About Thyme Restaurant

This was a great found in the south London! From the outside it looks like the restaurant is quite posh and pretentious - but inside, it awaits you a really warm welcome and very relaxed atmosphere. There was a really well balanced professional level of service coupled with the personable, friendly, and attentive service throughout the evening, all the staff were working together to bring you the very comforting service - even to the holding of the door when we were leaving the restaurant. Now onto the food.. amazing. Courgette carpaccio, fresh and light (probably better to use slightly sharper manchego) perfect to start. Yummy and perfectly cooked scallops and Gambas.. wished we ordered bread to soak up all the garlicky and chilly oil.. Duck tataki.. perfectly seasoned perfectly cooked and well balanced flavours.. onto the main wild mushroom risotto with generous amount of mushrooms, shimeji, shiitake, girolle, topped with cheese - the dream dish, and the main course duck, again perfectly seasoned and served properly med rare. We were full but we had to try the desserts .. desserts were desserts :) Overall, wonderful visit, and this is on our very short list of restaurants that we’ll come back again soon.

Friendly service, nice interior, excellent observations (there was a cool breeze and without asking, the waiter closed the windows). Really nice menu, full of Asturian favourites for me. Yummy morcilla! 4.5/5. To reach 5, I would have liked better quality chocolate for the churros, like valor A complimentary herb liquor to finish and a very pleasant hour here. Recommended!
