Excellent Indian restaurant. The food is great and there's a huge range of choices. The setting is really cosy and traditional. Staff are friendly and attentive. Very reasonably priced for this part of London.

It was on my list of "things to do in London", to eat at an Indian restaurant and I think I found the best one! The food was absolutely amazing, a lot of vegan options like always in Indian restaurants and a really professional service. Another pleasant surprise were the prices! Really good prices if you compare with the London prices that in my opinion are way to high. This restaurant has a lot of history, it was opened right after the WWII and it stayed in the same family sins then. We has a great evening with the family and some friends!

Been here before and so wanted to comeback! Food is really good ,the prices are really decent so I strongly recommend the restaurant. Went with a friend for dinner before theatre and it was worth it,the prawn biryani and a side veggie dish was delicious and filling!

The food was tasty and I loved their service. The person who served us was very quick and he has a different swag in serving food. I was just looking at his speed of doing work until my food arrives. I asked his name when I was about leave after completing my dinner and his name is Santana. Good job brother you are superb. Overall good experience and by the way it's my birthday today. Thanks for serving greatly.

A London institution and reliable option in the center of town. Punjab has been around for ages and for good reason - the food is consistent and comforting, service is no nonsense, and you know what you’re going to get. I guess that’s also the restaurant’s downfall - nothing is really outstanding, and the mad rush of people at dinner time means you get very little attention, often after a long wait in line just to get a table. The dishes themselves come out quickly once you’re seated, though, and there’s lots of veggie and non-spicy options too - we had lamb curry, baingan bharta, and palak paneer, as well as roti, rice and chai. We also had some very yummy carrot halwa for dessert. The one disappointment was the samosas - the pastry case was stale and bready rather than the flaky shortcrust one expects. As for the atmosphere, the design is vintage but clean, and while the service is efficient, it’s not particularly kind, and the staff don’t bother much with making small talk or recommendations. This might suit some people just fine, but it made us feel rushed. I’d definitely come back, but I wouldn’t stay long.

Mind blowing food. We were in London for leisure and went to Punjab for our lunch on the two days we were there. We tried their specialities - Kali dal, Paneer Butter masala, Achari Gosht and Amristari Chhole as main dishes and the taste was extraordinary. On top of it, the best tandoori roti I have ever had!! The atmosphere was nice and there were some old hindi songs playing in the background when we were there. Coincidentally, the 2nd time we also met the owners of the restaurant who were very warm and friendly people. No wonder the food is amazing as well 😍 My compliments to the chef. Highly recommended if you are in London and want good Indian food!

Cosy restaurant. Was seated quite quickly despite the place being full. The staff were very attentive and provided good recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed the butter chicken, nann and rice which were prepared traditionally. The owner was sitting at the table next to me and took the time to come and talk to me as I was by myself. He explained the history of the restaurant and the authenticity of the food. He also recommended other restaurants in the area as it was my first time in London. Highly recommend. Best dining experience I’ve had in London.

Authentic North Indian food at Camden area - service is good, the server arranged seating in a more quiet area for us to enjoy our dinner (away from the noisy side). Food is tasty and not oily/overly thick gravy. Chicken Tikka on fire display is a first I have experienced - really enjoy the experience.

Indian restaurant in the heart of London serving authentic Indian , Punjabi and Pakistani , Sindhi dishes . . Service was very quick and the atmosphere inside was great. Food in my palate was mediocre. I’ve had better flavourful Indian food elsewhere. I ordered Achari Murgh and I couldn’t get that Achar aroma in the dish. Most of the chicken dishes we ordered were made of the sour tomato base and tasted more or less same . Grandad’s dal was good . I should try the dishes again sometime on a less busy day and see whether that makes any difference
