This year I’ve resolved to cut down on the refined sugars. Then it came to lunchtime and I thought to myself: bageriet. Life is for the living and you’ll be living it up when you encounter London’s finest Swedish bakery. Bread, biscuits, cakes, buns, pretzels and brioche. For such a small store, Bageriet sure pack a lot of variety in. I found the service on my visit cold but the baking is hot. I had one of the Semlors (cardamon bun with fresh cream) and a coconut tart. These were outstanding. The spiced bun is a delight to eat, with the filling inside being pillowy. It’s not a super sweet cream and they give you a lot of cream. It’s quite a big size so possibly better to have had in two servings, but I couldn’t wait that long. The tart is also superb. It tastes of freshness and the crust are filling are perfect. Well worth stopping in for when in the Covent Garden area.

A small place in a tiny lane on convent garden. My friends took me here and I was thinking to myself "where the hell are they taking me". But I'm so thankful to them. This place is so cute and has such good stuff. Do try the spiced hot chocoate, princess cake, cinnamon buns and everything else. There is nothing I don't like.

Loved this little cafe, right in the middle of one of London's busiest areas. You find a little bit of paradise where you can take a little breather. You have to try their spiced hot chocolate and pastries.

Have you ever randomly walk into a cafe with no expectation but surprise you with one of best thing you ever put into your mouth? I just did!

Walked past this lovely bakery everyday but it's closed after 7pm! But today I managed to pop into the cafe and had a quick browse. I was overwhelmed with their Swedish bakeries and I saw this cute round bun dusting with icing sugar and a dollop of cream on top. The lady told me it's cardamon bun with vanilla cream filling. I knew I had to get it!

Despite the bun was chilled but the bun was still soft and fluffy! You could definitely taste the strong hint of cardamon with some bits. Second bite allowed me to taste the soft cardamon bun with the vanilla cream and it's really good pairing! Oh it's just sooooo good.

I walked out of Stanfords & the most amazing smell assailed my nose. It was like fresh wine was being mulled, it filled the street and it only served to make me extremely hungry.

I had bookmarked Bageriet, quite some time ago and since it looked like it was in the area, I decided to head there for a coffee. (Its in the tiny lane running along Stanfords)

Imagine my surprise when the aroma got stronger as I got closer to this cafe. I had to ask & the lovely lady manning the counter said that it was the smell of the ginger & spice cookies baking in their basement kitchen.

The cafe is really tiny, just enough seating space for around 6 people (tight fit) and a tiny table for 2 outside, but it was raining, so I just picked up a bunch of stuff to bring home.

On heavy recommendation, I tried the Princess Cake - this was layers of sponge with custard and raspberry jam and a marzipan/fondant like icing. It was so pretty & colourful & I loved the taste, but the Mr. wasn't too keen on it.

The Mazarin / Notkongress & Almond Tart were a amazing. My outstanding favourite of all the things I picked up on this trip were the hazelnut tarts. But then, I do love hazelnuts.

I also picked up 2 packs of tiny Swedish cookies - almost like shortbread, but Oh so good. They just melted in my mouth & ***Guilty Confession***, I finished a whole packet with a cup of tea.

They brew fresh coffee on site, but I didn't try any on this occasion. They seemed to have 3-4 sandwiches at the counter, but 97% of what is sold in this store, is firmly in the "sweet" section.

The cinnamon buns too are very highly recommended & they did look good, but I'm not a big fan of bread/buns. I'll take cake & cookies any day.

The prices are slightly on the higher side, but the quality is very very good.

Looks like I will be stopping here, each time I am in the vicinity.

I had heard about this Nordic Bakery but never came across it myself. However on a day I was walking from Covent garden to Leicester square, I stumbled across this bakery tucked away on rose street. It is a cute little bakery with some different and interesting baked items available. I chose the kanelbullar which is the cinnamon scroll. It was fragrant, warming, flavourful and surprisingly on the lighter side when eaten. The sugar crystals on top of the scroll gave a nice crunch when biting into it and the different in texture was very well welcomed.

