What a great place to start my London food journey! They are 100% Vegan n a vegetarian. Getting inspired from Non vegetarian delicacies and reinventing it for vegetarians is a superb concept. I have never tasted chicken in my life just there chicken burger was so chewy and the texture just made be believe that I had chicken that day but a yummier version!
Limited menu but great food quality.
Will rate it a lil expensive for the quantity served.
Humble staff and very active.
The interiors had a pretty unique vibe.
My favourite dishes:
Mushroom Dumplings
Hummus n Pota bread
Chicken burger
These are the must have’s.
Try it and tell me if you liked the place too!!!

Expect to find seasonal and artistic American fare served up in a 10- to 12-course tasting menu, and as the name suggests, plenty of “amusements.” Don’t be surprised if you find yourself catching a bag of popcorn from a man dressed in a bright-yellow chicken suit.

This restaurant is a must try whenever in London, you have to have reservation before showing up there. For starters you must order the Korean fried chicken wings because it is something! We also ordered the chicken yakitori which was very well flavoured and done! From the flesh and buns section, we ordered the crispy duck leg, the grain-fed Sirloin steak and the Spatchcock chicken as we were 3 persons, all the 3 dishes were amazing and they come with interesting small sides of different kind of pickles, we ordered extra buns as they were super fresh. Don’t skip the chocolate fondant for dessert. I must say that the portions are not very generous. The ambiance is nice, it is an underground place, the service Wasn’t great, you struggle a bit to get the waiter, although when they do come, they are very professional and friendly.

I've been to Mildreds a few times and it always surprises me just how incredible the food is.

I'm not a vegetarian, but my goodness, it just goes to show how you DON'T need to eat meat when going out when the standard of food can be this good.

The staff are fantastic, super friendly and very accommodating and the cocktails were GORGEOUS!

It can be a little cramped in here but it is totally worth it. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Food of yea babe! Keep on serving. Got full though hopefully all veggie vegan things so yea heaven.

Mildreds is the best vegetarian restaurant I’ve been to anywhere in the world. Soon after I became vegetarian which was 11 years ago, I wasn’t sure what to cook, ideas, how... When I tried their food, it was the moment opened the door for vegetarian food ideas! Since then, I don’t know how many times I had been this restaurant. Always great food and great service and give me new ideas! I wish I live in London so that I can come here more often!

First time in the restaurant and everything was perfect. Service and food were perfect and the time spend there was amazing. We had to wait just 15min but in the meantime we had a cocktail so honestly, not something to define as too much.

The space is gorgeous, being the natural light my favourite part.

Perfect spot to have a casual lunch or dinner.

Totally recommend :)

While we did have a wait - it was well worth it. Very delicious food. For starters I had the gyoza dumplings and a delicious chickpea dish. Can't remember my main course dish. Had my first espresso martini here - so delicious. And my company enjoyed their meals too. Very friendly staff.

Mildreds is an excellent place to have lunch or brunch while taking a break from shopping, as it is conveniently located in Soho. Mildreds offers a wide range of healthy vegetarian options, from salads to burgers, to larger mains. I highly recommend the large detox salad with marinated tofu for lunch if you feel you need to detox, however, I believe you won't be disappointed with any of their dishes, as they all looked fantastic! I definitely plan on going back.

Got to Mildreds at around 6.30ish on a Tuesday evening. It was really busy, the people in front of us in the queue were asked to wait 45 mins. We were luckily given the choice of a shared table which was immediately available. The restaurant is so much bigger on the inside with multiple floors. I was so excited and everything on the menu looked delicious. Got the classic burger and eastern promise cocktail. The burger was delicious. Really excited to come here again and try something else.

Mildred's vegan/veggie burgers are a good size. They're filling, tasty and actually taste like meat, without the grease that you usually get with a meat burger!

