This is the most authentic Indian buffet that I have eaten in London. The food tastes exactly how it does in India. The spread is not very large but the choice of items is very good. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Looking for Dum Pukht in London ? This is the place .
It’s a beautiful looking restaurant and gives a very royal vibe .
We started our meal with the kebab platter , the tandoori chicken , achari chicken and mutton seekh were really good but the Tandoori Jhinga could be better and have more flavour .
For main course we had Dal Makhani and Mutton biryani , excellent flavour and good portions as well.

It’s a must try !

it's a really good traditional indian food, with a real flavours and taste of Indians. The service is a bit slow.
Good price level for the quality, around 40£ per person.

I had one of the best experience of fine dining here. The hostess ushered us promptly to our table and the staff were accommodating and had deep knowledge about what and what not the chefs will be able to provide for yours truly. The restaurant itself had high ceilings, glamorous chandeliers, and the right amount of dim-lighting. The Raan was hands down the best dish of the night which saw close to 15 dishes being served to the six of us. I would definitely visit it again the next time I'm in London.

Great food and a lovely setting. Portions are reasonable size so won't break the bank. Service is a bit hit and miss compared to other upscale restaurants. The main room is warmer than the conservatory room which can get cold. Piano player was very good. I would recommend trying this out.

As soon as we entered the dining area, were pretty impressed by the perfect ambiance.
The service was good and friendly.
We ordered both veg and non veg, and food was delicious - good portions.
The place is pricey though.
A must visit.

When you enter you walk into an impressive, sleek bar area with a warm glowing fire and pictures adorning the walls with Maharajahs and Maharinis as well as other notable people. As you walk through the saloon doors, you are greeted by an breathtakingly beautiful chandelier and main dining room with its own resident pianist – who was amazing to listen to! We then were guided into their conservatory for brunch. Loved the relaxed, bright airy feel and decor in the conservatory! We kicked off proceedings with a visit to the chaat stand – Bombay Brasserie’s take on the street food stalls in India serving quick bite-sized snacks. I had the full selection of: bhel puri, coconut prawns, pani puri with vegetable pakora and a tandoor cooked chicken in a dill marinade – a very colourful, and tasty, start to my brunch experience. We especially loved the coriander and cumin crust on the talapia, comfort of the soft, pillowy paneer and the spicy hit from the gunpowder potatoes. Now, as we have a sweet tooth, we had actually checked out the dessert selection even before visiting the chaat stand; can you fault us?! Amazing desserts on offer, including chikki (caramel brittle) and mango and fig kulfis, chocolate shrikhand (a strained yoghurt dessert), warm gulab jamun, and exotic fruit selection. Plus unusual dessert twists: Beetroot cake and tender coconut raisin kheer (rice pudding). As I said before, we are dessert people and always check out menus and buffets to save space for those sweet delights at the end, so we particularly loved the mango and fig kulfi, as it had such an intense flavour! We would recommend visiting for both the ambiance and also to enjoy refined Indian cuisine with traditional, warm Taj Hotels Group service. Recommend visiting, especially for celebrations!

They have a beautiful bar at the entrance. Lovely guest handling. They pay attention to every small guest needs. So as a fine dining it is a good option for Indian food lovers.

Bombay Brasserie brought fine Indian food to London in 1982, coincidentally the year another great Indian export was born (ME!) and they set about transforming the way the food folk of London and beyond saw Indian food. It wasn’t the high street’s favourite curry, it was something a little cut above.

I have been indulging in quite a lot of Indian food recently. or rather much more than my usual average. Following my visit to Moti Mahal, I recently attended a #ZomatoMeetup at the charming Bombay Brasserie in Kensington. . Opened in 1982 (before I was even born!), Bombay Brasserie has been an iconic restaurant destination, well known for its authentic, eclectic Bombay and Indian cuisine.

A true blue Bombayite never passes up the opportunity to sample a good Indian especially when it happens to be on a cold and grey autumn evening in London. The occasion? To experience fine dining Indian with the newly relaunched menu and fabulously refurbished interiors with the Zomato London folks.