The Swedes are really good at making furniture, writing crime novels and, as I discovered on a lunch break, baking. Hidden in a narrow alley in the heart of Covent Garden, I happened on Bageriet yesterday: a bright and cheery Swedish bakery. A nice and quiet find, in spite of it being in a highly touristy area.

Being half Swedish I always get excited when I can get a slice of Sweden a little closer to London, in saying this they have a lot to live up to. Bageriet meets and exceeds all my expectations! Great variety and quality of baked goods, definitely have one of their reknowned kanelbullar, or if you're popping in for lunch grab a open meatball sandwich, it will change your life. The staff are super friendly and all from Sweden, so feels like I've stepped into Stockholm without the 2 and half hour flight. Last but certainly not least they wouldn't be truly Swedish without a kick-ass coffee and I am pleased to say they deliver on this front too!

I visited this cosy bakery around 9am, there was already a lovely smell from the bakery. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and was happy to recommend what pastries to have. I had the vanilla custard tart and every bite was amazing. It had the right amount of sweetness but not too sweet there was a mix of the savoury taste from the pastry. I will definitely visit again! 😊

The pastries at Bageriet are a true testament to Swedish baking mastery. Each bite is a symphony of buttery goodness and delicate flavors that dance on your palate. Whether you indulge in their flaky cinnamon buns, buttery croissants, or rich chocolate eclairs, you'll find yourself completely captivated by their exquisite execution. The attention to detail, impeccable quality, and authentic Swedish recipes set Bageriet apart from the rest. A visit to this bakery is an absolute must for anyone seeking an unforgettable pastry experience.

Tried the cinnamon bun. The spicy aroma was amazing. Didn’t have this kind of cinnamon bun before. Would recommend Asians to try it out.

A small gem of a bakery in a pretty alleyway! Had it on my list to visit because it was one of the earlier opening shops at 10:30. Could smell the wafting aroma of cinnamon buns from around the corner, no doubt attracting a few people before me! Before I start on the food, the staff members were absolutely lovely and I really felt cared for when they asked if I needed an explanation of all the pastries they had! :) Had a Swedish Cinnamon Bun (Kanelbulle) and a Rhubarb and Custard Pastry (Spandau) as shown in the picture, and both blew me away. The cinnamon bun is not to be missed, it’s the best one I’ve EVER had! However, I have a soft spot for berries, so I would have to pick the latter pastry as my favourite :)

A little slice of home. As a Swede, I can confirm that this is an authentic, wonderful little cafe in the heart of London. Gorgeous buns, pastries, cakes and biscuits fill up this great little spot, and also recommend their Swedish teas. It's always a delight chatting to the people working there. Super nice, kind, professional and informative. I'm not lying when I say that coming to Bageriet is like taking a small break from the stresses of life, to just enjoy the simplicity of a good cup of tea and a huge cinnamon bun. The atmosphere just instantly relaxes and cheers people up. Give it a go, you won't regret it. ❤️ (the photo in my review is a few months old, they now have indoor as well as outdoor seating)

The raspberry pastry is so delicious: perfectly flaky and the raspberry almond filling was delicious. I also tried a nutty cake that was so flavoursome. I’ve tried a lot of pastries in the last few years in London and Bageriet is one of my faves

Lovely little Swedish bakery. Prices are quite high but the pastry we tried was generous and very good. Service was incredibly friendly. Can only recommend.

The cutest cafe in Covent garden. The staff was incredibly pleasant and the atmosphere was perfect for stopping in for a pastry and a coffee. I highly recommend the cinnamon roll and grabbing a seat by the window. Plenty to try and plenty of people watching. Will definitely stop by again when around Covent Garden.

One of my favourite spots to indulge. The shop's far too cramped, but 60% of the floor space is dedicated to the Swedish delights, so if you're queuing and you make it past the front door, you're close. This adds to the magic of the place. I haven't had anything average here, the textures and flavours always surprise me. The staff must get sick of customers obsessing over their choices. Lemon meringue tart and the raspberry/coconut financier thingy have been my favourites to date.
