Black & Blue Steakhouse - Notting Hill Gate

This restaurant was ok, I probably ordered the wrong thing. Would have been nice if they had sorbet as a desert option on the fixed menu. Good service. Steak correctly cooked. Chips very thin but crispy. No sweet potato fry option or thick chips which I prefer . Seating was comfortable. Reasonably priced.

In America there are several chain restaurants that serve blooming onions, but it isn't something I've often seen in the UK. Cut to me travelling all the way to Notting Hill once I heard that Black & Blue have them on the menu. I regret nothing, it was totally worth it. The 'flowering onion' held together amazingly, falling into perfect bite sized sections. Served with a tangy peppercorn dip, the whole ensemble was delightful and morish. I did feel that calling 375ml of wine a 'carafe' was a little optimistic but we enjoyed the brisk Sancerre regardless. We did notice quite a lot of staff for not a lot of customers and were a little perturbed that a service charge applied automatically for a table of two but all in all are happy to have found a new little gem of a restaurant. The Storm Thorgerson prints lining the walls were a great surprise too.

Beautiful place. Live mucis in Waterloo restaurant and the lady who is singing giving this place this nice vibe. Maybe not a everyday place to have a dinner...as the prices are not cheap, but don't forget location, definitely worth a visit. One of our favourite places to celebrate something special likeValetnites day or anniversary..cosy and romantic.
