If you love full British breakfast then you can’t miss this place! It’s a lovely old schools diner with nice warming food. The boss was such a character with amazing memory to record your order.

Absolutely Amazing English Breakfast! Although this place isn’t a large restaurant, it gets people in and out very quickly without a feeling of being rushed. The food was absolutely spot on. Couldn’t of been happier and the price is very affordable.

The best place ever for an iconic and real English Breakfast, totally worth it. Really tasteful, At the beginning you may think there's no place to sit and eat but believe me, it will be.

The most probably is that you think that you can't eat this traditional English breakfast, you may have a lot of reasons to think that, but the truth is that the most probably is that you are going to love the food from this place and is not only really good, is not that is cheap too. The place is not elegant, it looks rustic and old way to order and be served but it is part of their style. The miss that takes your order and says loudly with a strong voice that an order came out, she is a nice miss that does an excellent job. There is only one thing that I complain about this place and it is the lack of toilet 🚽 which one seems be necessary for the kind of food that they serve.

American take: Simple little diner. Order at the counter, take a seat, go pick up your order when it’s yelled out. Don’t be intimidated by the line or the no-nonsense sensibility of the place. Moves quickly and the counter folks are helpful enough if you find yourself confused at the register. Top notch fry up.

Absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the breakfast here. I got a full English set which included an egg (I got an extra), beans, bacon, sausage, a hashbrown, and toast. Food was fantastic and filling, the vibe of the place was a neat diner style. The woman behind the counter was so kind and was able to handle a huge queue like it was nothing. Not your normal waiter style, you have to stand in line to order (it goes quickly though!). Loved it so much went back a second time.

Such an awesome experience and the food was quick and delicious- we’re visiting from Canada and had the best time here. Many options on the menu and one of the owners we met is so kind with a booming personality. Would definitely recommend this cafe to everyone!

Best breakfast including the environment. Can't really affect the waiting crowd, but I loved the place anyway! We had a full breakfast with some extras, it was delicious, warm and fresh. The tea was also great and I just loved the lady at the counter. Best breakfast experience in London!

The woman behind the counter is an absolute gem. She managed a large queue while remembering every order and accommodated out of towners who were unfamiliar with the system. The breakfast was just as good. We ordered a standard English breakfast. Every item was delicious and cooked perfectly. You wouldn't expect a basic breakfast to be one of your best meals in London, but this place is excellent. Absolute top-notch staff in the front and the back.

Simple great food in a no frills atmosphere. You order at the front and collect your plate when they call your order. Th to beat the longer line by coming before 9. Regardless it should move quickly, the food is ready in less than 5 min. Came at 8:30 there was no one in line . Our meal was ready in 5 min. We finished eating in 15. By the time we left there was a like starting to form.

Great place to have a full English. Prices are decent and the service is good for a place that's packed throughout the morning. I swapped the beans for the tomatoes but you can go all the way and add whatever you want 😁

Regency Cafe17-19 Regency Street, LondonWhere in London can you get a full English for a fiver (well, £5.50 ($7 US) if we’re being pedantic) and visit the set of a movie? The answer is here at the Regency Cafe, a famous greasy spoon establishment made famous by such films as Layer Cake and magazine shoots for Vogue. We took a short walk from Victoria coach station after arriving early in the morning from the midlands down the posh roads of Pimlico in search of a good old English breakfast. In an area as affluent as this you don’t expect to find a cafe like this amongst the Pret a Manger’s and the Caffe Nero’s, this is old school – and there’s a big line. For the first 10 minutes or so of our experience at the Regency Cafe we got to admire the exterior – mainly due to the line being out the door. American tourists hovered around peeking through the windows and looking back at the line ‘maybe we’ll come back tomorrow, huh?’ they concluded. What many don’t realise is that the line moves very quickly thanks in large part to the flawless system they have going here. No one is allowed to sit down before they have ordered, don’t believe us? Well, there’s a sign…Everyone comes here, from tourists to builders. The factors of price, quality and fame are the main draw but also watching the team work behind the counter like a well oiled machine. The system is simple, place your order with the nice gentleman behind the counter who then bellows your name once your order is ready, usually within minutes. Take a seat once ordered and enjoy the experience of a traditional London cafe.

This is a traditional London cafe in it's decor and menu. Incredible value for money. The guy was working there was really helpful and friendly.

The English breakfasts look amazing!Although I only had a coffee. I asked for a latte and they don't do lattes but do milky cafe. This is what I mean by 'old school' - which I love! It was £1.10 or £1.70 (sorry one of the two I can't remember!), which is unheard of in central London.

Another great thing is the cafe being open until around 7pm, which is great after work considering a lot of cafes close around 5pm.

The cafe only takes cash so make sure you have cash on you. The nearest cash machine is only around 5 minutes away.

