Been a desi food lover , I always try to look for Indian cuisine options in London. And fortunately I bumped into Tamarind Kitchen last night. I can not deny that whatever was served to us was great in taste. Right from perfect spice to great presentation ...this place had it all. Just that I wasn’t very happy with the quantity of food in each serving. Servings were extremely small. Rest all good for sure.
Luvly ambience. Friendly staff. Scrumptious food. The aroma of all the dishes is still fresh in my mind. Thmubs up to the cooking team n others.wud definitely luv to visit this place again in future.
4.1 (current average on google) is a hilariously low rating for this restaurant. For my palate almost every dish had perfect flavor, spice, etc and also great presentation. Great service. And a beautiful restaurant.
Outstanding little Indian with top quality Indian food, a beautiful and helpful hostess and lovely touches throughout. The taster menu at £50 is an absolute steal and the wine is very reasonably priced. Bring a date, bring your business partner, bring someone you want to impress. The service was faultless.
Absolutely amazing service and staff.
Vishal who served us was such a great host and proactively attending all the tables and guests.
He recommended us the drinks - Lychee Blush and Passion Chilli Sour which were amazing.
Although Lychee Blush has to be my favorite cocktail now.
The food is ridiculously amazing and the best Indian food I have had so far in London.
The Paneer Tikka, Raj Kachori and crispy broccoli , I dont even have words to explain how good the food tasted. The Paneer was so tender and full of flavors. Raj Kachori, was a flavor-bust in every bite.
And the naan, so fluffy and crispy, not at all chewy. Daal Makhani was exactly how we get in delhi. And to top it up the Mango Kulfi and Kala Jamun. I was in food coma.
Well people might find it pricy, but I have to admit the prices are worth every bite you take.
I am definitely going back and you must too.
I'm not usually a big fan of Indian food, but Tammarind kitchen impressed me with their dishes and fast service. All the dishes I ordered were excellent.
Totally go back there again
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tamarind Kitchen, a restaurant located near the beautiful Oxford Street, just a short 7-minute walk from the Oxford Street Station. The ambience of the restaurant is truly inviting and sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The service at Tamarind Kitchen is impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels taken care of. However, it is worth noting that the prices at this establishment are on the higher side. While the quality of the food justifies the cost, it may not be the ideal option for those on a tight budget.
Speaking of the food, it was nothing short of brilliant. The dishes were not only authentic but also managed to capture the true essence and flavors of India. It is evident that the chefs at Tamarind Kitchen have a deep understanding of Indian cuisine and are dedicated to providing their guests with an exceptional culinary experience.
However, I must deduct one star from my review due to a small hiccup in the form of an erroneous wine order on our bill. We were served a bottle of wine that we had not ordered. Thankfully, upon bringing this to the attention of the restaurant staff, they promptly rectified the mistake and adjusted the bill accordingly. It is worth mentioning that had we not checked the bill, we would have unknowingly paid for something we did not order. While the restaurant was quick to acknowledge the mistake and make it right, it is still a factor that should be considered.
Despite this minor issue, I would still highly recommend visiting Tamarind Kitchen if you are looking for a first-class dining experience. The combination of the beautiful ambience, impeccable service, and brilliant and authentic Indian cuisine make it a standout restaurant in the area.
I'm not usually impressed with the food at Indian restaurants in London simply because usually they try and cater to the local taste buds which in fairness is probably the right thing to do, however leaves us looking for better options that challenge our taste (spice) buds. Having said that I was blown away by the food here! Bloody brilliant it was! Tasty, spicy (but not crazily so), elegantly presented and really bloody good! We ordered the crab cakes, the sheekh kabab, the lamb shank and the bhuna ghosht with garlic naan.. the crab cakes were delectable, with that tamarind chutney really elevating the dish. The sheekh kabab... Succulent, moist and oh so tasty, although I'd have loved some more green chutney. The lamb shank had the meat falling off the bone and the curry was oh so creamy but for me.. the bhuna ghosht.. OH MY GOD!!!! Slow cooked mutton that squirmed to the touch, the masala that had lived and grown with the mutton, one flavouring the other.. I went to dinner with the wife, but I think we both cheated on each other with that bhuna ghosht! Dessert wasn't bad, but really after that meal we couldn't really do justice to it. Definitely recommend it to all!!
Very fancy Indian food. I loved the lamb dish, very spicy but authentic according to my Indian friends. Garlic naan is also very delicious .

Beautiful place for a romantic dinner, the food was amazing and our table was served by Lakshmi, who’s was amazing as well. Highly recommend!
We have previously dined at Tamarind on Queen St which was amazing, and this one didn't disappoint either. Again the food was outstanding, beautifully presented and so tasty. The service was on point, very friendly and attentive. We look forward to visiting again.
We had an incredible dining experience at Tamarind Kitchen yesterday. I had the pleasure of bringing my entire team, including some colleagues from the US, to enjoy the delicious Indian cuisine. They absolutely loved it, and I was thrilled to share our Indian culinary delights with them. This was my second visit to Tamarind, and I highly recommend it to others. The food is truly exceptional.
