Tried the Tonkatsu Benton. Worth the price and had sumptuous side dishes on it. Can't believe the I had it for less than £10. Worth the wait and travel from Romford.

Seafood Pancake (Haemul Pajeon) was also the star of the night! The mix of the veggies and seafood was stupendous! Would be here again for another round of food attack.

Was still a bit hungry after Uchi, so we went to Dotori, was absolutely blown away, fabulously delicious food, we had Yakiniku , portions were just right tasted authentic, we left satisfied.

Went here for dinner with a friend. It passed dinner time but the restaurant was packed so we reserved a place and came back half an hour later. We seated on the bar which was quite cramped but overall still cosy.

I ordered Katsu Don (donburi) for the dinner. It was a Japanese rice dish topped with fried breaded pork strips and egg. It was a quite big sized dish, and a bit too much for me. The donburi came with a bowl of miso soup.

Overall, it was a great place, a great finding in Finsburry Park area. Would love to come again!

So... Dotori in Finsbury Park has always been a bit of a mixed bag for me. I agree it's the best Japanese-Korean restaurant in London. And I'm not sure if I mean that as an aggregate, or that it is the best Japanese restaurant AND the best Korean restaurant. But. And a big but; I always find the service lacking. It's a ridiculously popular eatery and the both times Ive been there's also a serious waiting time. Luckily, there's a pub nearby to nurse a pint until you get the bell.

Great place just off Finsbury Park station!

I have visited a couple of times, but strongly recommend to reserve a table in advance. Its a very popular spot! I sometimes find myself waiting 4:45pm, just before they open with 15 others, hoping to grab one of their last available tables for at leats 45 minutes..

The food and service are great. I have tried both menus, the Korean and the Japanese and think they are equally good. The Donburi's are one of my favourite.

Growing up in Alaska, I wasn’t exposed to a lot of non-Chinese Asian food. Granted, I’m pretty sure the place we always ate Chinese on the top floor of the Polaris Building in Fairbanks, AK was one of the better Chinese places to eat. (Sadly, both of which are permanently closed. The Polaris Building gave such a beautiful night time view of the city.) I mean the sweet and sour sauce was not some strange, neon-red thing, it was a nice, dark brown, rich sauce. (Honestly, growing up I didn’t even know the red sauce existed!) The pork was also not breaded and fried, but tiny pork ribs. And it was so delicious. (At least, that’s how my 12-year old self remembers it.) My experience with other types of Asian food didn’t really occur until after I finished my Bachelor’s degree. I had a bit of experience with Indian at a coffee shop I worked at in college, but on the whole, my non-Chinese experience was limited. When I started working at my first “real” job, the world of Asian food opened up for me: Work Christmas parties full of wonderful sushi, amazing Indian lunch buffets and mouthwatering Thai feasts were all things I experienced and gave me such an appreciation for all sorts of culinary delights.

Really desperate to try Ditori, but I keep called and no-one ever pick's up the phone so I can't make a booking. I've tried called about 30 times this week, and no voicemail?! Big group of us would like to visit next week, please help!

Dotori is probably my new favourite place for sushi. It’s a family run restaurant based in Finsbury Park serving Japanese and Korean dishes. I’ve heard many good things about this place and how busy it can get, but we managed to find a table on a early Sunday evening. We were spoilt for choice and didn’t know what to order, so we ended up ordering all the dishes recommended by our friend Colin (he knows what’s good!)

You know that dreadful feeling inside when you can't decide what you want to eat, because if you had your way you would eat the world in one sitting. I was having one of those moments. That fateful day was between Korean or Japanese. . Luckily Dotori, in Finsbury Park are renowned to serve both cuisines and they do it well.

WARNING: I have a problem.

I suffer from a serious disorder called Hungry Eyes Syndrome.

It simply takes over me, and I cannot control it.

I just NEED to eat EVERYTHING.

I know you can all relate.

You know that dreadful feeling inside when you can't decide what you want to eat, because if you had your way you would eat the world in one sitting.

I was having one of those moments.

That fateful day was between Korean or Japanese.

Luckily Dotori, in Finsbury Park are renowned to serve both cuisines and they do it well.

YEAH-O-Meter?

Feeding my greed.

It was only natural to start off with not one but THREE appetisers.

Korean Spring Onion and Seafood Pancake (£6.50)

As you are well aware, this is not just any Korean pancake; it's a juicy, densely packed pancake with an abundance of shrimp, squid and spring onions.

It was soft in the middle, and had that crispy edge; making it just so satisfying.

It's probably one of the best Korean seafood pancakes I've ever had.

