My partner’s mother got married here last week and what an amazing experience it was. Lisa, the wedding coordinator, was particularly thoughtful, well organised and friendly. She clearly had loads of excellent experience but made this wedding feel incredibly special. The staff in general were bubbly and supportive. The venue and scenery are absolutely gorgeous. Couldn’t have been a better event. Highly recommend.
Splendid experience. We felt like a royalty visiting this place. You get treated so respectfully.
The location and history of Plas Maenen is incredible. Fun fact: the queen stored her jewels in the basement of this house behind a big safe door during the second world war.
The rooms are lovely. We slept very well.
But the breakfast is something else. As you can see on the picture it has been the BEST (Welsh) breakfast I have had. Everything is superb quality and cooked by a professional.
In conclusion:
Great location + view
Room is lovely
Breakfast is 10/10
Service is prestigious
I'll be coming back.
We got married here on the 7th of October. It was a fantastic day supported by Lisa and Daryl the wedding planners and coordinators. They took all the worries and problems away making sure everything went well and on time. Beautiful venue.
Small independent hotel in the heart of the Conwy Valley with gorgeous views from the terrace and veranda restaurant.
Friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts Amanda & Richard. Extremely well organised and felt entirely comfortable with what was in place for Covid. Great food, comfortable and clean rooms, those at the front ( the suites ) having lovely views across the valley. A very pleasant and enjoyable stay, breakfast on the terrace, dinner on the veranda. Look forward to returning.
We stayed for three nights in August as a base for visiting three of Edward I's castles in North Wales. The location is beautiful, overlooking the Conwy valley, just a few miles south of Conwy and a few miles north of Betws-y-Coed, so is ideal for visiting Conwy, Beaumaris and Caernarfan castles as well as the mountains of Snowdonia. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished and decorated, and offers very comfortable and peaceful accommodation. The proprietor and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Other reviewers have mentioned the interesting history of the mansion and the disastrous attempts to develop hydro-electricity in Dolgarrog, just across the valley.
We thoroughly recommend it.
We attended a family wedding at Plas Maenan.
Would recommend to any couple looking for a truly stunning venue.
Add to that the impeccable service we received and how wonderful, Lisa, the manager was and I would say this is the perfect place to get married.
Lovely vegan afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. The owner Jane can not do enough to help. My daughter and her fiance have booked their wedding here and we were able to have a good look round. Guest rooms are stunning , all individually decorated.
Came here to see Vampires Rock. A nice modern theatre with good views of the stage from the stalls. The bar sells beer from the local (Dhillons) brewery, so that's nice.
Toilets are a bit small (unusual for a more modern theatre), resulting in long queues at the men's and women's toilets. But apart from that, a very pleasant experience.
Absolutely beautiful place. Location is perfect. Can not wait to get married here.
We had our Daughters wedding at the venue yesterday 17th September 2023 , absolutely beautiful venue and everyone involved in organising the day was amazing and couldn't do enough for all of us and thanks to Lisa coordinating the day to make it go smoothly , and special thanks to the manager and cheff food was amazing and beutifull rooms and breakfast would highly recommend this venue