There is always waiting even for lunch on a weekday and they don't take reservations. But once you get past and find a table and order the food, the wait is worth your time. The food is sublime. There is no other restaurant that comes near Mildred's.
This only drawback of this place is that the service is very slow, but the taste of the food makes up for it

We started off with a small portion of the lemon and ricotta tortelloni, saffron cream sauce, peas, broad beans, and asparagus. Priced at £7, it felt a bit steep for 3 tortellinis (particularly as my burger was the same price!), but the flavours were sublime. Mildred’s add the lemon directly to the ricotta, rather than keeping the flavours separate, which was a pleasant surprise. The sauce was creamy without being overwhelming, and the saffron taste was subtle. A winner all around.

The food is AMAZING!!! And the service was average. I personally am not a fan of service charge and when asked to remove, the reaction of the waiter completely changed which I found very unprofessional and off putting. Because service charge is, of course, optional. However this does not impact the quality of the food and environment.

Finally I got to try the most famous vegetarian restaurant in London! Mildreds opened in 1988 and hosts an impressive selection of internationally inspired vegetarian food from dumplings to burgers. For a restaurant that has been around for three decades and constantly has queues, I came with very high expectations.

Mildred's makes me happy. I've been here three times, and each time I can't go past the risotto cake. It's a cute little vegetarian restaurant that's been around for a gazillion years and is reliable and delicious. It apparently can be hard to get a table, but I've never struggled. Perfect for lunch :)

My friend recently came back from Iceland (lucky girl) so we decided to go for dinner at a nearby vegetarian/vegan restaurant because it had amazing reviews. I, of course, stalked the restaurant on instagram and zomato way before we went there and there was one dish in particular that had great reviews- the Polish burger.

Really enjoyable evening at Mildred's with a few set backs. The line for a table is about an hour long, so I would only recommend going if you have the time to spare and as a once off experience. After a long wait you'll be seated at a tiny table on top of the person next to you if you aren't sharing a table with them - so it's cramped with no privacy in your conversation at all. But, it's also means the vibe is buzzing.

The menu is deceiving for health nuts and vegans - we ordered basically all you could for a healthy vegan diet which wasn't much (hence won't be returning as won't be able to try anything else). Desserts all have refined sugar and didn't seem particularly worth the indulgence.

That said, the food we did have was super delicious and full of amazing flavours - the cauliflower side dish is a must, probably one of the best cauliflower dishes I've had - hence the high rating.

I've been to Mildreds on several occasions for business meetings, birthdays and friendly dinners. Every single time they deliver on all fronts. Service, food, and price.

Most recently, I went for a friends birthday. We were 14 people and we got the upstairs dining room. Prior to our arrival at Mildreds, I made a special request for the pecan pie which was taken off the menu (seasonal purposes), it was the birthday girls (Deema.ac) favourite dessert and when she didn't find it on the menu she was distraught. Mildreds management however, came through. Seriously, they called me back the next day to confirm that we will be getting a whole pecan pie.

At the dinner, we were never in need for anything. I think the entire table ordered everything off the menu. It was, as they say, off the hook. We started with gyozas, ravioli, houmus plates and more. They were all a massive tease for what was to come. The mains, I ordered the burrito and a detox salad as a side. But, obviously, I sampled every other plate. Honestly, their giant risotto was the star of the show. Creamy, crunchy, light and satisfying, this dish is a beautiful sum up to what Mildreds is.
Price wise? Incredibly fair, three courses, plus a few extra dishes and wine racked us up to a fair £45 per head. You get a lot less for that price in most places.
I've heard they've started doing brunch, which I can't wait to try. Yes Mildreds, you've pleased me on more than enough occasions to truly recommend you.

Thanks guys!

It wouldn't be my usual practice to select an all vegetarian restaurant to meet a friend for lunch especially considering neither one of us are vegetarian! But it worked out rather well, this was my 3rd consecutive day in a row of eating out and even though I had tried to be more mindful for the first 2 days, I was still feeling a little meated out and my friend, who is more than half way through her pregnancy, was complaining of an aversion to meat in general, which proved rather a lucky coincidence. I saw that you couldn't book ahead but I didn't expect it to be as busy as it was for a weekday lunchtime.

