We got married here 5 years ago, and friends often and randomly mention how much fun they had. I hope it opens again soon. The food was great, the service was great. Our wedding anniversary won't be the same without a trip up the northern line to visit.

After months of searching for the perfect wedding venue, we came across The Peasant, and we instantly new we'd found somewhere with all the attributes we were looking for in a venue. But what made the difference was the professionalism of Nick the manager, who guided us through the process of organising our big day, every step of the way. We felt so reassured going into our wedding, that it helped us relax and enjoy every minute of our day. They dressed the room way beyond our expectations, it looked absolutely stunning. The food and service were amazing. All our guests were telling us for weeks after, how delicious the meal was. We wouldn't change a thing, it was the perfect venue, which made for the perfect day. A big thank you to Nick and all the staff at The Peasant.

Really nice place. Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. Large Yorkshire's and awesome gravy! Meat portions on the small side but delicious all the same. Ham hock terrine for starters with piccalilli (which normally I don't particularly like but this had a wicked sweetness which was bloody lovely). Overall a great meal and the staff were really nice too.

A good Sunday roast and friendly staff. The portions were large! High quality meat and sides. There are vegetarian and vegan options and staff were great about allergies and preferences. Recommend it if you're in the area.

Our server from Ireland was extraordinary. He was super kind and attentive. The roast itself was subpar at best. It was quite dry and there wasn’t much of it if you ordered the lamb or beef. The lamb and beef were both too tough. They were also very dry and overall not worth eating. The pork was fine. The side dishes were exceptional though. The Yorkshire pudding was super crispy and fluffy and sopped up the sauce very well. The cauliflower and cheese was an interesting combo that worked very well. As a person who doesn’t like cauliflower that was delicious. The pickled cabbage on the side added a nice sourness that contrasted very well with the salty sauce. The best thing we had by far was the sticky toffee pudding. The thicker sauce mixed with the ice cream was amazing. We ordered an extra scoop of ice cream. The sweetness of the pudding mixed with the hot sauce and the contrast of the cold ice cream. It was an amazing blend. They did a great job with the sticky toffee pudding.

Decided to have Sunday Lunch at this local pub earlier today. Have to say we were not disappointed in the slightest. The staff are lovely, non intrusive and efficient. We were seated at a very comfortable table, everything flowed smoothly from there. The pub is large, quirky but traditional. The food is amazing, hats off to the chef, everything is a British Sunday lunch but with French influences and generosity. We had Calamari and deep-fried goats cheese to start both divine, the latter was almost a meal in itself , if we had known how substantial the mains are we would have given them a miss-note for next time. We then had the chicken and slow roasted belly pork(divine), with all the trimmings, everything seasoned to perfection, the cheesiest cauliflower, sweet braised red cabbage, enormous yorkshires, broccoli and orange and thyme roasted carrots, lashings of onion gravy and roasties capped it all off..Couldn't even look at desserts but if they are anything like the rest, they are special I am sure.Give this place a go? its is worth every penny..

Wandered in on a Sunday afternoon and were lucky enough to have a table available! Ordered the pork belly and chicken roasts plus some mulled wine and boy oh boy was it delicious. The roasts arrived in about 5 minutes, and were definitely some of the best roasts we've ever had. Everything cooked to perfection, fresh and beautifully presented. Perfect sized portions and well priced. The staff were super efficient and quick, as well as friendly. Had the orange floorless cake for dessert which I found a little too bitter for my tastes and the clotted cream too thick, but still enjoyable overall. Would definitely recommend for a Sunday roast!

very good midweek pub grab, in a super friendly place. sausage and mash was fab, pork belly good (as was the sharing meze starter). portions are very generous, so we had no appetite left to try desserts. long list of wines, draft and bottle beers, and a few ciders too.
