Firstly the service was excellent. The front of house team couldn’t be more accommodating or hospitable. Food was all accurately cooked with the Ibérico pork stealing the show. Not cheap but decent value for the West End. Part of the Salt Yard group whose family of restaurant are all good so no real surprises.

This place is a true gem in the heart of London. Delicious tapas made using the finest quality ingredients, the food is so fresh and cooked to perfection. The wine list is amazing and the waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu and ready to make an expect recommendation. The highlight of this place is the staff, very friendly, attentive and fun. They really make the night special. Love it

Loved loved this place!! Their iberico pork burger are especially good and having tried their other pork dishes, this is definitely the place I would go to in case I am missing my 'pork'. Also loved the grilled prawns. Salad was very refreshing and light.

I felt myself in a local and traditional Spanish pinchos bar here! Started with grilled bread with olive oil: it was served just after ordering, warm and very nice. Haddock croquettes: if you like croquette, you'll love this; if you like seafood taste then you'll double love this! Also it's amazing with side sauce. Octopus: It was nice grilled and yummy, but little bit small portion. Again the sauce is well fit. Chocolate Fondant: Different type of salted caramel with chocolate type; nice taste. Also you can try "Alhambra Reserva" as a beer.

Pretty good tapas place. I really enjoyed the mackerel, croquettes and the octopus. I also had the dulce de Leche Panna cotta which was superb. The pork belly, whilst nice, had a touch too many beans. Great service and friendly staff.

Opera Tavern – the second establishment to be bestowed with the honour of a five stuffed pepper review. The restaurant is situated just off Covent Garden on Catherine Street, sitting in the shadow of the Drury Lane theatre. The downstairs is more of a wine bar, serving bar snacks, whilst the upstairs functions as the restaurant. The room accommodates a fair few tables without feeling crammed, and the dim lighting and candles add to the intimate atmosphere; my boyfriend and I were seated in the corner which was very cosy, despite the party one table over. The walls are adorned with old opera and concert posters, which seem fitting given the restaurant’s proximity to the Royal Opera House. It all feels rather refined (this is the kind of place where there is hand cream and wicker basket of fabric hand towels in the loo), yet the friendliness of the staff prevents the place from feeling unnecessarily stuffy.

We got seated quickly by the window and went straight to action!

Olives and bread to start, along with some prosciutto and fish croquettes.

The bread was fresh and the oil strong in taste, just how I like it.

The olives were tasty and the croquettes were out of this world.

We then ordered beet root salad and roasted cauliflower salad. Both were great.

The wine was great as well.

We were too full to order a main so I cant comment there!

The quality of the food is 5/5 but the price is too high... At £70 for what we ordered i thought that was way too much... So ill drop this place to a 4 purely based on price.

I think you can get the same quality for 30% cheaper else where (e.g. Zoilo in covent garden)

Stay hungry my friends!

I really liked Opera Tavern, a restaurant specialising in tapas-style Spanish/Italian influenced food. Croquettas of ham were very good and I can particularly recommend the Iberia Pork and foie gras burger for which they are - justly - famous. It's a small, very atmospheric restaurant, with friendly helpful service and joy of joys you can book.A perfect spot if you can't get into Barrafina or don't want to risk the queue. They major on charcuterie and cheeses and this makes it a perfect spot for a post-work snack as well as a full-blown meal.

The dishes are pricey for tapas at £6-8 per dish but offer high quality ingredients that are well worth paying for. The Covent Garden restaurant has a romantic feel to it and with its delectable food it's become an immediate favourite for the area. Next time I'm in Covent Garden I'll be sure to tread past the many competing chains for the taste of tapas at Opera Tavern.

Nice quaint nook in the middle of Covent Garden’s hustle and bustle. The food has elevated classics with a touch of interesting twists. The restaurant delivers on food quality, taste, atmosphere and service. The servers were extremely nice and had a lovely chat with them about the restaurant. They seem to know their stuff as well as the food. The atmosphere is understated yet sophisticated and it feels like a very cozy and intimate restaurant. The music was suited to the place and not too overbearing. The decoration has a nice feel. Best thing about the place is the food though. I recommend the iberico abanico, the jamon croquettes and the fig dessert. The place was also clean with good glasses for drinks and shiny cutlery. Great for dates or catch ups with good friends.

It was alright. Ordered the bellota, patatas and the tiger prawns. The prawn was okay to eat (I finished them) but was definitely not the freshest. Bad day, I hope? The sauce was nice though. The cocktails look delicious and the bar tender was nice.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday before an evening performance. We loved the atmosphere and found the staff very welcoming. The food was nice enough but nothing really stood out as spectacular except the fried courgettes. It’s obvious the food is fresh and it was all prepared beautifully. The wine we had was delicious and fairly reasonable at £19 for a bottle. Nothing was bad, it just didn’t blow us away like we were hoping.

Good, fast service. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite quiet. They have a few outside tables and a good atmosphere inside, a nice cozy place to grab a drink if you're waiting for a show nearby, or just left one (I did both). Will remember it for next time we are in West End for a show.

Culinary gem that exceeded all expectations. Everything about our dining experience was absolutely perfect. The service was exceptional, from the moment we entered till the time we left. And I must give compliments to the talented chefs. We had the pleasure of trying various dishes, and each one was a delightful surprise. The pork belly was a standout, perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The courgette flower and baby squid were also remarkable, showcasing the chef's mastery of flavors and textures. Even though we were quite full, we couldn't resist the desserts, and they were a treat in every sense of the word. Unforgettable dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

This charming and cozy upstairs dining room over an historic pub served delicious tapas plates - each one better than the last. My friend and I visited pre-show at the nearby Duchess Theatre and could not have been more delighted. I will definitely return to this place - great for theatre dining, and would also be a romantic spot for a couple's special night.

A great tapas place close to the Opera and the theatre district. Good for 2 or 3 people. It's atmospheric with a good selection of tapas. we enjoyed the mixed olives and the cheese platter. The prawns are served with lots of garlic and oil perfect with bread. A large selection of Italian and French wines. Service is very friendly and prompt. Make sure you reserve a table.

We were seeing a matinee, and this was around the corner from the theater. We slipped in for a quick bite and were very pleasantly surprised. Spanish and Italian tapas and wine are served in a chic ambience and a warm setting. Octopus was tender and served on top of black rice cooked in squid sauce. It was excellent. Wines are served by the glass or by the bottle. This was a very nice find directly across the street from the royal theater.

Couldn't fault the food or service. Food was full of flavour and well presented. The only thing that lacked was the atmosphere - two tables had still to be cleared which was a little untidy on the eye. A bit strange as there was only one table covered at the time. Anyways, the food and service was spot-on. Excellent value. Will come back again