It seems they have some takeaway salad-like options that the work crowds often come and collect and order in advance. It was a bit haphazard trying to see where that queue ends and whether there was a separate queue for diners wanting to eat in more formally. Numerous staff were milling around busily but not one person stopped to ask me if I was ok or whether I had been served until I made it quite apparent.

The service in general, I found, would not improve much whilst I was there. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong. The waiting staff all did their best to serve promptly given how busy it was but I generally found that they were a little unwelcoming in nature, constantly kept trying to rush us by walking over and peering to see if we had finished (even when lots of other tables were available and the lunch crowds were dying down) and generally, showed a reluctance to smile.

The food, in contrast though, was fantastic. They don't restrict themselves to one type of world cuisine so the menu features everything from burritos to samosas and everything in between. You can choose between a main dish, salads or a selection of small plates or sides. We chose this last option selecting some flatbread with hummmous and baba ganouj, olives, sweet potato fries which come with a side of basil mayo (vegan friendly and SO delicious and moist) and or chipotle ketchup. The pea and potato samosas had a perfect light crispy pastry and went really well with the sweet mango chutney and I have no idea what they put in those vegetarian gyoza but they tasted every bit as mouthwatering as the meaty equivalents I am usually accustomed to.

Neither of us needed a dessert after that but neither of us could resist the hearty choices on offer. My friend went for a warming crumble with custard whilst I chose the chocolate and peanut butter brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream (always a peanut butter fan) and other than complaining about the sheer size of this delicious brownie, I really couldn't fault it!

I would return here again to taste the delicious food and try some of the other dishes but given the mixed service, I am not sure I would choose it for a special occasion type of dinner or meal.

Great establishment in the heart of London especially if you are vegetarian. Service is top class despite long waiting time as they don't take reservation but one can try very affordable cocktails at the the bar while waiting to be seated. We got the table upstairs which was very cosy and chiq. Food was awesome. The sweet potato fries and hummus plate was lovely. Mains of risotto and stir fry was deliciously fresh. Must visit if you like great vegetarian food.

The small 14 tabled restaurant is situated in the middle of all the buzz of Soho. The restaurant a very short and concise menu with all the dishes Vegetarian.the biggest negative about this place is that there are no reservations. ( I guess they would be booked weeks in advance if they had one).  So if you want to eat here prepare yourself for a good wait for about 1 hour. I have tried a wide variety of the menu and its absolutely stunning. The food is well cooked and served exactly in the right portions. The desert menu though lacks a bit of creativity but what they have in the menu is well prepared and quite tasty. The bar and the drinks section has quite some variety and is good. So your drink might be one of the ways you can make your wait less painful :).Food - 4.5/5Service - 4/5Menu and location - 4

I was incredibly sceptical about going to a vegetarian restaurant. Call me narrow minded but it just isn't usually my bag. When my vegetarian friend suggested though, I thought it had to be worth a shot.

To start, my friend and I shared a plate of halloumi which was exceptionally tasty and balanced the salt of the cheese with a sweet sauce and wilted spinach.

For my main, I opted for the Sri Lankan sweet potato curry. The dish arrived as a big bowl of warming curry, packed with tastebud tingling flavours and a hearty sized portion.

When pudding rolled around, even though I was quite satisfied, I chose the banoffe creme brûlée and I can honestly say this was one of the best puddings I've eaten.

Mildred's serves (overall) very good vegetarian food. The reason for the 3.5 is that they don't take reservations and won't let you leave your name and number and leave. They ask you to wait in the overly-cramped bar which I think is a bit cheeky. HOWEVER once your table is finally ready, the service and the food is very good. I think the interior needs an injection of character as it's a little stark and unimpressionable, but the room full of happy chatter and busily scoffing diners gives the place good ambience. The highlights of our meal were the Thai tofu fritters with mango, coconut and chilli sauce (delish), the fresh tortellini filled with pumpkin and ricotta, with chestnut mushroom, white wine cream sauce, drizzled with truffle oil (SUBLIME), and the sweet potato wedges with bucket loads of their house basil mayo - the best I have EVER had. Avoid the tagine which lacked flavour and was very dry/carb heavy, and their maple pecan pie with vanilla ice cream could be vastly improved upon. The parts of our meal we did enjoy though were exceptionally good and overall Mildred's is good value. You can read my full review on my blog :)

