I went here for a work lunch and booked the lunch set menu with three courses and a glass of champagne. For £33.50 this has to be one of the best deals in London for the quality of the food. As expected the staff were very attentive and very good natured throughout. From the start the good was fantastic and a great experience. Before the first course we were given a selection of crackers made from seaweed, herring and squid ink which were surprisingly good. This was followed by a small but tasty soup, although I forgot to ask what it was. Then Icelandic Smørrebrød, a lovely combination of salmon, prawns and vegetables. The main course was a true piece of dining theatre with duck leg served on a forest floor diorama. More duck came with various winter vegetables, all of which was fantastic and full of flavour. Desert was a special Icelandic ice cream with Mandarin and rye bread crumbs which was a lovely delicate combination of flavour and texture. As an added extra we were also given macaroons and rich truffles. Aside from the quality of the food, the portions and extras made for a very filing meal which isn't always the case in these type of restaurants. Highly recommended and I will be back soon.

£35 lunch set menu (although turned out to be £48 after water + service), perhaps as valuable as fine dining can be in London. Service is pretty good, although some could be more attentive not to take food away before guests are finished...! Food is delicious. Ambiance is great so you can have a nice conversation without much noise.

Absolutely amazing experience that went beyond all expectations. I called in advance to tell them we were celebrating my mother's birthday, and they created such a delightful surprise! Food was incredibly interesting and the champagne was superb. The staff were excellent and thoroughly knowledgeable. The French lady sommelier with brown hair in a pony tail (I didn't catch her name) gave the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. We had a great 3 course menu and will definitely book for the 5 course soon.

Attended a cooking experience at Texture which included a hands on lesson in the kitchen followed by the tasting menu. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Healthy Icelandic cuisine with a starter of pea purée to die for. It could almost make me a vegetarian!

The restaurant serves Scandinavia food and the lunch menu we have is Icelandic. The food are good and very nicely presented. I was there for lunch gathering, the waitress explained every dishes and the food was delicious. I ordered the duck leg and it was cook perfectly, crispy skin and juicy meat. They cut the duck half on ur plate and the other half on the charcoal to keep it warm. They suggested us to finish the one on plate first then take the other half, but we found it drier. So it might be a better idea to take everything to your plate first. But i do really like the idea and presentation of keeping the duck warm by charcoal! And the sauce goes perfectly with the duck, a bit fruity. One of my friend ordered the cod and it was really nice too! The restaurant is nicely decorated too, I read some comments saying it is a bit noisy, maybe we went there for lunch, there were three tables including us but we did not find it noisy at all. It is just cozy and a nice place for gathering. I enjoyed the whole dining experience here. Highly recommend!

Staff are attentive and friendly. Food is excellent and you get what you pay for. You will find this restaurant living up to its name as TEXTURE is definitely a strong element in what they serve. The overall ambience is top notch and I really love the bar area with the open, relaxed seating in front of it. It’s adds a nice contrast to the more formal dining hall. Will definitely be back for more though slightly disappointed as my friend mentioned that the menu did not vary much from the last time he was here 2 years ago!

Amazing Scandinavian experience!!! Everyone is friendly and will treat you like VIP. Everything tastes heavenly and the name of the restaurant really makes sense once you step inside and have the hors d'oeuvres served on your table. Orhan the restaurant Manager made sure we loved everything we ordered, based on our preferences and allergies. Alan, the Head Sommelier took as on an exquisite journey, complimenting every course with unique wine choices. A perfect choice for every special or not so special occasion.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, and a good staff to attend to your needs including helping you decide on just what to get. The plating for everything was beautiful. That said this is a more expensive place to eat so be aware that you'll probably end up north of 100 pounds per person. Very glad I found this restaurant while wandering.

This is a lovely place with exquisite Scandinavian dishes. I went there after shopping on a hot day in London. The appetiser really cooled me down and refreshed my spirit. The starter was asparagus with goat cheese but this goat cheese was cooked in a way that is not like the classic one with strong tastes. This goat cheese is iced which can not only balance the taste but also fit the weather. The main course maintained the original taste and smell of the lamb with mild sauce. Finally, you can definitely sense how the food should be here.

