Amazing pasta, friendly staff would love to go back
Had the linguinni arrabiatta. Best pasta I've ever had. Service very friendly, fast and overall superb. The chef is Italian and clearly knows his stuff. Outstanding!!
Here are my gluten-free restaurant reviews – mostly in London, but anywhere that I find absolutely delicious. Any meals that have been comp’ed have been specified – and I always give my honest opinion – there’s nothing worse than a shoddy meal!. My biggest weakness is probably fresh pasta.
My friends have a lot of inertia. It takes a lot to move them out of the comforts of Zone 1 London. Yet when we were invited out to Finsbury Park to try some Italian food, my steady cajoling was eventually successful. Just have to start early. Although maybe the restaurant’s location just 1 minute from Finsbury Park station may have influenced the decision.
Taglietelle, spaghetti, penne, the choice is yours at Pasta Remoli. With their first store a success in Westfield Shopping Centre, Pasta Remoli have opened their second restaurant in Finsbury Park. With a modern and funky décor, the restaurant gives off a casual vibe and was abuzz with people on the drizzly weekday night I visited.
We left Pasta Remoli impressed, the Italian restaurant did well with most of its dishes and it's quirky atmosphere. The eateries use of fresh ingredients from Italy mixed with it being a cheap eat and offering quality dishes is great for a bite at Westfield or a visit to Finsbury Park for a nice Italian meal.
My biggest weakness is probably fresh pasta.
Really delicious fresh pasta has been somewhat out of my reach since I started on a gluten free diet two years ago – I always reckoned I’d have to get myself to Italy to come close.
Luckily, I didn’t have to travel quite that far – I didn’t even have to leave north London. I was super excited to see they had a fresh gluten free pasta on the menu, made from chickpea flour, at Pasta Remoli in Finsbury Park.
All roads lead to Rome, the saying goes, and in truth that wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The city – beautiful enough to feature in an Assassin’s Creed game – abounds of character, pickpockets and amazing food at every corner. Yet Italian food has been on a qualitative decline in London in my past few sojourns; that’s why it was quite nice to be able to try out Pasta Remoli which managed to pull the cuisine from sinking further into the abyss.
On both occasions, the service we received was wonderfully Italian: friendly, helpful, and most of all enthusiastic. I loved the setup on Sunday, with bustling bartenders and a beautiful buffet of antipasti, plus four different types of pasta. The atmosphere was buzzing, and for a Sunday night, the place was surprisingly busy. If it hadn’t been a freezing cold day, there would not have been much to distinguish it from the many aperitivos I experienced in Rome last year! The concept of paying for your drink and then helping yourself to the food on offer is a strong one, and pretty reasonable at £12, particularly for London standards. The antipasti was varied and tasty, and my favourite dish was one I don’t know the name of; it was some sort of pesto that spread on crispy bread, which was absolutely delicious!

I just such a nice dinner with my family at Pasta Remoli! We went there on 31st of October and they had a fantastic Halloween menu. We didn't order that, but it was nice to see that they do special menus for different times of the year. The guy who served us, an Italian guy, was so nice and funny. We made us laugh a lot, trying to speak with is in Portuguese! The food was so tasty and it felt like real food, not somethings that they just cook in a minute. Actually, they took their time to cook the most delicious Italian pasta that I ate! Definitely I want to go there again to try different dishes.
I really liked the system of ordering - you can choose your fav pasta type (spaghetti, fusilli, gnocchi...), then you choose your sauce (ragu, bolognese, carbonara...) and top it all with cheese 🧀 of your preference (parmesan, pecorino, burrata...).
.
We opted for:
🦐Seafood spaghetti - I missed seafood so much that my choice was easy! The sauce was delicious and full of flavour and I just wished I had two plates instead of one even though the portion was very generous! 🤩
🥓Mushroom&pancetta fusilli - nothing better than a creamy pasta with some yummy pancetta right?
.
We also had some bread🍞 and broccoli🥦 with pecorino as starters, enjoyed some Aperol Spritz🍹 with our food and finished with the creamiest Tiramisu and Affogato desserts🍦

Pre theatre lunch yesterday. Three generations. Fantastic food, drinks, servers, atmosphere. Our Italian server helped us with our choices. The chicken livers crostini was so so good, we had to order another one to share! Draft beer, house wines and an Aperol. Oh, and they even loaned us a phone charger! Great value. Love the place. Thank you 😊
A very nice restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The food was a real taste of Italy thanks to the Chef Fedele. The service was brilliant, our waitress Jessica helped us pick the best meal possible and made us feel very comfortable here.
The food was amazing! Shout out to Vanessa, she’s an amazing waitress! Highly recommend!
Had a great experience at Pasta Remoli. We got greeted at the door by Simone himself. Very well explained menu and easy to technically speaking "make your own pasta". It's great how all the pasta is freshly made on premises. Simone showed me the area where all the fresh pasta is made. We ordered Barrata Cheese & Parma Ham, Bread & Focaccia (served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar) for starters which was nice, first time trying Barrata cheese which I loved. For mains we ordered Truffle & Mushroom Ravioli in Creamy Mushroom Sauce topped with Parmigiano & Mozzarella which was amazing. More details to follow...
Over the years I've been to Pasta Remoli several times and during the pandemic it was great to be able to buy their delicious pasta and sauces. I went with a friend last Thursday for supper and we both enjoyed the good food, the atmosphere and the very attentive service.
This place serve the best pasta in London. I tried this one: the new spaghetti alle vongole, wow simply amazing. I am Sicilian and I use to eat that dish in my hometown and I have to say that it was memorable at Pasta Remoli. Well done guys!
I stumbled across this place last night, and was delighted by it. I was on my own and the staff made me feel very welcome. The place had a lovely warm feeling to it and you could see the food being prepared and cooked.
The menu looked great - but Sara actually chose the pasta dish for me - and promised to eat it herself if I wasn't happy!
The whole vibe is authentic - the staff, Matteo, Sara and Jessica all conversed in Italian and the food was really good. Amazing pasta cooked and served the way it should be.
As for the Tiramisu - MUST be had. Was phenomenal.
Please do visit this great place - really is awesome.
A pleasant little paste with genuine pasta dishes. Efficient and friendly service. The right place for Italian pasta lovers.
"Cacio e peppe" was just fine, not one of the best pastas we've tasted. "Carbonara" was great, just don't add more cheese on it, because it'll be too salty. Spaghetti were tasty enough