This is the best place if you love the hustle and bustle of the city alongside your health kick. I loved that we were given the option to sit with strangers and meet new people, which we did.
The staff were knowledgeable about their dishes and seemed interested in what they're selling. We had the burritos and burgers.. Tip: the burgers are pretty big... So if you're hungry they're the thing to go for.
My only (teeny tiny recommendation) make the water jugs bigger so we don't need to pester the staff for more :)

To embrace my new found interest in veggie food, I went out for dinner at Mildred's with two friends. Opened since 1988, Mildred's serves only vegetarian food. It was my first time at Mildred's, while my vegetarian friend is a regular there.  We arrived at 7pm and the restaurant was already packed, we were asked to wait 45 minutes to get a table at the bar as their rule is 'no reservations'. After 20 minutes and a passion fruit cocktail only we managed to get a table on the ground floor.  I was impressed the menu had so many options, and of course all 100% veggie. My friend and I shared two starters, the first one was pan fried halloumi, the cheese was soft and very tasty; usually this cheese doesn't have a strong taste but this time the balsamic glaze added a very nice sweet touch to the dish. Pan fried halloumi, cherry tomato and wilted spinach with balsamic glaze. The second starter was a mexican platter, they recommend this dish for 2 person. Guacamole was ok, nothing special but it was good. My favourtie dish from the platter was brie and jalapeno quesadilla with pico de gallo. The brie was melted in the quesadilla and jalapeno gives a little bit of spice to the dish. Spicy black turtle beans were fine but not my cup of tea. Mexican platter, spicy black turtle beans, chipotle sour cream, guacamole, corn chips, mango, brie and jalapeno quesadilla with pico de gallo. Our verdict: trendy, hip, but a little crowded, even on a Tuesday night. The food was good – not mind-blowing, but you aren’t paying mind-blowing prices either. We’d definitely go again if it weren’t so noisy and packed, but given the atmosphere, next time we go for vegetarian food we’ll try somewhere new. To those who want to try it out, we’d give a thumbs up, but perhaps recommend going earlier in the evening to avoid after-work crowds.

We were the first into Mildreds at 12 noon but it filled up very quickly (it’s quite small – probably under 50 covers) and the take-away salad bar was immensely popular too. We both ordered a fresh juice made of carrot, apple, beetroot and ginger @ £3.75 (so good we both slurped through our straws ’til our glasses were completely dry). For a starter we shared Thai tofu fritters with mango, coconut and chilli sauce @ £6.25 (excellent; an equal alternative to my usual choice of Thai tod mun fishcakes when ordering Thai starters) followed by a large mixed salad plate (for G) and I had a black bean burrito.

The verdict: Excellent service (chipper waiting staff), really good menu choices (I was spoilt for choice and didn’t miss meat at all, even though I’m not a vegetarian) and excellent, freshly prepared food. I’ll be back.

I went to Mildreds with my friend on my birthday. And I couldn't have chosen better for a BD foodie night.

I arrived shortly before 6 PM and it already was almost full. (on a Tuesday night!) About 30 mins later there were already lots of people waiting at the bar for free tables. As soon as you are seated, you get some water. That hardly ever happens to me in London restaurants, while in Hong Kong it's a "standard procedure".

I ordered artichoke for a starter. It was insanely delicious! Probably the best artichoke I've ever had. I'll certainly visit Mildreds again, if not for anything else than to have that particular dish again.

For mains my friend ordered the risotto; she was very happy with it. I had the burrito. It was a bit spicy, came with two dips - sour cream and guacamole - and some greens. Very nice, very filling.

We also had coconut water and kale/cucumber juice. The juice was very nice, refreshing, not sweet.