Bombay Brasserie is something of an institution. It's a beautiful restaurant near Gloucester Road serving classic Indian dishes. I went along a couple of weeks ago to check it out post its recent refurb, and when I put a picture up on Instagram a friend commented that Bombay Brasserie was her grandpa's favourite restaurant, and that he took them there about 20 years ago for a meal for a special occasion! It opened in 1982 and has been going strong ever since. Owned by same group as Quilon this is the more affordable but no less impressive little sister restaurant, and one you should definitely check out if you want to eat exquisite Indian food in beautiful surroundings. We started our evening with a drink, naturally, before going on a behind the scenes tour of the kitchen, prep area, and tandoor ovens. It was a fascinating insight into the workings of a restaurant, and the chefs swooped around us, carrying on with their business as if there weren't an extra 15 or so people blocking up their kitchen!

Indian food is something I definitely need to explore more of in London. The first thing that comes to my mind is Brick Lane – cheap, tasty and cheerful. For a more special occasion though there are plenty to choose from, Bombay Brasserie in Gloucester Road is one of them. The restaurant is literally outside of Gloucester Road station yet somewhat easy to miss. Bombay Brasserie has recently reopened after being refurbished.

Almost everytime I go out for a meal with a group of people, someone always bring up the question of “what’s your favourite wine” or “desert island choice of food?“. I could never pick just one wine but picking only one cuisine to live on for the rest of my days is an easy choice, its Indian. I’m not just saying that for the purpose of this article but for me the cuisine is so diverse compared to all others – you could have a different meal everyday. From the light, delicate dishes of the south, all the way through to the rich and heavy North Indian Bangladeshi dishes. Indian cuisine offers diversity, flavour and lots of intrigue – so for me I couldn’t think of anything else I’d rather eat everyday.

There are few meals I remember from twenty years or so ago.  A trip to Bombay Brasserie though, is one such event.  For a start it was the very first time I had ever eaten an Indian meal that didn`t involve chicken korma or tikka masala.  And, in its time it was the height of sophistication, with ceiling fans, beautiful rattan chairs and old pictures showing the days of the Raj.  We feasted on tandoori quail and thought ourselves very grand.

Iconic fine dining Indian restaurant Bombay Brasserie recently announced a relaunch with new menus and freshly designed interiors, and I couldn’t wait to try it out!. First opened in 1982, the new menu at Bombay Brasserie aims to redefine the way in which Indian cuisine is perceived in London, introducing unique cooking techniques like natural coal smoking to infuse a smoky flavour in classic dishes such as Burani raita, and authentic cuisine from diverse regions of the subcontinent.

Bombay Brasserie - a restaurant owned by the Taj group - you can expect nothing but quality. Visited the restaurant several times and can recommend this place for good quality authentic Indian food.

My favourite is the Tandoori Raan (lamb shank Indian style) and the Mango Bellini.

There is just one huge drawback to this place - they do a buffet over weekends and for specific events. Having tried the buffet on several occasions I have got bored of this place. So I would suggest for you to take a pick from the al a carte menu. The food quality is significantly better than in the buffet.

I have mixed feelings about the decor: I love one part that is light and airy. It almost feels like you've been transported back to someone's courtyard in India. The other part is dark, dingy with dark patterned carpet.

Overall dining experience has always been positive.

I visited this place to have some nice Indian food during my vacation to London and realized the huge difference between the Indian food served in the US and the Indian food served in London. Very quiet, spacious, and extravagant, Bombay Brasserie is a high-end Indian restaurant. The meal, ambience and overall experience was truly enjoyable!. My favorite dish has to be the Dhaal Makhni and Chaana Masala although the various chaats offered as starters are also delicious!. Overall, my meal at Bombay Brasserie made me nostalgic of eating back home in North India, with the aroma of Indian spices surrounding the air. Furthermore, to add onto this experience,, the service was very good, with polite waiters who were always ready to help! The capacity of the restaurant is  large, with a bar area and two other rooms with seating for dining. Finding a table should not be an issue however, for large groups, it would be wise to make a booking in advance to avoid any disappointment. The meal as expected was quite expensive coming to approximately £50 per person although some alcoholic beverages as well as desserts were ordered, which definitely made the experience a little more expensive!

