Really cool old pub that has been open for a couple hundred years. It still had that old feel to it, the basement is especially cool, with its low ceilings and old timey vibes. Great little tourist destination. An average selection of beers but not a great selection of cider or wines.

Fish and chips are one of my favorites in London. Samuel Smith Lager is quite tasty too.

We loved this spot! Recommended to me by a coworker for its true English pub fill! And it did just that. You can feel centuries of history in there as you go to their creepy but awesome dungeon or overlook the city from the big windows on the top floor. There's a bar in each location so you don't have to move much. Food stops at 4pm which was a bummer but the liquid bread definitely filled us.

I had been wanting to go to Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese for a while to participate in the history of the place. It was so cool to think through how many people had sat in the pub, enjoyed a pint, fish and chips, and great conversation with good friends. The experience did not disappoint and the food and drinks were both tasty.

Fantastic historic pub with so many areas to sit and enjoy a beer. Haven’t had a meal here (£17 for a burger is a bit steep for me) but as a proper old pub experience, this is highly recommended.

The one thing this pub has in spades is history. The atmosphere is seductively gloomy while surprisingly inviting. Loved it.

Great historic pub. Lots of history and photos. Pub is a Samuel Smith, if you like that beer.

Visited on a Wednesday evening and sat downstairs - loved the underground vibes and twisty turns and hallways. Ordered a couple beers and hung out for a while. Before the kitchen closed, we ordered some fries (they said they were out of fish & chips). However, the kitchen forgot we ordered and closed down. So we waited 45+ minutes for fries - and they were also apparently out of ketchup.
Servers weren't always available and hid behind a door - didn't answer or come out even when we knocked for them.
Would visit again and recommend based on atmosphere, but the service could've been better.

Great spot for a pint. Cool building with multiple levels and lots of seating. Beers are good, didn’t get to try any food/snacks. Atmosphere is awesome!

Spooky, slightly smelly, but undeniably medieval, this pub was absolutely incredible if you want authentically old London 1700’s style pub. I do know it’s on London oldest pub tours, and I was absolutely blown away at the multi level sexy spooky atmosphere. Bring pals and a date you want to impress with dim lighting in the city of London.