Recently I have tried to eat less meat and more vegetarian when eating out or cooking at home. Halloumi, paneer, cereals & quorn substitutes are the new ingredients in my cupboard and fridge. With good vegetables and sauces I realised that meat free dishes can be as good and tasty as meat dishes.

On that night, I went for one of their special pasta of the day. It was delicious. Butternut squash is one of my favourite Autumn vegetables and mixed with goat's cheese...this dish just sounded like heaven to me. The perfect comfort veggie food. The cream with basil was perfect to link all the ingredients from the dish together.

My other friend went for the other pasta dish which is on the current menu everyday, when it arrived I was a bit jealous as it looked good too. The tortellini was very nice and a little bit sweet. The best part of this dish was sauce with mushroom and truffle oil, so creamy and tasty.

Overall I really liked my dinner at Mildred's I didn't miss meat at all. All options sounded great, It took a bit of time to choose what we wanted qnd it was a really good value. We were all too full to get a dessert. We saw some cake on the table next to us that looked delicious, maybe next time I won't eat too much from the starter to leave some place for dessert.
Service was good, not special but they were at least attentive to details which is a good thing considering they were extremely busy (apparently it is like that every day).
Since my visit I discovered that they also do take away, I think I might get my Meat free monday on more often - and of course preorder to avoid the wait.

7/10.

Food: 4/5
Service: 4.5/5
Ambiance: 4/5 (Nothing great, but lively & crowded atmosphere was nice to see in a vegan friendly vegetarian place)

Visited this place few weeks ago with relatives and had a great time. Would have given a +0.5 rating if they were completely vegan :-) Nevertheless a great place.

With Christmas just around the corner and everybody including myself getting into the spirit of it, I must say I have been thoroughly enjoying myself with all the activities that I have been doing, including going to see The Rat Pack Christmas show, attending various food blogger events and exploring the pretty London Christmas lights. It is amazing what starts to happen when you walk away from something that is draining you, and totally not aligned with what it is that you want for your life.. Yes I am talking about my old job!

Anyway, back to the review. This week I went down to Mildred’s (which I have been meaning to go to for some time) to try their Sri Lankan Curry. I make Sri Lankan curry myself so I knew I would be hard to please, especially as it’s not actually a Sri Lankan restaurant… or my Sri Lankan friend’s house!

Mildred’s is a vegetarian restaurant in Soho, but has many gluten-free and vegan options which gives me no reason to cheat, not that I cheat often… or do I?

The restaurant itself has a soft fresh colour palette of greens, whites and beige, is quite modern with simple furniture as well as having patriotic art on the walls, a little different to the typical vegetarian/vegan places which are in many cases quite rustic and hippyesque!

I got down there in the afternoon around 3.30ish and there were just a few people having some late lunch with lots of laughter and chatter adding to the relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.

As I was looking through the menu I was beating myself up for having an orange hot chocolate before I came, as I was not really that hungry any more and there were so many things I wanted to try! But I didn’t come all the way down to central to not try as much as I could fit in, so without hesitation I ordered the Sri Lankan curry and beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger juice – one of my current obsessions.

Whilst waiting for my food to arrive I chatted briefly with the waitress about cold-pressed juices and how getting a NutriBullet changes your life; however they are not cold-pressed.. My food arrived before I even got to check all of my social media which is handy when you are dining by yourself!

It came in a hearty bowl full of yellow basmati rice with peas, surrounded by the creamy Sri Lankan sweet potato curry with cashew nuts and was accompanied by coconut tomato sambal, with some fresh coriander stalls. It smelt delicious, the warm spices making it so fragrant with the cardamom being quite dominant in particular.

This is the perfect dish for you to warm up with, having the warming ginger and the medium spice chillies that add the lingering spice to the super creamy coconut base curry. I particularly enjoyed having the curry and the rice with a big dollop of tomato sambal, which added a bit more flavour to the creamy curry and giving it a bit of a kick, having a tomato base. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was pleased to find out the fact that it was just as nice looking in real life as it was in the pictures; it wasn’t just the filters or the angles.

