before same days I went there with my family.....
we decided that we will celebrate my mother's birthday in the restaurant.......
then we were cutting the cake then .....
then I ordered pasta (tagliatelle) ...
the pasta (tagliatelle) was very delicious ...
then we came back to our home......
We bumped in this lovely pub in Rotherhithe after a long walk from Canada water and Stave's hill. It was just what we needed on a windy day. This I a Fuller's pub so had honey dew on tap which is a blessing. I tried their locally brewed beer called seafarers and loved it. The choice of beers is limited it sufficient. Didn't try the food as we were in a hurry, but would go in for food again. The ambiance of the pub is amazing and instantly soaks you in the history when Rotherhithe was a dock to Canadian and Russian ships in the 60s.
Probably the best value Rib Eye steak I have had for a long time. Good quality, beautifully cooked with excellent chips. Service with a smile. Not very busy on a Wednesday evening. They should be busier given the quality of the steak.
This pub does not have Thai food any more, but the staff remains warm and amiable. The menu has British with influence from other cuisines, which is very fitting for London. For example, we had a delicious bruschetta for starter and as mains a crispy dish of fish and chips and a nicely presented fried sea bass with mash.
They also have table service, so you don't need to get up and pre-pay your order, unlike most pubs. We stayed in the dining room on the lower floor, but there is a beer garden and upper floor seats too.
Wholsome home food. From the outside, its just another Fuller's pub... When you get inside the decor is like any other pub until you nose get woken up with the authentic aroma of thai spices. Sturdy tom yum soup, good jungle curry.
It's a bit different, but the Blacksmith's Arms has Thai food rather than standard pub grub - it's not the best Thai in town (not by a long shot) but it's decent and does the job for a small neighbourhood joint.
The chicken and cashew nuts is spicy and full of flavour as is the Pad Thai. The prawn crackers to start aren't your usual brand of limp white flaccid crisps but pink and red and zingy and spicy and go really well with the sweet chilli sauce that are there to dip into.
Service is a little slow but personable, warm and friendly and it's a good choice when you're in the neighbourhood, or as is most likely staying at the nearby hotel.
Very nice pub, with a very good staff. Prices are regular and the leek soup was very good 😊 Nice music all the way until end of our visit. Toilets are well maintained. Place is busy which is great and we were there from 4 pm on Sunday ☀️ There are some seats outside from both sides of the pub. There are seats for around 70-90 visitors. At least one tv so for sure some sports events are played out there which is nice. If you live close by it is definitely good pub to visit and chill 😎
Amazing atmosphere!! Live music, good wine, exceptional food, nice staff !!!
What else you can ask for!? 🥰😍
Our need for a late lunch and a pint on a Saturday had us looking for something good. Canary Wharf is mostly tourist and business-focused, but we wanted something more local. This pub definitely filled the bill. The barkeeps were very friendly and helpful. The food (sausage and mash; a side of chips) were very well presented and delicious. The overall atmosphere is great and the decor has that perfect touch if classic and comfort. Aside from the fact that the tap is rather limited and they didnt have BT Sports (so no footy on a Saturday afternoon?!), we still would recommend.
Incredible food ribeye was perfectly cooked and would have cost much more in the centre of the city
Update: came back and everything remained perfect. Feel I shall be returning to try out the rest of the menu
Lovely pubs with some nice food. We ordered the pie and Thai green curry. Food was very good, fairly decent quantities. We were in the outdoor seating area which was small but nice. Staff were good and accommodating. Prices were reasonable for the area. I would recommend it.
A really nice traditional old style pub, friendly atmosphere with a good selection at both the bar and on the menu.
Although I didn't eat, the restaurant area looked really welcoming and the food smelt and looked great on its way past me!
I'll definitely be back and will most certainly like to try dining at this lovely oasis of 'Great Publiness', so close to the riverside and marina walks.
An excellent pub for an evening meal. Ended up going here for 3 nights when staying at a hotel nearby. They have just put a stake sandwich on the menu. Recommend, very nice when ordered along with blue cheese inside the steak sandwich, served with chips.
I had a lovely pub dinner here with my husband. Everything from the starter, to the main course and dessert was sumptuous.
I didn’t expect the Salt and Pepper Squid Salad to be so flavourful. It was a delightful surprise.
The Beer-Battered Fish and Chips was superb. Really fresh, light and not oily at all.
The Sticky Toffee Pudding was still warm when it was served, and the vanilla ice cream that went with it had actual vanilla beans in it. So lush.
The restaurant had a cosy ambience and was squeaky clean as well. The servers were all wearing masks and gloves too. Very good COVID safety protocols.
I can say that it’s one of the best pubs I’ve been to. I’ll definitely visit again.
Perfect pub meal on a Friday, with tasty ales and great atmosphere. Crown it with live music! 👌🏿Amazing
We had a fantastic afternoon with great atmosphere. The barman was a total asset to the company as made us feel so welcome and appreciated. Hence the bad head this morning! Will definitely be returning … thank you, young man with the blonde hair you’re a true character!!
