We came to Franzina Trattoria for a birthday dinner and had an amazing time. We were a table of 15 who the waitress worked so hard to make sure we had a great time. I had the vegan arancini, chickpea croquettes, pesto pasta, and pistachio ice cream. The food is some of the best Italian food I’ve had in London! I’ve not had pistachio ice cream since going vegan and it was amazing! Note some of the vegan options aren’t vegan by default so you have to ask for it to be made vegan. Would love to come again and bring more vegan friends if there were more vegan options, but nevertheless a great place for meat eaters and veges/vegans alike.

This was my first time having authentic Sicilian food, and OMG was it delicious. Like many spots in Brixton it is very low-key, it is also classy on the interior and there’s a small patio outback. You must try the pasta when you come as it is made in house and cooked to absolute perfection. There is an extensive drink list and tastic wines that have been imported. It is obvious that the owner Has put a lot of thought into this establishment. I started with the Insalata Rapipititto. It was a little different from what I’m used to, but the flavor profiles were quite nice. I had the ragu for a main course and it was out of this world. Very simple dish, but made with so much love. The pasta that I mentioned earlier was cooked to perfection. The dish was very well seasoned. I am so used to Italian restaurants with fairly bland pasta dishes but this is not that. As I was finishing my meal, the owner Peter came over and we had a friendly chat. Mind you, he was on his feet the entire evening. I had finished my evening with the cannoli, and Peter gifted me a sample of his home, made lemon cello, which was amazing. I almost forgot about the tiramisu, which was incredible. Probably the top three I have ever had.

Food was exceptional and everything tasted really good, simple decor and vibrant atmosphere. It wouldv'e been a 5-star review however the young waitress who was also serving seemed to be a bit cold, kept a sour face and gave us the stink-eye constantly. Several times came to the table and asked "are you finished?" Which I found a bit rude. She just looked totally unhappy to even be there. UPDATE - upgraded the review to 5 stars Went with a party of 6 last Sunday and, even though there was 1 waiter for the entire restaurant who seemed to be struggling a tiny bit (it was one of the hottest days of the year after all) he did his job amazingly well and served everyone with a positive attitude. Service was impeccable and the food and wine were excellent just like last time! The Sfincione has become one of my favorite things ever.. incredible.

We have been going to Franzina for a good couple of years now and it is always good food. My mother in law had come down from Aberdeen, Scotland last night and we brought her here and she was in love - one of the best meals she had - we are always grateful for the lovely and hardworking staff and the consistency in amazing food that reminds me of my nonna's cooking back in Italy. Compared to so many other pasta places in London (and I've tried A LOT) - rarely any can beat Franzina in quality, authenticity, taste and reasonable price! One of the few pasta places that offers one of my favourite dishes, black squid ink pasta! I don't drink but my Scottish mother in law certainly does and she adored the organic white wine and homemade limoncello offered at the end of the night~

My 2nd visit to this amazing place for the true mastery Sicilian dining. My daughter birthday, enjoyed Sicilian gelato log. If only they had a location in Liverpool, would go every week.

VERAMENTE BUONISSIMO Absolute gem in Brixton, authentic style, intimate Sicilian restaurant. They know how to treat an aubergine, oh my. Superior quality ingredients and flavours, lovingly made tagliatelle that's molto corposo, and the pesto trapanese was a real highlight.

Perfect, just being in Italy with best food. Coffee served at perfect temperature— very hot & deep flavours.

This is the best Italian restaurant in London! If you want to try authentic Southern Italian cuisine then definitely try this place. I had the best sfincione ever here and having dined in multiple times I had the chance try different pasta dishes - they were all impeccable. Pietro and the whole staff are super kind and attentive. I could not recommend this place enough.

Fresh tagliatelle was lovely, as were the big prawns and arancini. Had the Narke wine which I’d recommend, and the house beers were class. Portions could be a tiny big bigger, but don’t let that stop you.

Wandered into this place for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. The menu was far from the standard London Italian. Everything was flavourful, thanks in part to the owner's own olive oil from his farm in Sicily. The red pesto pasta was really special and the southern Italian antipasti were also all tasty.