Next up I went for the daily special dessert, which had to be the chocolate truffle fondue with cherry compote and vanilla ice cream! To this day nobody can match the chocolate fondue they serve with pistachio ice cream at Meat & Wine in Sheperds Bush- but this one was gluten free and vegan!

It was warm but not gooey in the middle, as I like it, maybe that was down to the fact that it was a healthier version of my all time favourite dessert or maybe it was the fact that it was a truffle fondue. I enjoyed the cherry compote more than the chocolate fondue unfortunately, but that could have been down to the fact that I had that bloody hot chocolate before coming and I was already in a chocolate coma, school boy error really!

Mildred's is a culinary joy. It provides the vast range of vegetarian food that I feel is missing in restaurants and stores across London. Mildred's serves up generous portions of fresh, organic food, made with love and passion. The Sri Lankan Sweet Potato and Cashew Nut curry was an absolute delight, beautifully delicate and aromatic, it felt nourishing and comforting to eat. The huge variety of dishes from around the world will mean that is something for everyone, yes, even avid meat-eaters can enjoy their time here! With very affordable, fresh food, Mildred's is a must for anybody looking to eat out in London. It is usually always busy though, so make sure you're there early!

We thought of trying this place for a veggie break as this place offers only vegetarian. The staff is quite warm, friendly and efficient and the place is cool as well. Although it becomes totally packed in the busy hours, still it is pretty comfortable. But the main thing, the food, was just okay and nothing extraordinary. For starters, The mexican platter wasn't that good, quesadillas had mangoes in them which didn't suite our taste but the stir fry was awesome and that's it. The food was average and did not meet our expectations but the prices were average as well and so it didn't pinch us. Overall the food did let us down but still it is a decent place.

This is the best place for vegan food in my knowledge. The menu had a wide range of options and my friend and I couldn't thank any less. Even though this place is not that upbeat but it makes for a good hang out with friends and the food is really awesome as well.

I went with a colleague to this place for a vegetarian bite. Though I am not a vegetarian, I find this place quite good because it has quite an interesting menu. There are options for people who are gluton and diary intolerant which is rare. I am not sure if there is any option of booking here because whenever I have always gone without it.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant since a very long time. Luckily, there was no queue to be seated and we were given a table immediately. We ordered some starters (The Chinese fried dumplings are a must-have, give the Mediterranean platter a miss) and some drinks. The starters arrived before the drinks, which was a bit of a put-off. The mains we ordered were delicious and the portions were enormous. The dessert (chocolate and peanut butter brownie) was also delightful. The staff was friendly and hospitable. But the tables were way too close to each other. It is a bit-overpriced, but definitely coming back for a great meal.

I am not a great fan of pure vegetarian restaurants, but having been recommended by a friend, I did go to this place. Much to my surprise, I was taken aback by the service and quality of brilliant food being offered. Get read to wait to get a table as this place is a crowd puller. I would definitely go back to this place to have a pleasing dinner but not for the noisy set up.

I didn't understand why people would wait for hours for vegetarian food and now i know! Being a meat lover and Chinese ,this recommendation coming from me is crucial. I think the customers should definitely try the grilled halloumi .The food in general had impeccable flavors.
I could turn vegetarian if the veggies tasted like this always.

I really like dining here. It was a weekend night, so the place was packed. We had to wait forty-five minutes to get seated, but we waited at the bar with delicious cocktails. We were seated between two other tables, and the setting was very close and there was little space in between. The food was very tasty- my burger and fries tasted heavenly. the only issue is the closeness of the table, but given the huge crowd, that is excusable. I look forward to coming here again.

This place is buzzing with people all the time because it serves palpable food for both meat lovers and veggie freaks! We cherished the ordered food as we split it in half. What consisted of pan fried noodles and a detox salad, was enjoyed equally daringly. The basil risotto cake brushed with a ting of creamy marination was the winner among all that we ordered.

This place doesn't take any reservations and I must say that it is a good bet for those who have a craving for some vegetarian food. You may have to visit for a while but trust me, it is worth it. The area upstairs is quite peaceful when compare to the ground floor. The staff is amiable and the service is also pretty standard. The menu is quite an extensive one with lots of Middle-Eastern dishes served. I am pretty sure that vegetarian people will like this place.