Bombay Brasserie offers quality Indian cuisine in a classic and rich setting; sofas, cushioned arm chairs and old paintings make it a traditional setting.

The food comes well presented and in good sized portions. Menu standouts include: achari paneer tikka, seekh kebab and lamb chops. The chops are very tender and marinated well, full of flavour.

I love the prawn tak-a-tak too - a grilled dish with a mixture of onions and spices. Nicely cooked, juicy prawns.

The waiters are very polite and helpful, service is fast too!

Bombay Brasserie offers fine indian food in a very grand setting right in Glouscester Road

The food evolves around the tandoori oven such as the grill meats and fish, curries and vegetarian dishes… When I go have Indian food I always go for the classic combination for me

After ordering a plate of mini papadums are served with spiced tomato sauce… A good start…

But the restaurant was empty leaving me doubt on whether the food was good or not.. So then let see what I have…

First the chicken tikka mahkela or butter chicken with garlic naan

Butter chicken is nice, mild, creamy and slightly acidic but lacks that a little hint of spice to a wonderful aroma to the dish but the chicken was juicy and tender

Follow by tandoori tikka lamb chops and plain naan

The lamb were really delicious… Pack full of flavours and the amount of spice is just right… The marinade penetrated the meat really well… A really good dish..

The plain naan are the perfect condiment to it, thin and delicious but the garlic naan was too thick and heavy and overloaded with garlic that it turns the whole thing quite bitter..

Bombay Brasserie is a decent indian restaurant but at the price they offer I expected more.. It was good but not great..

Visited Bombay Brasserie with my wife for an afternoon brunch. The brunch has a separate menu and it costs 60 pounds a head. Theo is located near Gloucester Road tube station and when you come out the station turn right into Courtfield Close and the restaurant is right there The place is very well decorated with some pictures from India from what I would say is British Raj The place caters a wide variety of mock tails and cocktails so worth checking and ordering it The service is spot on and yeh you are well looked after We had the pleasure of the Main Chef Sriram cooking when we attended and I am sure the standards are same when he is not there. The food was very delicious and as it was a buffet brunch we helped ourselves to a lot of various dishes. Dishes which we never try As a vegetarian I was bit worried as when you look at the menu it is not really clear what the veg dishes are I didn’t had to worry they were spot on I had some idly chutney Managalore Goli Baje (if you had the original this is no where near it but is a nice touch) rice, Dal Makanai, some potatoes, curd rice, bisi belabath and Nan bread o should have ordered one, but ordered two and it was too much There was papadoms was nice and the mango chutney was slightly spicy but nice We missed the deserts as there was no space in my tummy (haha) Lovely place and I would definitely recommend it Three cheers to the staff and chef in there We will be back :) Thank you

Bombay Brassiere Restaurant Review. I recently attended a medical school friends' reunion at Bombay Brasserie, and boy was it a blast! It was like a scene out of Grey's Anatomy, but with way more naan bread and biryani . Bombay Brassiere in London is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant's atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated, making it an ideal place for a special evening out. The attentive waiters provide excellent service, frequently topping up drinks and refilling glasses throughout the meal. For starters, the herb crusted prawns are a must-try. The prawns are perfectly cooked and seasoned with a delicious herb crust. The bhutta kebabs are also a standout dish, with tender and flavourful corn tikkis. The Sev Puri, Bhel Puri, and Pani Puri are all delicious and flavourful street food-style starters that provide a great introduction to Indian cuisine. Moving on to the mains, the lamb dum biryani is a highlight dish, with tender and succulent pieces of lamb cooked to perfection and served on a bed of fragrant basmati rice. The Murgh Kali mirch masala is another standout dish, with succulent chicken cooked in a spicy black pepper sauce. For vegetarians, the Kamal kakdi kofta and Vegetable chilli kurchan are must-try dishes. The Ennai kathrika and Kadhi pakodi are also excellent vegetarian options that are full of flavour. To end the meal on a sweet note, the desserts at Bombay Brassiere are outstanding. The Gulab jamun cheesecake is a unique twist on the traditional Indian dessert, with a creamy cheesecake filling and the addition of syrupy gulab jamun. The Golden apricot kheer and Shahi tukda are also delicious dessert options. The chief chef Sudhir has managed to turn each dish into a concoction of flavour, aroma and fabulous taste.Assisstant manager Bernardo Pires went an extra mile to offer us one of the best services ! The food at Bombay Brasserie was the perfect accompaniment to our trip down memory lane. The lamb biryani was so good, I think I heard one of my friends say they were willing to give up their stethoscope for a lifetime supply of it. Overall, it was a day filled with laughter, good food, and even better company. If only all medical emergencies could be solved over a plate of delicious Indian cuisine!