The branch handles on the glass doors were kind of weird. They also screamed sophisticated restaurant. Just in case the nature of this eatery wasn’t so readily apparent, see the little plaque to the right of the door, proudly hosting a star. When I sat down, I felt that this was a place that screamed Michelin dining to the high heavens. When I had come in the door, I was immediately confronted/welcomed by no less than 3 staff who were eager to help me in any way they could.

The dishes were fresh and could feel the different textures in while eating.

Kristina who took care of my reservation was very helpful and also helped me with personalized menus.

A must try when in London. I booked Texture for a working dinner with my senior management team and 2 other guests.

Whilst the service was a little over-fussy at times for my liking and a little confusion as to who had ordered what, it was very friendly and efficient. Considering the quality of the restaurant it was more discreet than many high-end restaurants I've been to.

The food was simply outstanding and served impeccably. The amuse bouche which was a little celeriac soup set on a fake birds nest was a good joke.

I had the pigeon starter followed by salted cod and it was fabulous. My fellow diners were in total agreement. Given this was a working dinner the somewhat calm atmosphere- no distracting loud music- meant we could have a full business discussion but did not disturb other customers.

A real gem. So much so I even recommended it to the cabbie who took me home to advise his customers.

Hotel restaurants are often a bit "meh" but Texture most definitely doesn't fall into that category. The food is very carefully prepared and presented with some very original takes on scandi ingredients. We had the fish tasting menu, which I highly recommend. Each dish had several very distinct flavours that all worked with each other beautifully. It's not at all cheap but you are guaranteed to walk away satisfied with your meal and with the overall experience. I don't rate it a 5 purely because I think the decor lets the place down - it's a bit bland, unlike the excellent and exciting food inside.

I went to Texture for a business meeting lunch and on reflection it probably wasn’t the best idea as the food and presentation take front and centre stage here.

From the bread sticks, to the starters, mains and dessert assortment, everything was brilliantly presented and offered a delightful dining experience. The food was so beautifully presented that one almost feels guilty at eating at the risk of ruining what looks like a piece of art in front of you.

The whiskey sour done the traditional way with egg white was also great.

Looking back, it would have been great to have been there with a focus placed on the overall dining experience as opposed to the business discussions which were taking place. This is a place to lap up the ambience and the picturesque and tasty food served here.

The service is very professional and efficient which adds to the overall experience.

Went for lunch with a large group from work. It was a set menu and I was most impressed by the presentation. It looked like straight out of Masterchef.

True to its name the texture is the theme in whatever they serve. Once the starters were placed on our table the captain was quick to point out that the iced part will melt if not had quickly. Since I ate vegetarian, I polished off a decent quantity of pasta which was colourfully showcased. The dessert was rhubarb which was tasty.

The wine was smooth and rounded off a good meal.

The dining experience was excellent. Starting with the basket of thins – breads and fish skin and other stuff, served with a lovely yoghurty creamy dip. Then bread proper, which I found out was from Hedone, my other favourite Chiswick restaurant. (the room looks quiet, that’s because it was just past noon. By the time I’d finished, it was full)

Once again my carriage arrived and swiftly took me to meet Nespresso at Texture, a Michelin-starred restaurant by Chef Agnar Sverrisson and Xavier Rousset. The restaurant is serving modern European fare with strong Scandinavian and Icelandic influences using locally British sourced ingredients...Chef Agnar Sverrisson prepared a magnificent menu where he used no diary in the dishes; that was to highlight that recipes can be enjoyed without key ingredients and without compromising in taste. Like the new Nespresso Decaffeinated that we tasted at the end of the meal, we couldn't tell there was no caffeine, still holding an extraordinary taste! Stunning restaurant - love the decor and interior design, both classic and modern.

The staff were very welcoming and attended to every request. We were shown to our table, offered a cocktail - I definitely recommend the champagne mojito!

