Hands down best Turkish food I have had outside Istanbul. In fact, on par with it. Authentic Turkish food, incredible service and classy atmosphere makes for one special night out in London. Go hungry, the food is worth the feast. Highly recommend to locals and tourists.
Frankly, one of the best Turkish restaurants I've ever eaten at - perhaps the best! Food was amazing, very authentic. Service was first class and ambience was lively. Very generous portions and value for money. Will definitely be back!
If I’m in the mood for Turkish food I normally think of heading to Harringay Green Lanes or the Stoke Newington area. But if you want a good Turkish restaurant in central London I recommend Ishtar. The restaurant is contemporary and spacious with 2 floors and a view into the open kitchen. The service is worthy of mention. It’s very good and is on par with some Michelin starred restaurants I have been to. It’s the little things that make a big difference. For example, in our group of 12, one of us needed a extra straw, the extra straw was brought out right away, on a plate and cloth napkin. I liked that. Food is presented in a visually pleasing way and is made with care and attention to details.
Came to Ishtar for dinner during the weekend and was impressed with the food, service and love music. The whole package was a treat, from the mezze starters to be different types of kababs for the main course it was all great. Konafeh for dessert is a must if you have a sweet tooth !
#ZomatoTuesdays. International time.
Went for a famjam meal here with high expectations. I can say that these expectations were actually met by the staff at Ishtar. The food was good and so was their service although there wasn't much space for the hostess to move about on/ with our table.
The mixed grills and the stuffed chicken were two of my favorites. Must try those two when you're going there for a meal.
Also, their lemon with mint juice was spot on.
Damage: No idea.
Go again? For sure. Next trip.

The pricing is also very good. A 3 course lunch menu which offers choice is available from 12 to 6 for £13.95, factor in a drink and service pushes you to just under £20. The options on the menu are impressive especially the non meat options, the salmon and sea bass seem to go down with the others.
Just like last week at Tas, I went for the safe lamb shish, £2 extra for grilled dishes. Portion size was good, not too much and not too little. The meat was as you expect, cooked well, juicy and succulent. In retrospect, I wish I ordered a non meat option. Im having too much meat. The chilli sauce is also something I review. Here it was home made and really good. A good blend of species and heat.
All in a all, this was a very pleasant and good food experience. I'll show you guys and yals pics of the starters and deserts in the next post.

This turkish restaurant in Baker Street is really good with amazing food.
I really like the grilled lamb chops and the grilled salmon but I guess everything is delicious depending on your preferences. They also have few vegetarian dishes and a small selection of desserts.
Saturday they have belly dancers and if you go with friends they have nice seating downstairs which can accommodate a big group.
Ishar Restaurant is a typical turkish cusine, mediterranean located on Crawford Street, close to Baker Street and Marylebone Station. The venue offers a good choice of seasonal food, prepared by fresh, natural and organic ingredients. In the restaurant some of the nights are with live perfmances like belly dancing and live music.
They also have takeaway food and outdoor seatings.
Can recommend to start with the Borek or with the Chicken Salad as a starter and the Mixed Grill or the Tavuk Kanat as a main meals. As a dessert would say to try their famous Baklava or the Champagne Sorbet( containing mixed berries, lemon sorbet and champagne). Great venue with more than warm and friendly services!
Delicious food, big fan of their yogurt base Ishkander.
Stylish decor and traditional music on Saturday. A little piece of Turkey in central London. Ideal for friends gathering, business or romance.
We had a fantastic experience! Great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service.this restaurant created a memorable and enjoyable time for us.
We had a very enjoyable lunch today at Ishtar. We had the set price(£30) x3 course lunch, which was very tasty. The service and ambiance was excellent. Definitely recommend!
Professional, polite, and efficient staff. Very beautiful atmosphere, classy and stylish design. Food portions are very generous, and food is absolutely delicious! My favourite was baklava dessert with ice cream - banging! Highly recommended!
If you are thinking of having a wedding or any kind of celebration, there is no better place in central London. Monika and the team were extremely accommodating before the day and the service was perfection on the day. Ali, Mohammed and Oslam ensured that all the guests were looked after and nothing was missing. The food is amazing and all the guests loved the meze starters. Thank you so much to everyone at Ishtar for making the day and evening even more special!
Lovely restaurant with amazing Turkish cuisine!
Polite,Professional and Courteous staff. All the drinks you could need too!
Its "Up West" so expect to pay for the experience! Have been a few times over the years and can't really knock it! Would recommend a visit, not highly but would still recommend a visit! 🎯💯
Beautifully decorated restaurant with really delicious food. Open kitchen is very good to see how professionally chefs are working on our orders. Service is satisfactory but not the best as they work a bit slowly and takes time to get waitresses' attention. I would say that service charge is a bit costly for such a service.
A nice cosy restaurant with friendly staff and delicious foods in Baker Street. There is a bar floor downstairs with plenty of drinks.
I liked lamb shish, the meat was so tender and tasty. The mezzes also were so delicious and rich.
The prices are slighlty high comparing to a kebap house but it is always full, service and atmosphere are fantastic.
Really enjoyed my lunch here! Especially loved the asparagus salad and lentil soup.
Went for dinner with friends - we shared the meze platter - which was delicious and freshly made. We got warm complimentary bread that went perfectly with it. The stuffed green parcels were very tasty. Drinks also well made. Try the silk route! For main I can vouch for the scallops. We left feeling really good. Only thing worth mentioning is the service charge which was more than normal. But definitely a place to visit again.
Excellent Halal place for a nice meal out. A very nice atmosphere restaurant serving great tasting food. Do note that they do serve alcohol. We ordered the equivalent chicken shish dish with a mixed grill option, which was a great all-around taster of their offerings. It was all very tasy and enjoyable but an honourable mention has to go to their lamb meat/shish which was amazing taste, succulent with juices and flavours! If they did steaks, i could imagine that being an amazing experience. Bread with hummus and olives given complementary after ordering. The place is clean, and the staff are well dressed and attentative. All things considered, it is a little pricier than i would have expected but nevertheless a great place and would recommend. Note: For anyone with mobility issues, their toilets are downstairs in basement level.
