You could easily walk past this cute little coffee house if you weren't looking for it. It's found in the basement and a simple sign shows which house it can be found in.
The atmosphere is almost home-like and cosy. Everything is simple and you order your meal from a small menu at the counter and have it sent to your table.
I got the veggie sausage and egg breakfast muffin with a pineapple and mango refresher smoothie. I also got a blondie because I can never turn down a baked dessert. I was told there cinnamon buns are also quite delicious but I went on a Sunday and they were only available on weekdays. Oh well, another reason for me to visit.
The breakfast muffin was simple and filling, nothing too special. The smoothie was really good and was needed to wake me up early in the morning. Friend of mine also got the French toast which came as a large serving size and looked really good.
The blondie was absolutely delicious. I've only ever had one good blondie before and that was baked by a friend back home and I'm so happy I found something as good in London. It truly was the highlight of my meal.
Overall, this place is perfect for catching up with friends over a quick snack or breakfast.

It's easy to miss the Bloomsbury Coffee house, which is a shame. The quaint little place is hidden down a nondescript set of stairs, but if you walk close enough to the building you are able to glimpse a little of its loveliness in the whitewashed brickwork and hanging flower baskets on the outside. With many small coffee places, its tables are a little cramped, but it the advantage of being unseen is that you will more often than not get a table for yourself. Though it sounds pedantic, the size of the tables is great for working on in a protracted stay - none of that knee high or too small for a laptop and notes business. They work very hard to make the basement cafe seem fresh and airy with large windows and plentiful lighting.

While the food and coffee didn't stand out to me the way it did in somewhere like the London Review of Books cake shop (also reviewed by me), it is very solid stuff and should garner no complaints. It also makes up for it by being less expensive than the LRB. Do your work here, but don't take a date.

This is a very cosy place to sit, down on the basement level but still nice and light thanks to decent windows. The food on the counter all looked lovely though we didn't order any. My friends got eggs Benedict and French toast and assured me both were great. The coffee was delicious. I really want to come back to get some of the cakes. Hopefully soon.

Came here for our first breakfast in London and fell completely in love! At first you don’t realize the coffee shop is underground because you’re so amazed by the colorful and elaborate mosaic porchfront underneath its cute sign. The patio seating by the stairwell is something you might see on travel blogs or Instagram. Their homemade cakes are all amazing but I recommend the banana nut white chocolate cake (didn’t survive before we took a pic) and their London Fog is THE BEST i have ever had in my life. We ordered the smoked salmon with poached eggs and the French toast. Both were perfect - not too big or small, and the right type of homemade taste. They let us keep our tab open because they knew we would end up ordering more tea and cake. Highly recommend!

The is more a cafe than a "coffee house" as the coffee range is not wide and the baristas are not very coffee knowledgable. Nonetheless, it is in an excellent place to visit, with a quirky location, and a brilliant decor and ambiance. The staff is very friendly and the prices are fair. I can easily recommend this place for a quick cup of coffee and some food.

We were supposed to go to another coffee shop but had a massive queue, we found this one instead and we so glad we did. It's cute and cosy, with great food and drinks, we also stumbled upon the secret diary with interesting insights to people's lives (worth the read).

I went here for the first time as a foreigner and I can say it is a cute and tasty little cafe. I ordered a brownie and chai tea latte the first time I came. The service was quick, the brownie made from scratch, and the chai tea latte tasted great. The second time I came I ordered brioche french toast with the chai tea latte again. The french toast tasted superb with huge tasty blueberries and a mixed berry dip. Everything seems to be homemade which is why it tastes so great.

Great little brunch cafe in the heart of Bloomsbury. Had the full-english vegetarian breakfast, and it was delicious and not greasy at all! Will be going back for excellent coffee and tempting-looking baked treats as well.

One of my favourite cafes in Bloomsbury! This little hidden gem is a great breakfast spot or a place to grab a coffee and pastry! Highly recommend when they reopen!

Very nice little cafe off Bloomsbery square with a hearty hot breakfast menu and good coffee. Loved the lively but not too loud atmosphere, was perfect for brunch over a good chat. I loved the French Toast with bacon, the thick toast used was really soft and fluffy, just like the kind you would get in a good cafe in Hong Kong. This was complemented by the nice sear on the outside which prevented too much of the maple syrup soaking in.

The food was really good and the coffee was excellent. I ordered the smoked salmon with a bagel It was no New York bagel but the salmon and eggs were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a good value for what you get. I would recommend

You may have visited a basement level coffee shop before, but what about one in Bloomsbury, London? Bloomsbury is one of my favourite area in London. It is a wonderful place full of fashion, culture, intellectual, and education institutions, and every time I walk around this area, I feel nutritious in spirits. This time, I tried a small independent family-run cafe nearby. London Coffee Shop for Digital Nomads-14 Bloomsbury Coffee House Category: Independent family-run cafe Wifi: Amazing speed! Need a code to use. Download 61.5Mbps Upload 18.5 Mbps PING 7ms JITTER 0ms Seating: There are two rooms with tables and chairs, which could accommodate around 40 seats. A few power sockets are provided in the room inside, just on the wall under the table. Toilet: One for Unisex Ambience: As a basement level cafe, the natural light is a problem, but they have big glass windows and they also put many mirrors on the wall to make the space more bright. The staff is quite happy people, particularly with warm and soft music. As long as you avoid the lunch time, you could get a solo space. Anyway, a small but cosy place to stay. Cost: Coffee £1.95-£2.8 Winter Style Hot Drinks(Hot chocolate/spice latte/ £2.6-£3.5 Tea £2.15-£2.6 Fresh Pressed Juice £3.5-£4 Special of The Day Breakfast/Lunch Menu £8.5-£9 Something special on the cafe: (1) The internet speed is so fast, near the speed used at home. (2) They provide guests with discounts for staying at the St Athans Hotel upstairs. Problems: (1) The closing time is quite early on weekends. (2) Although they welcome laptop free, in order to keep the clients for lunch, they restrict the time for using laptops in the coffee shop (only between 12-2pm). (3) Some of the staff might be not that friendly and have bad attitude, hope the situation can be improved.
