Black Cat is hands down my favourite bar on Smithdown Road. It's got everything you could want from a local.
Great and ever changing selection of ales, lagers and gins. Food available from Basha next door. Two excellent pub quizzes on a Wednesday & a Sunday (booking a table via their website is advised, it's very popular).
Loads of seating areas, sport shown on multiple TVs and the bar staff are a delight. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Been coming here for a while. Lovely selection of spirits, draught, and bottles. Cocktails are lovely! Nice and refreshing on a hot day. Bar staff are top, too.
I don’t drink in the week so it’s awesome to be able to get a draft pint of decent AF beer at my local ❤️🍻

What sets this apart from the rest of the competition is they have a wide variety of choice whether it's Cider, Lager/Beer, IPA's etc.. And the prices as of writing are not too bad, unfortunately they have gone up however it's just the way it is at the minute which I do understand, I would also prefer to support a Local Business especially as there are not many places where you can get a Frulli Strawberry Beer on Draught as well as seeing some Wrestling Themed Drinks on Draught, that is boss to be honest and I'd love to try some more on my next visit which will no doubt be soon!
They also show the football here which is a bonus! Great if you'd like to find somewhere to watch it on Smithdown Road!
Would highly recommend coming here especially for something different, they do regular shows and themed quizzes so definitely another reason to give them a go!
Great selection of drinks and friendly staff. They allowed us to bring our pizza from Little Furnace (next door) in with us. Nice atmosphere and there are always folks who are up for a chat there.
Generally good place. Good beer selection. Very loud on many nights (I mean, literally bellowing into microphones), but really pleasant place generally, especially earlier in the day.
Decor is fab! Also you can order food through an app which comes from the neighbouring takeaway.
They have a really smooth stout which my partner said is better tasting than Guinness!!
The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is great too.
Good little pub on Smithdown. Doesn't cost an arm and a leg and nice beer selection.

I really liked it here. The staff I spoke to were really friendly and chatty. If you like craft beers, this is spot to visit. Not a lot of cask ales though. Defo going back.
