to reiterate, really good prices for a breakfast (which was needed in preparation for new years)
We came in today right before close to grab a hot drink to walk through the park with, and the tall blonde lad was so lovely to us <3
Nicest hot chocolate ever! Thank you so much xx
I'm actually shocked this place's got 3.5 on Tripadvisor.
You definitely shouldn't expect restaurant food from there - it's just a small cafe for a quick bite.
Staff is friendly, service is fast and they've got quite a few vegan options on the menu.
I loved their iced latte with oat milk.
We got cia
lovely cafe but i could not see any prices anywhere so i had to buy my cake and coffee and hope for the best
Lovely place, friendly staff. Food was fine. However all our cutlery from teaspoons to forks and knifes were dirty.
Looks can be deceiving... Food was quite decent but the place (IMO) more for take away
Had a gorgeous pre theatre dinner today. Had the ham hock and my friend had the goats cheese. Mains had goulash and the pork. All perfectly cooked and and seasoned, service was sensational with real attention to detail.
Thank you so much for a lovely evening, we will definitely be back. 👌
Great place to spend some time on a warm Sunny day plenty of open space to relax. Good for dog walkers. Didn't have any food but looking at other people the food did look very well made.
Wonderful cafe in the heart of Calderstones park. Plenty of seating, both inside and outdoors. Many of the staff are young and it can be quite hectic during busy hours, but the food is good, the cakes are very tasty and the coffees are well made.
Dogs are welcome to queue but can sit on the benches
This review is solely for the cakes, I personally want to shake the hand of whoever bakes the cakes at The Reader Cafe, they are incredible and nothing like I’ve ever tasted before. The Victoria Sponge is to die for. Mouthwatering every time.
Thank you for your service.
