This is as fresh as fresh can get! Perfect flavor profile across the dish and I wish I had time to try everything on the menu. I'll definitely be going back. Just YUM! 😍

Well, at least that’s the way that furniture seems to go.  Nordic furniture seems to have acquired the characteristics of clean lines, minimalist motifs as opposed to its more Southern counterparts with more chunky, baroque patterning.  Just take a glance at Ikea, who took the world by storm with their clear cut furniture.  And of course the price.  Why indeed price your objects of desire at full fledged heavy weight points when they were actually made of chip board.  Might as well bring down the costing to a more representative level when not all of us can afford to go for bespoke furniture items carved out of Swedish oak.

Really love the daily fresh cinnamon rolls they offer and the cheap and quality Scandinavian food! Staffs are extremely helpful and warm. The little supermarket inside offers nice preserved food.

I took a friend to try out this Scandinavian deli place. As both of us not tried anything like this before. I had the Swedish meatballs with 3 sides. One thing we learned here was the food was fresh made daily; healthy, clean palette and with a drink my food came to a tenner. Yes, a tenner, a bargain especially in Central London.

Gorgeous cafe and deli in Fitzrovia, offering fresh and delicious Scando inspired grub. Behind the counter are a plethora of open sandwiches which you're encouraged to mix and match to create a bespoke smorgasbord of flavours. I opted for just one, egg mayo on rye bread topped with crunchy red onion which was excellent. A huge mug of Monmouth coffee on the side went down a treat too! Stock up on your favourite Nordic treats from the deli at the back before leaving!

Maybe It's Because

Earlier this week there was a brief five millisecond window when the weather wasn’t absolutely miserable, so I grabbed my jacket, camera and wallet and hightailed it out of the house to look for a place to review. It must have been my lucky day, because as I ascended the stairs of Tottenham Court Road Station, I was 80% sure it’d be raining but thankfully I was wrong. The weather was actually quite mild with practically clear skies and a temperature which had me walking through Fitzrovia in an unbuttoned jacket. Happy days. I was in a pretty indecisive mood that morning and found myself walking for a lot longer than I had first intended. Maybe it’s because (Ha!) I wasn’t hungry/thirsty enough to make an actual decision, or maybe I was distracted by the silent screams “Holy shit it’s not raining!” in my head. It wasn’t until I spotted the big, bright red Scandinavian Kitchen sign down the road that I was able to actually make a decision. I’d heard good things about Scandinavian Kitchen, but for some unexplainable reason, not tried it out yet… yet.

Not Just Vegetarian
+4.5
When you think of Scandinavian cuisine, how often do you think vegetarian?  I associate Scandinavian food with seafood and desserts.  I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide range of vegetarian salads and sandwiches when I stopped by Scandi(navian) Kitchen in Marylebone / Fitzrovia for lunch. ScandiKitchen sells groceries and freshly made gourmet Nordic food just off of Oxford Street.  At lunch, ScandiKitchen is a busy place – there is a queue to choose salads, open face sandwiches and desserts.  Once you choose what you want to eat (plate of 3 or 5) and pay for it, you take your food to a table where you can find a spot to sit at (can be quite the challenge at lunch time, but it’s not too bad). Tables are for communal seating and you are bound to find a spot quickly as long you are not in a large group.
Overall, I was very impressed with the wide range and delicious flavour of vegetarian items at Scandinavian Kitchen.

Scandi Kitchen is definitely one of my favourite cafes in London! Prices are reasonable for the quality and it’s the best place for authentic Swedish bakes. They have a shop downstairs full of Scandinavian products too. Staff are always lovely and a super relaxed atmosphere to work in or chill.

Scandinavian Kitchen is the mecca of all things wonderfully Finnish, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. The place has delicious Scandinavian food. Salads are great, healthy, tasty and service was quick. Their open sandwiches looks yummy and refreshing, too. The meatballs and salad I ate were satisfying even the hungriest of Vikings. I had brownie with me for dessert, and I have to say...very tasty! I tried Finnish birch water and I enjoyed it! Im looking forward to returning to try other goodies. The place is quite small but once you get there, it offers an enriching gastronomical and cultural experiences. Tusen takk!

Fantastic little cafe. I’d been meaning to try their Lenten buns since the start of COVID, and finally managed to today, well worth the wait. Lovely coffee also.

Nice spot to sit and work. They have variety of open sandwiches with rye bread and their coffee suppliers are Monmouth and Coffee was okay. They also have Scandinavian groceries in the basement with good supplies of biscuits and chocolates.

Coming from Denmark, I had high expectations. Ordered an open-faced egg/prawn sandwich and a cinnamon bun. Sandwich was perfect - especially the rye bread. Just like it would have been served in Denmark. The cinnamon bun, on the other hand, was not Danish but Swedish. Still very good though! The shop downstairs had a wide selection of Scandinavian food. Was excited to find the Norwegian lefse down there! A bit surprised that they had Norwegian mayonnaise too - I don't think there's any difference between that and any other mayo from around the world. But I could be wrong. I'll be back for the hotdog. Saw someone else's hotdog, and it looked delicious (as in, just the way a Danish hotdog would be like).

No better place in London for Scandinavian food. Such friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. The Semla buns before Easter are an absolute treat. I always stock up with Norwegian Smash snacks from the shop whilst I'm there.

Totally love this shop! They've got what I want from Denmark or I can get something that is almost a good from another Scandinavian country. They are super, I mean totally super friendly and the service is outstanding. Emails are responded to in no time and any queries are never left hanging. My food/ treats always arrives on time and often earlier, cold and we'll wrapped, great communication so you know what's going on and sometimes there's a little extra surprise in the box. I can't recommend highly enough!
