This is one of the top ranked restaurants in a city which boasts of some of the world's best restaurants. So the expectations were high and I am happy to say that they were mostly met. So much so that I went there for a second time during my stay in London.
This restaurant has a warm, cosy ambiance. They serve modern European cuisine with strong Spanish influences. What I liked most about this restaurant is that they like to keep things simple. They don't overdo their sauces and let the ingredients speak for themselves, which is as well they might, because they use really high quality ingredients. Everything I tried, starting from the complimentary bread to the wood fired pigeons to the Iberico ham was of the highest standard.
The service was warm and friendly. They managed to find a table for me even though I walked in unannounced at dinner time during a busy weekend. The prices, by London standards, are pretty reasonable. Overall, highly recommended.
Went with two mates on a Tuesday evening, was told it had a good atmosphere and good food. When we arrived it wasn't that lively and we thought we'd made a mistake! We ordered some beers and looked at the tapas menu, ordering two each.
Needless to say when it arrived, it was a good choice! Chicken liver parfait, salmon gravadlax, king prawns, Serrano ham & melon, grilled octopus were all good, but the real kicker was the morcilla with quails egg, simply amazing! Three of us, four slices, some evil eyes decided who was getting the last slice.
We followed with choc fondant with ice cream and crumble with the same, both very nice. Cognac and coffees followed and the bill..... £150, job done, three very happy campers. Cheers to José who served us, great guy, knows his stuff and very professional. Only a 5min walk behind Victoria station, go there you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Great fix for good French food. ...The menu was a nice mixture of classic French fare and interesting new takes on old dishes. All of our meals were a hit and am so excited to go back and try more!
Great option for a low key but nice French meal in the neighborhood.
We had a good experience here, and counted ourselves lucky to have discovered About Thyme, well, in time. The food is fresh and good quality, the service is efficient and the price is reasonable. This is a place I'm likely to come back next time I'm in London (with a mental note to reserve some energy for dessert).
About Thyme is surely one of the worst-named restaurants in the country. Indeed, I’m struggling to think even of fictional eateries with worse names: Catherine of Tarragon perhaps, or Sage Advice.
Absolutely delicious food! Every meal was stunning - simple ingredients, combined with skill and joy. The person who served me was fantastic and gave great support and advice on gluten and dairy free options and adaptations. Cosy, relaxed place. Had 2 tapas and a dessert. Highly recommend.

This was a great found in the south London! From the outside it looks like the restaurant is quite posh and pretentious - but inside, it awaits you a really warm welcome and very relaxed atmosphere. There was a really well balanced professional level of service coupled with the personable, friendly, and attentive service throughout the evening, all the staff were working together to bring you the very comforting service - even to the holding of the door when we were leaving the restaurant.
Now onto the food.. amazing. Courgette carpaccio, fresh and light (probably better to use slightly sharper manchego) perfect to start. Yummy and perfectly cooked scallops and Gambas.. wished we ordered bread to soak up all the garlicky and chilly oil.. Duck tataki.. perfectly seasoned perfectly cooked and well balanced flavours.. onto the main wild mushroom risotto with generous amount of mushrooms, shimeji, shiitake, girolle, topped with cheese - the dream dish, and the main course duck, again perfectly seasoned and served properly med rare. We were full but we had to try the desserts .. desserts were desserts :)
Overall, wonderful visit, and this is on our very short list of restaurants that we’ll come back again soon.
Pre-theatre tapas. We thoroughly enjoyed all the tapas, which were a good size! The service was friendly, efficient and charming. Would definitely recommend and return there if in the area again.
Lovely little tapas bar. Tortilla here is amazing! Also love the scallops - they’re huge and tasty!
Friendly service, nice interior, excellent observations (there was a cool breeze and without asking, the waiter closed the windows). Really nice menu, full of Asturian favourites for me. Yummy morcilla! 4.5/5. To reach 5, I would have liked better quality chocolate for the churros, like valor

It's a good Spanish restaurant. Great atmosphere and delicious dishes. If you're looking for beer, they don't have a great selection, however they do have great wines.
I had an amazing experience in “about Thyme”tonight with my colleagues from work after a long day.

We loved this restaurant! The service was exceptional! We ordered a lot of tapas, desert and port. The food was excellent, especially the fried goat cheese with almonds and honey and the fried squid, and deserts…

Lovely restaurant with a lot of delicious choices. I made a reservation saying it was personal celebration and they offered a free glass of bubbly upon arrival for a wonderful personal touch. Restaurant is small and not noisy, very nice for personal service and no fuss!
It’s fab! If the friendly funny frontman doesn’t get you back the food definitely will. Loved it!