This restaurant has a really modern and energetic atmosphere. The decor is simplistic and casual but upbeat too.The place is always almost full but still it is a part of its unique appeal.
Another great thing about this place is the amazing service. The staff is well informed and jovial. For a vegetarian like me, the place is pretty amazing since the menu is extensive with a bias towards the vegetarians and the quality of food delicious ,the drinks were amazing too.
It was overall a lovely experience and i will definitely return.

Although I am not Vegetarian, I LOVE this place. The variety on the menu is great, and even for meat-eaters, the food tastes really wonderful, fresh, and unique. My favorites, are the Risotto cake with mozzarella, and the pumpkin and ricotta tortellini. Really amazing, warm and satisfying. The atmosphere at Mildred's is cosy, and always always busy, so calling before going is better! I really recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty and healthy meal. Let's face it, mushroom risottos and bean burgers can get a little samey for the average vegetarian, which is why Mildred's is must visit for those herbivores looking for something a little more inspiring.

The panfried halloumi is a simple yet satisfying starter and the artichoke heart crostini...well, you had me at artichoke! For my main course, I enjoyed the lentil, chickpea and mixed squash tagine which was sweetly fragranced with cinnamon, while my friend ordered the risotto cake. I tried a bit and found that it had the perfect blend of crunch and softness. I wouldn't recommend detox salad as it was a little on the tasteless side, but this appears to be an anomaly.

Both lunch and dinner are extremely busy, so book if you can.

Good Vegetarian Restaurant.

Mildred’s is a likeable place where to enjoy an original and salutary meal.
It is not costly and your main course should be around 10 £. Besides, it is very impressive for its distinctive menu.

I ordered there some crostini with mixed vegetables, which were very refreshing and mouthwatering! Also, their organic juices are worth a try. I had one made out of carrots, apples and ginger, which I found very beneficial and tasty.

The service was prompt and the food arrived quickly at our table. I would definitely suggest going for lunch and enjoy a healthy meal with friends or family!

A really good place for lunch although it can be difficult to get a space because they do not accept bookings.  And one can easily tell that this is a very popular vegetarian place, as during lunch and dinner time it gets very full very quickly.   There is plenty of choice and it is surprisingly filling.  Even if you're not vegetarian but are looking for a healthy lighter option head on over here!

Never did I imagine myself enjoying the food at an all vegetarian joint as much as I did here. Mildred's really is impressive: with their diverse menu, generous portions, and fresh ingredients. There were quite a few dishes on offer that I would have liked to sample - the ones we did were excellent. The food is healthy, vegetarian, and surprisingly delicious. I would definitely return, and highly recommend the artichoke crostini.

Mildreds is cosy and sophisticated. It’s going for the understated look and it fulfils it really well; although it doesn’t look like much on outside the inside it surprisingly light and airy. The restaurant itself is quite small and not the place to go with large groups, but works well for small and intimate gatherings. It’s well known to be full of fashionable media types at lunch time and the swank levels definitely go up a notch as Guardian columnist Hadley Freeman walks in and has a working lunch at the table next to us, instantly classing the place as cool!

Would I Want Seconds:
Yes definitely! Although they seem to cover a variety of cuisines which can seem a bit dubious, they pull it off really well with the food tasting gorgeous and very filling, which wasn’t at all expected. I’ve been there a few times now and tasted many a main course and I can say that they are all amazingly tasty, healthy and wholesome. This place is definitely a find and worth a visit, don’t let the vegetarian label put you off as it serves up none of the tradition negative stereotypes associated with veggie food.

Could I Afford Seconds:
Maybe not actually. Although it’s not expensive with the average cost of a main course at £9 they don’t do any lunch deals and there are cheaper places to dine up the road. However the food is definitely worth a try and the price doesn’t outshine the experience.

