Gorgeous and tasty Spanish fusion food that is made fresh right in front of you. The owner is very friendly and talkative and is very accommodating for dietary requirements. We had the North African Sausage dish and the Teriyaki Salmon, which were both so fresh and delicious. This small independent restaurant is a hidden gem surrounded by big chain restaurants in the O2 Centre and I would really recommend it. When we visit this area again, we will definitely come back here to eat.
Chef Nicholas has been cooking for some 30 years and decided to open a restaurant inside a mall which clashes with the chain restaurants around. The food is savoury and wholesome, made from trully fresh and mostly organic ingredients sourced locally. It takes a while to cook and it tastes like that home made food your mama from Spain used to make (ok, maybe you have to use your imagination a little here if your mom wasn't Spanish).
You have to cheer for the little guy, trying to compete with all the major chains and their efficient methods, also the food is worth it.
Excellent service. Delicious original food, and the wine is really good value.
Do go and skip the chains and visit this restaurant, I truly recommend it!
If you want exceptionally cooked food which has been personally made fresh for you, look no further. The sea bass is cooked to perfection and every ingredient is quality and presented so well. The chef and owner is the friendliest down to Earth guy you can find who caught us on our way to another food establishment, and honestly we were so glad. Can't say one bad thing! We will be back very soon :)
The food here is excellent! Fresh, delicious! The chef Nick puts his heart into cooking the food and Tim the restaurant manager has great sense of humour and impeccable service! Definitely recommend! And I found my fav wine!! 😊
We have now been back 3 times after trying by chance the first time. The food is exceptional and prices are very reasonable. Great choice and cooked fresh each time. Nik is a friendly and great host. This is what eating out should always be. Great service, great food and leaving knowing you just had a special experience.
Really nice little place surrounded by generic chain food restaurants. A good variety of dishes although I am not quite sure it is "fusion" but this term is open to interpretation. Slightly bigger than tapas size portions so three mains between two plus bread and olives was filling. The Morrocan lamb sausages and olive dishes were delicious. Very reasonably priced and service was very attentive. The Portuguese custard dessert was also excellent. If your at the O2 go here instead of a chain.
An incredible restaurant! Came to the O2 centre just for an impromptu quick meal. The owner Nik was incredibly friendly and easily convinced us to take a seat. He is super passionate about the food and as a vegetarian he really catered well for me with some great selection but I'm sure the fish and meat is equally as good! We started with the olives which were gorgeous and lemony and yummy. Then we had the halloumi, patata bravas and tomato salad which was so delicious I easily could have had two more portions. Finally we decided on the churros for dessert but Nik mentioned the pastelas de natas (custard tart) was particularly good and I love these so couldn't say no. Ive been to Portugal but I can hand on heart say this was one of the best I've ever eaten. All in all I can't fault this place at all. Great food, attentive service and really decent prices. I'm a big believer in supporting independent businesses especially if it's this good.. Definitely coming back! :)
That’s a great little independent place in the O2 centre. The quality of food is amazing! And the prices are very reasonable making it an excellent value for money. Btw, Nick (the owner and chef) is such a lovely guy! We will be back.
Camped out at the top of the O2 Centre, surrounded by bland, cookie cutter chain restaurants, this place impressed me hugely and was a really refreshing change. I could have just walked into one of the other places, all of which look the same as they do anywhere else - how much charm does Zizzi really have? Does it matter where in the world you are when you walk into a Pizza Express? Chain restaurants suck for all of the reasons this little place excels.
I had the gambas, the cheeseboard and the calamari over some drinks and chatted with the owner who is a passionate guy. The food he cooked was fantastic, he walked me through all of the dishes and introduced me to what I think is the best vinegar I’ve ever tasted. The sauce with a those gambas was next level. Mouth wateringly good.
I’m looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu.
Do yourself a favour and ignore the chain places, don’t be enticed by their bland conformity, they offer you nothing and you’ll be missing out on a diamond in the rough if you don’t take a seat at Companero.