Korean Fried Chicken (£5.50)
The flavour of the sticky sauce was perfect: sweet, salty, sour and spicy. Every thing you could possible want. I just wished that it was more 'saucy' but that's just because I like it dirty.

Also the chicken was a little on the tough side, as it was slightly overcooked.

Salmon Sashimi (£6.50)
It's hard to knock on fresh salmon, this was meaty and added that refreshing edge to my starters.

Whetting my appetite. ;P

Rainbow Roll £8.50
Tuna, Salmon, Sea bass, Prawn, Crabstick, pickle, cucumber, kanpyo and green tea mayonnaise

This was the most refreshing of the sushi rolls, with that green tea mayo adding an earthy hum to each bite.

House Roll £7.00
Marinated beef, cucumber, kanpyo, asparagus, kimchee, inari, flying fish roe, and red wine sauce

I was actually pretty surprised at how flavoursome the beef was in this roll, think the marinade used on bulgogi beef IN a sushi roll.

It was well balanced with the cucumber, asparagus and the kimchee added that saltiness that just brought it all together. It was really well balanced.

Dragon Roll £8.50
Eel, avocado, cucumber and sweet soy sauce

That sweet thick soy based sauce thats basted on the eel always will be a winner in my eyes. The crunch of the cucumber and soft creaminess of the avocado just added to it's glory.

Pear and Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap £7.50

I was so stuffed by this point, and suffering the consequences from Hungry Eyes Syndrome.

But this was just SO good.

Pear and beef just go so well together.

You get that sweetness from the pear, with the saltiness from the beef, and the vegetables give it that added crunch. Slather it all with some chilli and you will be in a very happy place.

I felt like a fat cat after eating all of that.

I probably shouldn't have ordered that last dish, as I was about to explode.

But I regret nothing!

Ambiance?

Dotori is tiny family-run restaurant just a stone throw away from Finsbury Park station. I just love places that look and feel like you're in someone's home.

This place is always constantly rammed so be sure to book in advance if you decide to venture here.

Sex Appeal?

I know I'll be back ;]

Lovely, lovely, lovely! We had tried to get in previously but there was always a queue. Lovely staff, we didn’t need to wait long for food, delicious tasty food at fantastic prices with very generous portions!! Great menu available. We left the venue stuffed full and very happy- highly recommend !! We ordered soo many dishes which therefore bumped up the price per person. Huge prawns- prawn tempura! Fried squid tentacles- ( in photo) very big portion!! Kimchi- yum yum

First thing I want to mention is GREAT service!!! Staff were attentive and friendly, food came super quick and was delicious. Me and my boyfriend had been wanting to try this spot for a while and it did not disappoint, we will definitely be back! I would definitely recommend the Sets- as you get a mix of starters, hot food dishes and sushi for for a specific but lower price. Love it here

the food was absolutely delicious, and there was oodles of choice, even for veggies. we ordered several small dishes as well as several large dishes and it was all very tasty. there was jellyfish, which we'd never had before, but the waiter recommended it to us, and to our surprise it was nice. they were all very friendly and it was very pleasant.

The Pancake was really good ! But my ramen just missed the mark - to be fair I should have had something else on the menu. The staff were really welcoming and kind and there’s no wait time It’s cash only :)

Been here a number of times now, never disappoints. Excellent food always, service is decent. It's only a small place, but there's also a downstairs section, so although you can't book a table, you never have to wait long.. even at busy times. It's cash only, so make sure you bring some, but prices are very reasonable for dish sizes, pair that with the top food quality and your onto a winner here. Highly recommended

Omg this was amazing! Got there early (just before 6) so secured a table for 4 very easily. Once we ordered the food came out really quick and everything was absolutely delicious! Cannot fault a single plate. My favourite was the Japche, hadn’t had it for years and it did not disappoint. A must visit in Finsbury Park Find me on TikTok for video reviews @hi.there.im.katie

I've been wanting to go here for a long time but every time I walked by it was full. They don't take reservations so I finally showed up at 5:30 p.m. got a table for two right away and at that time it was still quite empty. Went with friend. We ordered the kimchi pancake, edamame and vegetable gyoza for appetizers. She had the vegetable ramen and I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap without the egg. Dishes arrived really quickly and piping hot! The kimchi pancake was probably my favorite! It had tons of flavor and was super crispy and still fluffy inside. The bibimbap was okay. I wish that the beef itself had more flavor. You got a small portion of miso soup with the bibimbap. Very good value for money.. Dishes were huge and reasonably priced. We paid £46 in total and left absolutely stuffed!