Overall:
Very, very impressive in terms of the food, and would be grand if they had a cheaper lunch time offer or something similar. However considering how busy it gets I’m guessing they don’t need to cut prizes for a publicity drive. Mildred’s does seem to be a secret London haunt for many.

All vegetarian, with plenty of vegan options, the menu is pretty tempting, and reaches across the spectrum - from super healthy detox salads, to creamy pumpkin tortelloni. A great selection, well cooked. We ordered the aubergine tagine and lentil burger for mains which were delicious. The artichoke crostini to start was excellent, as was the tortelloni and the halloumi salad. The portions are EXTREMELY generous. Dessert was a orange pistachio polenta cake which was incredibly delicious. A surprisingly heavy meal though, but very satisfying. Pretty decent service, though the restaurant was packed (at 5.45pm, I was quite surprised at that!)

This is one of my favourite restaurants in London and being a vegetarian I visit often. It has its own charm, they take no booking and seating is not comfortable at times but I will keep coming back. The burger of the day is to die for and the sweet potato chips amazing. We were three of us and started with the mezze platter. The hummus and falafals were really good. Moved onto mains, burger of the day was mock duck meat which is great as always. We also had the burrito which was pretty good and a mushroom pie which was nice and fluffy but among the weakest of our mains. Their portions are good size so make sure you share starters! Didn't order dessert as we were too full. Service was decent although the restaurant was full. A must visit if you ever fancy vegetarian or just good food.

I know its an all vegetarian place and the carnivores might shy away from this place- But i would highly suggest them to try this place. The menu has great variety and has everything from nachos to raviolis to detox salads to stir fried veggies! There is something for everyone. Their juices are healthy and fresh and their dessert menu is great. We ordered fresh orange juice and fresh vegetable juice. The veggie juice was good for a veggie juice- it was pretty healthy but an acquired taste. For the main course we ordered the pumpkin squash ricotta ravioli with mushrooms. It was delicious. Their starters can act as main courses as well depending on your hunger. For dessert we ordered their chocolate and peanut butter brownie with vanilla ice cream. Sends you in a food coma!
The staff was very friendly. On a busy day it might be tough to get a place and you might have to share the table with others- but worth it. This meal costed us around 22 pounds but should be around 30/35 pounds for 2! Get your hands on the food meat lovers..you wont regret it!

We loved everything about Mildred’s! Fantastic service and delicious food. We have been to other locations, but we love visiting this location in SoHo. We recommend making a reservation. Mildreds is a staple of the London Vegan Scene. I can't believe I’m only writing a review of it now We went to the branch in Soho before watching Les Mis and decided to just share a few of the small plates instead of having a big plate and some starters, as we would normally do. You get to try a lot more things this way, and their small plates are delicious! Honestly, there wasn't anything we ate that I wouldn't order again, but there were definitely a couple of standouts that I hope they never take off the menu. Topping the list is their Sweet Potato Leek Tortelloni, which comes with a lovely leek cream that is somehow both rich and smooth. Also amazing is their Whipped F'ta topped with roasted cherry tomatoes and oregano which is just perfect to dip their grilled pita on. There's still so much on their menu that I haven't tried. I absolutely must go again soon! 🏅 Overall: 9.5/10 🌱 Fully Vegan What we ate: 🥙 grilled pita 🥔 harissa patatas bravas 🧀 whipped f’ta 🌟 🍝 sweet potato leek tortelloni 🌟 🌮 chipotle cheez nachos ⭐️

Judging by the queue of people this restaurant is no secret. Luckily we had booked having tried to get a table a few months ago on spec without success. We were taken inside and the restaurant opens up with each room in the house seeming to offer tables. We had a table in a small room upstairs. Service was excellent with the young waiter taking our orders and delivering drinks then our food with pleasant engagement and efficiency. The food was really excellent. We shared banana blossom tacos to starts then I had a poke bowl with seitan and my wife had the kebabs. All vegan, all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. It was one of those meals that when you finished you wish you hadn’t! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough definitely for vegans and if you’re not then you should anyway as it’s just great food! Value for money, great service!
