Boxcar Bar & Grill

What a lovely little restaurant nestled in a culinary street in Marylebone. Firstly, the staff are just wonderful - friendly, funny, chatty but not over bearing. It was quiet in the restaurant so I can’t really say much about the atmosphere but I can say I was offered a seat where ever I’d like. The outside would’ve been perfect of the wether was a little better. I chose to sit in a bright spot at the back of the restaurant adorned with foliage and a skylight. I ordered the filet steak, which I’m sad to say I feel was over cooked. Perhaps I should’ve asked for rare. In fact I’d normally say ‘how the chef recommends’ when asked how I like my steak but for some I know reason I said medium- rare this time. Even for medium rare it felt over done. I ordered the pepper corn sauce which was tasty and abundant and I wish I’d offered som fries to dip in but I chose the summer vegetables that happens to be cabbage. I decided to sneak in a cheeky cheese board after and it was truly delicious. A fantastic drinks list accompanied the and the Pinot noir was especially quaffable

The location is very convienen and easy to get to; when we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly staff. The food was great, we had the burgers and the steak and they were all cooked as ordered. They also have a nice wine selection. For a casual dinner, it wa me the right spot. The only reason I don’t give it a Five out of five o Is the music, it was a bit too loud. I strongly recommend this place