The menu is high end but also caters to many different tastes. We had the ribeye steak and it is the best one I've had. Small portions but that's the nature of "fine dining" and we left feeling comfortable and not full up - no food went to waste.

Lovely wine selection - variety of choices. We had the rose and it was perfect - and one of the cheaper options.

With this restaurant you have the opportunity to try new food and textures, such as the cucumber snow. Very inventive and something different.

Would definitely recommend this restaurant for any special occasion

A real find for visitors. Visiting London you really don't have much local information without consulting Urbanspoon. Even then, there are so many other restaurants in this crowded space.

The meal was excellent and challenging minds of the meat and veg crowd. I had Norwegian king crab to start and my wife, the asparagus. Mains of turbot for me and my wife, the suckling pig shoulder. Quite a portion for her. She did happen to return for chocolate soil, beetroot and milk ice cream. I chose a luscious washed rind cheese from Normandy.

We really enjoyed our meal

Texture is one of those established London restaurants that it's taken me ages to get round to visiting. I've heard such good things about it so it's been on my hit list for quite some time. Finally, on Saturday afternoon, I walked through the doors for a ladies lunch with Angela. As we don't get to see each other as much as we'd like to, we tend to do something a little bit special when we get together. Texture , complete with champagne bar, seemed to fit the bill nicely. As a n ap é ritif before lunch, we e njoyed some gorgeous pink champagne - served with some very moreish olive crisp bread (top picture) - as a belated birthday celebration for Angela. The ultimate way to start proceedings! Texture is a sophisticated Modern European restaurant set inside a grand Georgian building. The décor is very classic yet some striking modern art and elegant floral arrangements make it stylish. As the name would suggest, the food here focuses on combining and emphasising different consistencies.

The restaurant located just a block away from Selfridges. What is amazing about this place is the cuisine offers a blend of European cuisine with a big influence from the Scandinavian region, a place where the chef was born and rise. The restaurant holds one Michelin Star and surely they deserve that!

The food was fresh, pure and delicious. Simple and modern, a completely different take on most fine dining cuisine. The menu consists of the usual tasting menu and lunch menu but what is unique is the scandinavian fish tasting menu that uses local and abroad ingredients with Scandinavian flavours. A bowl of crisp nibbles, freshly baked sourdough and dips are served, a perfect start..After ordering, a complimentary cauliflower Texture is served… The dish was refreshing, served chill and the textures and flavour were amazing..

I went for the lunch set and for starters were seasonal beetroots with goat cheese and salmon with asian inspiration. The beetroot were amazing, really it was so good! Why? It was sweet, soft and slightly acidic that with the creamy goats was a match made in heaven plus the texture of the crumbs add that nice bite to the dish…

The salmon was also a great light start with delicate flavours and a hint of smoke that let the salmon shine and went really well with the asian vegs.

For mains, lightly salted scandinavian cod with jersey royals, leeks and Elwy Valley lamb shoulder. The lamb hands down was one of the best lamb dish I have.. Super tender, super moist and super savoury…Faultless!

The cod is also a delight, flaky and fresh and the grapefruit purée was not bitter and compliment it really well.

For dessert, Vahlrona White Chocolate mousse with ice cream, dill and cucumber and follow by coconut with chocolate, yoghurt and ice cream. I never have thought dill and cucumber would go so well with white chocolate and ice cream, fresh and acidic that perfectly cuts the sweetness of the chocolate.. The coconut was super good, the texture contrast was right and the flavours were light and not rich a perfect end!

Texture stands out from the dining scene of London through the emphasis on the unique combinations of flavours that just have to come for! And at £29 for 3 course lunch who wouldn’t want to?

The set menu at £21.90 for two courses and £26 for three has to be one of the best I've tried in recent memory. You know what I'm like about set menus – I steer clear. Ridiculous really, but there's something about going for the cheap option that makes me feel cheap, like I'm missing out on the real deal. And with clients, you can't always be sure that they will go for it – sometimes you can't steer them onto the cheap seats.

