Poppies Fish & Chips - London - Photo album

Ever since I got to try out their fish & chips in their Camden Town branch years back, Poppies had since become my favourite go to restaurant for fish and chips. I visited this branch in Aug 2022 for the very first time and it didn't disappoint. The food here is just as good and the interior design
Good fish & chips, very yummy sticky toffee pudding, old school deli feel. We tried their jellied eel, seafood platter, Haddock & chips. All seafood is fresh and nicely fried, with thick chunky chips. Ended the meal with a pudding each, which we enjoyed. Recommended.
We arrived at Poppie’s around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and the kitchen was open: great. They served us the classical Haddock fish & chips. The fish was tender and fresh, crispy on the outside. The chips were just bad but had a good tartar sauce.
Nice little restaurant that has lots of fish items on the menu. It is a USA 1950s like diner and music. The food was good but a tad higher than what we’ve been paying in other places for similar food and drinks.
Great Fish and Chips! Great atmosphere! Service was great! I ordered the large Cod with fries my wife got the haddock. I read a few reviews saying not enough tartar sauce and the servers aren't very attentive so I combatted it by ordering extra tartar and 2 drinks and had a wonderful meal. Three
Another nice and cosy place for Fish and Chips. Had Cod and chips, which met expectations but the price has gone up a bit. Service is prompt and excellent. Wished there’s more tartar sauce. Would return again.
Good greeting staff and generous portions. Poppies feels like an institution of a fish and chips restaurant that is loved by locals. I was able to get a table without wait and my food arrived in 5 minutes. It was nice to see and the condiments and spices and sauces already on the table. The fish wa
Ordered the infamous jellied eels and a cod and chips. The difference between the haddock and cod is as described by the staff: the former is more flavourful. The large fish and chips is also much more economical to share. As for the jellied eels, if I'm honest, they may be worth trying but in gen
Great fish and chips in a great atmosphere. My husband ordered large cod and I had the large haddock. Soooo good. I have only ever had baaaad mushy peas (in canada) and was delighted to try them here- definitely fresh and hearty- we also ordered a Steak Pie and it reminded me of my grandmothers cook
Went to this place for brunch on a Saturday. I tried the fried cod fish and chips. The food was really good. The place good a really ambience and atmosphere. The service was okay and food was served on time. The resturent is located at very popular area and finding parking can be difficult depend on
Visited London after 20 plus years and one of the things I wanted to have was a typical British fish and chips. I was warned of the dearth of what was the norm while I was a resident in London. And they were right. I found ne corner corner chippie but but sort of a harrowing experience. Ultimately o
We stopped at Poppies for a quick lunch of fish & chips and were not disappointed. Service was fast and the food very good for the price and better than that served by some fancier places; the atmosphere is what you would expect, not fancy or romantic, but very convenient.
That's the place! Looks like a combo of classic american diner and British place at the same time. Stylish staff, nice old-school design and good food. I have chosen a fish from the first line and that was a good choice. Thank you for inspiration and nice fish 'n cheeps.
The restaurant is nice and the service is relatively fast. The fish and chips were delicious. We ordered the traditional fried fish and also the fish cakes. There was also additional salt, pepper and ketchup on the table.
Really cool dining experience for an authentic English fish and chips! The calamari was good too. Slightly pricey compared to the usual but the ambiance and location make up for it. Service was friendly and quick! Toilets could have been cleaner. Would recommend if you’re in the area.
Simply loved the deco of the restaurant! Felt like being brought back to the 70-80s era 🤩. The fish is extremely fresh, crispy on the outside and yet tender in the inside. 😍
This is place is an institution in Spitalfields. Fish and chips met our expectations. Good service. Classic fish and chips + mashed peas
Me and my family (3 person) ordered the calamari and chips for snack/brunch, and it was more than expected!! The taste was decent and price was affordable. Didn’t try the fish, but seems like the store is well-known for the fish&chips. It is also cheaper if you take-out than eating in. Overall, like