I seldom had such an emotional reaction to food, as I had it here. The dishes seem simple, because they don't pretend to be fancy, yet are cooked with such attention to taste and texture that it feels like it's not supposed to be this good, resulting in an overwhelmingly blissful experience. Paired with a timelessly classy environment and the most attentive staff I've experienced in a while makes this visit a core memory in the making. Thank you to all!

My most recent experience was the lunch Mogo chips 😕 cassava chips are meant to be softer Pani puri 😍 no chick peas fortunately (I don’t like chick peas in my puri, I like moong sprouts instead thus these are perfect). The water was sooo delicious! Tasted very authentic Masala fries 😍 delicious fries sprinkled with a bit of Chaat masala, sanchar (black salt), chill powder etc Sev puri 😍 not sure why this was so good but it just was Bhel puri 😊 great, but nothing compared to the sev puri Salty and mango lassi 😍 salty lassi tastes like chaas (buttermilk). Alternatively, mango lassi is ideal if you’re looking for something sweet A pasta plate 🙁 not sure why they even served it or had it on the menu Dahi rice with tadka 🙁 not my personal favourite Mains Aubergine matar 😍 best main ever Palak paneer 😊 another great dish. Very soft paneer Kadhi 😊 Dal makhani 😊 they removed dal makhani from the buffet menu, but we ordered it from Al carte. I used to love it, but felt it lacked a bit of salt Desserts Gulab jamun 😍 hard to go wrong with it. It’s slightly less sweet compared to some of the other ones I’ve had (still super sweet though) but I love that! Chocolate mousse with carrot tarte 😍 everyone loved the mousse! The carrot tart doesn’t necessarily pair well with the chocolate mousse but I liked it anyway (wouldn’t re-order the tart though) Malai kulfi 😍 beautiful presentation and delicious! Many times better than the mango kulfi 😶 which no one seemed to enjoy as much Birthday sponge cake 😊 mixed it with a bit of malai kulfi from earlier and loved it Ras malai 😍 if you like ras gulla you will love this Nice ambience. Good service. Love it!

I recently dined at this remarkable Indian food restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolutely enchanting culinary journey! Having savored dishes at numerous Michelin-starred establishments in my lifetime, this gem of a restaurant effortlessly stands out. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by a warm and inviting staff whose hospitality added a delightful touch to the entire experience. They truly understand the art of making guests feel at home. The attention to detail in every aspect was simply impeccable. The ambiance exuded an authentic Indian charm, transporting me to the heart of the subcontinent. The décor was thoughtfully curated, and the soft strains of traditional music added an ethereal touch. Now, onto the pièce de résistance—the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. The chef's expertise and creativity shone brightly through every plate. It was evident that they had meticulously crafted each dish to perfection. While I relished every bite, I couldn't help but compare the fish curry to those I've had in my coastal hometown. It was delicious, no doubt, but being from a coastal area, I couldn't help but have high expectations. Perhaps a tad more intensity in the flavors would have made it truly outstanding. Nevertheless, this is a restaurant that has set new standards for Indian cuisine, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable gastronomic adventure. It's a culinary haven that combines the best of India's rich traditions with a modern twist, and I eagerly look forward to my next visit!

Superb We had our dinner in the middle of September 2020 just before the 10pm restriction. That was my firs time dining at Bombay Brasserie and definitely I’ll be back. Before we went there I read few of the recent reviews and I was a bit sceptical as people were not very happy with the service but I must say our night was absolutely fabulous, special the service. We were straggling with the parking space and one of the waiters were very helpful and he give us advice where to park the car. Food was delicious and we have been looked after very well. One more thing, the interior design is absolutely fabulous.