Located quite near to the Westminster's Abbey, Regency Cafe bustles with people during the breakfast hours of the day.
The popularity of the place is such that people have to queue up for their turn and sometimes the queue ends up ending outside the cafe into the pavement.
Quite a popular cafe in London, had to have a first hand experience of the place.
Tried their English breakfast, it contained a portion of baked beans, an egg and a pork sausage served along with fries. The breakfast spread tasted decent to be minimally critical.
Also called for a chicken Mushroom pie, to be honest it was a disaster, the chicken Mushroom filling was grainy and lacked seasoning to it.
To sum up Regency Cafe seems to be quite a popular hangout among the locals, although I was at deep thoughts to understand its popularity among the locals, also the place is a tad pricy.
Pro tip- Decide your order before you reach the counter, or you may be up for some horrid time early in the morning.

Regency Cafe is the closest eatery to my flat here in Westminster, and boy, is it a charmer. The greasy spoon (a quaint term the locals use here) takes you into a different era. And it’s easy to understand why films like Layer Cake have used the cafe as a location. As a neighbour, I can attest that this place has queues at all corners of the morning, including mine on this weekend day. It moves quick enough so be sure you have you order all worked out when you get to the front. The serving lady does not take any prisoners – and wow, has a jaw-dropping booming voice you won’t miss. I had the set breakfast deal with substitution of hash browns and black pudding (£6ish). Coffee was awful but the plate is complete glory. There’s well-cooked bacon, plentiful, crisp hash browns and plenty o’ bread to assemble a makeshift sandwich with. I’ve dined around a bit now to know a good piece of bacon when I see one. At under £7 this is one piece of history worth travelling back in time for.

Fomos no sábado e convém chegar pelas 8, 8:30. Enche rapidamente.

I was around Westminster area when trying to find a place to eat and got this high-rated restaurant as recommendation. Interior is good, with vintage touch.

Food is amazingly affordable and super fulfilling. I came with other 4 friends of mine and we ordered spaghetti bolognaise, big breakfast, penne pesto and chicken burger. Portion is generous and the food tastes awesome. Me likey its chips and hashbrown!

One of the staff there (i think he's the owner tho) is super friendly and he controls all the foods there before serving. Once he found a lil bit burnt burger, he asked his staff to change it to a new one.

Will come here again for sure once i visit London in the future.

Headed here for breakfast after a set of disappointments in the morning and this breakfast really perked us up.

It is such a lovely space, well lit and welcoming. Given the summer like weather (finally), the doors were open and even at 10am, we saw that it was quite full inside.

Based on advice from previous reviews and tips, we knew exactly what we wanted before we reached the front of the line and had cash ready for payment.

Full English and corned beef with a side of mushrooms with orange juice. (The full English comes with tea or coffee)

The mushrooms were really really good. The bacon was thicker than the really flimsy ones you get st some places, but not too thick. Sausage was lovely and the eggs, cut through the saltiness of the meats.

There were a lot of chips and we could not finish that, I also saw them left over in a lot of other plates around.

Bread is white, coffee is standard- with or without milk. This is not a fancy coffee place where you can order a low fat soy Macha latte. It's down-to-earth food, served up with all the affection of a harried mum in the kitchen at breakfast time.

While you may not find the perfect smashed avo or gluten-free muesli here, this long-standing London establishment is famous for its delicious and classic English breakfasts. Located in Westminster, it’s not uncommon to see a big queue of hungry diners lining up through the café and out the door, all eagerly awaiting their weekend fry-up. The food here is beautiful in its soul-warming simplicity, evident in the enthusiasm of their staff and the satisfaction of their customers. With such a great reputation, K and I absolutely could not pass up the opportunity to visit while we were in London, and we were so impressed that we returned the following weekend!

Sophistication is the death of humble life. This is perhaps clearest within the food industry, where modern cuisine pushes the boundaries through its sheer complexity. From the appearance of “fusion” to “molecular gastronomy”, it’s often that restaurants try to be ever more original and different. A break from all that is needed, and the Regency Cafe comes in.

You won’t find any smashed avocados on toast here, no artisan coffees and certainly no salted caramel pancakes, but despite this lack of essential modern-day breakfast foods, the Regency Café has a formidable reputation as one of the best cafes in London. Oft called a greasy spoon, which I take to mean it’s lathered in grease and tastes as such, it’s not a flattering name. Instead, it should be referred to as ‘no-frills’.

Breakfast. After reading a few reviews by locals I decided to take my family here for breakfast. It was a 15 minute walk from our rented Westminster flat on winchester street. This place is super easy to find located on a corner. I love that this is a local mainstay and non pretentious in any way. As soon as you enter you are assaulted by the smell of breakfast. The kitchen is open and a few meters from the front door. The entire restaurant is small enough that you're never more than a few meters from the kitchen. We queue up and started to choose our order from the menu board and special blackboard behind the counter. It took about 7 minutes for us to be able to order. The cashier/manager/order taker/coffee supplier/toast maker is all one man who reminded me of the soup nazi from Seinfeld only nicer. Just do what he says or you will be scolded. After placing our 4 orders we sat and waited. I gave the soup nazi my name and as each item was ready he would call me to pick it up from him. Coffee, toast, orders, I must have made 6 trips to him. Finally we all started to eat. Was the food great? Not really. Was it terrible? Not really. It was good to fair. Was the whole experience great? O yes. It was the kind of memory we will always share. The smell, the noise, the food. All just very London and very fun.

