This is a small piece of food heaven. The founder is a true food lover, works tirelessly himself to ensure everything is perfect and each dish is clearly made with love and attention. With only a small number of covers each night it is a marvel that this place can survive at the prices charged. You will be hard pressed to find any place in London with better value for money than this.
I popped in here for my birthday lunch as everyone was raving about the food. I had the starter of the most tender guineafowl legs in a rich tomato and piquant sauce. Then ate a main of pulled pork with black bean risotto which was very rich in flavour. I was full, so didn't try a dessert, but the lovely staff gave me a packet of mints to take away with me as a birthday present. I took some time to take a 360 photo of the restaurant which, you can see on google maps. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. I look forward to trying the dinner menu in the future.
Feel compelled to write something for the first time in a while as I was almost put off visiting on account of the current Zomato rating of 3.2.
Bow bow - how was this arrived at when the five votes Holy Smoke has received to date were one 3.5, two 4.0 and two 5.0. That makes 4.3 in my book and much more appropriate a score for an intimate restaurant with a slightly offbeat take on British cuisine and a relaxed, friendly team to complete the picture.
Well worth a visit if you're in the area but what's with the scoring methodology, Zomato??

Holy Smoke was great on so many levels as a restaurant. An innovative concept based around smoked cooking, knowledgeable and welcoming service and excellent value are all huge plus points but the execution of the food in my view could definitely have been improved. £12 for the lunch menu for two courses is great value, and with a smoked sherry to start it could not be better. But the goat's cheese salad with pomegranate cream dressing and granola nuts was very dry and lacked quantity on the dressing which was a shame. Warm, crusted goat's cheese would have been nice too. The main of pulled pork with coleslaw and black vean risotto again was a delicious idea and the main part of the pork was cooked and seasoned to perfection. But the black beans and the rice in the risotto were undercooked nad not seasoned and there could have been more coleslaw, which, like the pork was also delicious. With coffee the bill was only £14.50 per head which was outstanding. I think I need to try Holy Smoke for dinner!
We have been to this so many times, this is one of our favorite places. This time it was a long dinner with the full suite of tasting menu and wine list. Fantastic food and great desserts. Variety in menu and great quality of food. We love coming back here.
I went to The Holy Smoke with my girlfriend and it is an upscale restaurant with a cozy and romantic atmosphere and is a great choice for a dinner for two the perfect place to have a good time. Being in a cozy atmosphere, you forget about what is it that has come and just enjoys everything happening! Not to forget the food, which was delicious and tasty. The dishes were well presented. I would definitely recommend this place.
My wife found this place off the beaten path on Leopold Rd. What a gem. Small number of tables but big on flavor. As the name suggests, smoke plays a role in the dishes, but not in an over-the-top, BBQ kind of way.
Have had three meals there, with a nicely rotated menu covering fish, meat and game. Wonderfully creative salads that could be a meal unto themselves.
Really would recommend this spot for a date night or with another couple or two. You will not be disappointed.
Oh dear this place is GOOD! Wimbledon is a bit of a no-man's land when it comes to proper restaurants and let's not lie - the Leopold Road location isn't exactly promising. But Holy Smoke has pulled it off, offering a delightful (and regularly updated) menu of smoked treats. No, this isn't your standard 'smokehouse' - it's smoked foods with a modern and international twist. You can't miss the venison, if it's on the menu, as it's sourced from the local butcher's shop - literally next door. The pork belly is also a must try and I've got it on good authority (Dad) that the veggie options are a cut above as well. With the fortnight coming up, do yourself a favour and ditch the parade of mediocre chain eateries on the Broadway and take the 10 minute walk to Holy Smoke - you'll be glad you did. Just don't take my table!
Wonderful boutique restaurant - with 7 tables and an amazing menu and wine list. Truly sensational food and super friendly staff. Booking is essential, as the locals clearly know how fantastic this place is.
Amazing food, wine and service. Every dish is packed full of flavour, the wine selection is excellent and the atmosphere of the small, cosy and friendly restaurant really adds to the experience. Highly recommended and well worth a trip if you're not a local. My scallop starter was superb!

Everything is on street leavel so steps envolved.
Quite simply, brilliant. The service is awesome. The staff are fantastic. If you like michelen star food but not the price. Go here. You won't be disappointed. The food is flawless. Have the scallops to start, then the Thai cod and then either the duck egg creme brulee or the brownie. Both are ridiculously tasty. The chap convinced me to break my booze fast while the family were on the wine! Can't say no to any pairing suggestion.

Loved this place. Great lunch menu, especially for carnivores. They obviously take great care with their ingredients. Hospitality is simple but courteous and all you need. Would have liked a slightly more extensive choice on wines by the glass. But a very credible option on Leopold Road.
The creative flavour combinations and intimate setting make for a delightful dining experience. The small lunch menu (4 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts) and extensive beverage menu are Holy Smoke's strong suit. What makes it even better is this is top notch food at very reasonable prices especially for Wimbledon. The service was attentive too. We have only been twice for lunch and would like to try the dinner menu one day. Highly recommended.
Sublime food, in a cosy ambiance. Excellent choice of dishes, with a great host paired with wine. Probably one of the best restaurants I have visited in the world. All the food ordered was excellent. I tried to resist sampling the desert before I took a photo and failed miserably. It was an awesome experience. I must confess to food envy when I tasted the creme brulle' though. I could probably return just for the desert. Starters and mains were amazing as well. Highly recommend this gem to anyone who appreciates a quality experience.

On reflection, our dining experience and the exquisite journey that our taste buds went through was a true treat. You'll be treated to superb ingredients, served via a masterful complexity of flavours and executed by an obviously passionate and talented chef. This culinary delight is all provided for at a more than reasonable cost.
In summary don't hesitate, book now and do yourself a favour. I shall be frequenting this establishment in the future when I'm next in the area.
Came here for my birthday and had a lovely experience. The ambience was on point including the music, decor and intimate environment. The food and wine was delicious, and the owner gave some sweet touches to the experience because it was my birthday. Definitely will return!
