The Vines Pub (the Big House)

Recently visited this establishment and was genuinely impressed by the variety and quality of ales on offer. The bar staff showcased not only their expertise but also a genuine passion for the craft, guiding me through the selection with insightful recommendations. Their knowledge on the nuances of each ale made the experience memorable. Kudos to the team for maintaining such high standards in this aspect. It's evident they take pride in serving the best to their patrons. Cheers!

At last, The Vines has been rescued from its years of neglect to become a safe, comfortable and welcoming pub free of day long drinking piss ants and lairy lads. The team behind the renovation and restoration are the same responsible for Lark Lane's beautiful The Green Man and The Red Lion on Slater Street. Its a good refurb, but it could have gone a bit further. The fixtures and fittings around the bar still loook a little tired. Still, the rooms look first rate, the ale is good and the selection of pies very tasty. Its a massive improvement on recent years and the best the pub has looked in twenty years.

A true 10/10 pub I’ve never seen such a unique and spectacular pub in my life. From huge taxidermy throughout to the elegant woodwork in every corner, it was wonderfully bizarre - almost like being in an Alice in wonderland museum- you never knew what was around the corner! It was a big bonus that the young lad behind the bar was so spunky - a proper funny chappy. Will definitely be returning

This Victorian pub has been refurbished so that a lot of the original features have been uncovered. The back room is amazing and needs to be seen. Fantastic wood paneling on the walls and a beautiful glass dome in the ceiling. There is an excellent selection of drinks. The staff ard all very friendly and helpful. The only negative point I have is the toilets, which are very dark and dim and wood panelled. I'm just hoping they will be updated soon. Overall I highly recommend this vastly improved bar. Definitely a new favourite

The renovation on this old Liverpool institution is fantastic. The 'Big House' has never looked better. Decent selection of beers, amazingly restored surroundings and friendly staff means this is back on my regular bar crawl now (let's be honest, previously the place could get a bit lairy!) Awesome night in there, already got plans for some friends to meet up so I can show them the changes.