We went on a Saturday morning. Around 9:30 and we had to wait in queue for about 20 minutes. But once we ordered, we got our meal in about 10. Overall, very good. I wish we ate non vegetarian food.. Looked delicious. But the mushroom pie and omelette were good too. Coffee was surprisingly good.
Happy comfort food... They say breakfast is the best meal of the day for this reason. :)

A cozy cafe. It gets really crowed at lunchtime, however the service was fast and efficient. The English breakfast was pretty good but for me, not filling enough. Probably because I did not have the beans. I have never tried full english breakfast elsewhere so cannot really compare it to the general standards.

This is one of the best and most authentic "cafs" left in London. Jostling in the queue with labourers, businessmen and tourists alike, you're sure to be served quickly and efficiently and are guaranteed a proper English breakfast to fill you up for the rest of the week.

One of the main attractions is the amazing woman who screeches out your order to you when it's ready, but I have no doubt that people continue to return here for the food that errs on just the right side of greasy. This is a local gem and institution- long may it continue.

It saddens me that there are not more places like this in our city. The service is here is second to none, very attentive and very friendly. Was in London on a short visit, and made it a point to get a Full English Breakfast at the Regency Cafe since it was highly recommended by a friend. It was past 9AM when I walked in and the place was relatively empty. In addition to the Full English I ordered black pudding and hash browns as extras, and was happy with what I was served. Will certainly go back there next time I'm in London. I have eaten the Full English in other eateries around London, and find this to be among the best.

This is well worth a visit for the atmosphere alone, it's just full of character. You will most likely need to queue for service, alongside the local workmen, businessmen and tourists, but the small team that man this place are very efficient and the queue moves quickly. Love when the orders are called out by the women with the amazing voice (a tourist attraction in its own right!).

We had the Full English breakfast with Hash Browns and Black Pudding as extras. Not a healthy breakfast option that's for sure. This place is often described as a Greasy Spoon Cafe, but the breakfast was far from greasy, the eggs were very tidily presented on the plate, the bacon and sausage though were a little heavy on the salt for my taste. I could almost feel a coronary coming on. I liked the way they sold Orange Juice in a milk bottle, might go for that next time along with the Eggs Benedict they were advertising - less dangerous to my circulation!

The menu offers any kind of traditional fry-up you could want, alongside home-made pies, sandwiches, and my favourite kind of British classics like ham, egg and chips. They also have daily specials, including curry and fish on a Friday, all washed down with mugs of tea. Diners order at the counter before sitting down, and collect the food when it’s ready – announced with a gentle booming across the room. It’s the perfect system, with the steamed up room full of a mixture of people from civil servants to kids on the rainy Friday, but only a short wait for the food.

This is a good place to go if you want quintessential British food. It's basically a classic British diner with plastic booths, a counter where you order your food, and people yelling out orders. It's definitely a good place to go for breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday. The staff is also really helpful with recommending food to try and their suggestions are always great. Also, the Daniel Craig film Layer Cake was shot here so lots of people initially visit it for that reason.

I love a good fry up, always have and as long as my body can take them, I always will. I hope. I’ve always preferred my full English in more traditional cafes that sadly now seem to be very thin on the ground. Normally referred to as Worker Cafes, Greasy Spoons or just Caf’s, this integral part of British culture provide a food staple to all and sundry.

And the beans - I don't know how they do this, but the beans taste like they were home made, and yet home made to taste _as if_ they came out of a can. I mean that as a complement. This isn't an English breakfast that has pretensions to be healthy or gourmet. It is the epitome of its old fashioned, circa 1950 genre. The place feels straight of the 1950s as well, and (like the beans) genuinely so - neither preserved nor modernized. It's spotless, and favored by locals of all stripes. The man who takes my order (I've been three times) is very handsome and has a great voice. Alas, I don't think he likes me. But I'll go back again for the full English with toast and jam.

This is well worth a visit for the atmosphere alone, it’s just full of character. You will most likely need to queue for service....

Returning to the Regency is like stepping back to a bygone age of cooking. It evokes rosy feelings of an earlier time when people drank tea and ate dripping on their toast - even if that time pre-dates your own birth by a good 30 years. There's no drippin

You walk in. The noise hits you. The guy behind the counter screams and cajoles you, stops you sitting down before you order, lines you up, takes your order and keeps up with his stentorian voice.