One definition of the word "Texture" is "the distinctive character or quality of something" and Texture the restaurant is all about character and quality. The restaurant has an attractive bar area and the service is friendly and professional. I have been here more than once and although they do a reasonably priced Set Lunch menu, I have always been tempted by the Tasting Menus.

On my last visit I had a delicious Heirloom Tomato salad, my favorite Texture dish - Anjou Pigeon with, sweetcorn and bacon popcorn, a rather moorish Icelandic Cod dish and a very refreshing Strawberry Textures Moscatel sabayon.

Eating at Texture is certainly a pleasure. Looking forward to returning in the not too distant future.

We decided to visit this restaurant after reading the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. So glad we did: one of the best dining experiences we've had.

So many menus to choose from, we're spoiled for choice. We opted for the tasting menu. Since the first dish we knew we were in for something special. Each dish was packed with flavor and the menu, on the whole, was well structured. The final dessert was amazing.

The staff is great: really friendly and interested in our views on each dish. A far cry from the stiff and formal service some high end restaurants.

Highly recommended.

Undeniably pretty plates arrive one after the other, but the there is a general lacking in substance in what you’re presented to eat. While the salted cod with lovely soft prawns, barley couscous and refreshing grapefruit emulsion is the stand-out dish, the preceding Icelandic graflax with accompanying horseradish and cucumber three ways is just too simple; certainly style over substance.

At the one Michelin starred Texture, cream and butter were actively removed to achieve that sense of purity. Instead of French ways of densely rich chocolates and layers of assorted creams, we were delighted with fruit flavours in the form of refreshing soups and ices. Mains were equally mild with high quality produce cooked with Scandinavian influences, the Anjou quail was topped with bacon popcorn, the Icelandic cod was only lightly salted and the grain fed beef had ultra pink cheeks (like a baboon’s ass). If that’s not enough, then a Texture fizz at the champagne bar would surely elevate things. Headchef Agnar Sverrisson opened Texture in 2007, after leaving the head chef position at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons . The restaurant gained a Michelin star in 2010 and have kept it since. Often named one of the most exciting restaurants in London, the venue prides on excellent service just behind O

I could sum up Texture in two words. Bacon popcorn. Need I say more? I think those two words alone are probably all you need to know. Chef Agnar Sverrisson, joined forces with Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons Head Sommelier, Xavier Rousset, to launch Texture in September 2007. The Michelin one-star restaurant doesn't seem to magnetise as much hype and glory as the celebrity chefs' establishments. Maybe Chef Agnar needs to show his face more often than the odd Saturday Kitchen show. I didn't hold high expectations when I made the reservation, not that I have anything against Icelandic talents, it's just not a country that openly celebrates its culinary success. The interior was contemporary and elegant, spacious with a high ceiling and mellow walls with hangings of splashes of colour. We settled comfortably into the sofa chairs for a leisurely lunch. We were introduced to the menus, an extensive champagne and wine list by the sommelier; the orders were taken by another server; then the sommelier returned to help us on wine; warmed rye bread and creamed butter were served by yet another server; finally a third server came by to collect the decorative plates on our table. Although swift and professional, we were slightly taken back by the torrent of services. C

Texture had been on our list of places to go to for some time and not just because of the new fascination with Nordic cooking or because, famously, Chef Patron Agnar Sverrisson doesn't use butter or cream to create sauces for the savoury dishes, rather, the whole place just sounds interesting. Chef Sverrisson is yet another product of the Le Manoir stable where he ended his time there as head chef. Originally from Iceland, he's now doing his own thing which encompasses elements of what is widely becoming labelled the 'Nordic tradition'. It's not so obvious here, unlike say North Road that's an out and our play on Noma's runaway success, but influences are there for sure. As for savoury dishes not having butter or cream, we're not completely sure whether that's a play on the Nordic angle or rather, a move towards a healthier cooking style. Traditional sauces are therefore are of course absent while dishes like cheese souffle on double cream that's served at Mayfair neighbour Le Gavroche

Bread was addictively good!

A starter of smoked cod was light and fresh. Gurnard with textures of cauliflower was technically skilful and clever.
