Excellent fish and chips! The site was so well decorated. Congrats
A quite busy place (but with a very lovely atmosphere, great decorations and a really nice staff) serving the best Fish&Chips (even packed in a newspaper!) in London. You’ll love it! ♥️

If you want to taste authentic fish and chips , then poppies is your destination. Small place, always full, the smell is nice, portions are big and the taste great. And at the end some candies. Highly recommended
Some say it’s the best fish and chips in london. It was good but the battered sausage was much better would recommend that instead.
Portion sizes are big so shareee
It was a great coincidence for us that the restourant was managed by the people where we are coming from :) we tried fried haddock and cod fish, it was quite big and filling. Even it was fried, it wasnt that heavy and oily. They served green pea - not remember exact name- together with fish. Suggest u to try
Interiors and decorations is very good .decor is excellent I love there sea food platter . ambiance is very good staff service is good
One of the best place for fast food in brick lane london
Love the decor! Strong vintage feel and unpretentious. Food wise: liking the hot seafood platter a lot (esp whitebait and scampi) as for the fish, to me they’re okay but not as tasty as those other two.
Really love this place. The food was very good, the staff was very helpful.
Order a fish and chips and came really quickly.
Love the decorationand the music.
Good relation price/quality.
Definitly a place to come back.
The prices here in zomato are not the real ones, everything is 1/2 £ more expensive that the prices that are showed here.
Good environment, really nice decor! The food comes really fast and it's really good! Normally, I'm not a fan of Fish&Chips, but I really digged this one!
Ever since I got to try out their fish & chips in their Camden Town branch years back, Poppies had since become my favourite go to restaurant for fish and chips. I visited this branch in Aug 2022 for the very first time and it didn't disappoint. The food here is just as good and the interior design is full of character. The waiters were very friendly and even showed me the entire ground floor area as well as the basement, giving me more photo taking opportunity which I truly appreciate. It was a very pleasant experience where me n my partner were able to immerse ourselves in another world of delicious authentic English fish & chips as well as surrounded by all the charming little objects on display. Can't wait to go back again the next time I'm in London.
Good fish & chips, very yummy sticky toffee pudding, old school deli feel.
We tried their jellied eel, seafood platter, Haddock & chips. All seafood is fresh and nicely fried, with thick chunky chips. Ended the meal with a pudding each, which we enjoyed.
Recommended.
We arrived at Poppie’s around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and the kitchen was open: great. They served us the classical Haddock fish & chips. The fish was tender and fresh, crispy on the outside. The chips were just bad but had a good tartar sauce.
Nice little restaurant that has lots of fish items on the menu. It is a USA 1950s like diner and music. The food was good but a tad higher than what we’ve been paying in other places for similar food and drinks.
Great Fish and Chips! Great atmosphere! Service was great!
I ordered the large Cod with fries my wife got the haddock.
I read a few reviews saying not enough tartar sauce and the servers aren't very attentive so I combatted it by ordering extra tartar and 2 drinks and had a wonderful meal.
Three tartar was perfect for 2 large orders of fish and chips.
We wanted to share with each other but enjoyed the meal so much we didnt end up sharing!
You must order the sticky toffee putting 10/10 was perfect. I would have licked the plate clean if the restaurant wasn't so full.
We had to wait for two other couples ahead of us due to the amount of turnover they have. Good food expect to have to wait. Probably why the servers can't aren't as attentive as some of the other restaurants.
The price was higher forsure but still worth is.
If I were to go back I'd probably just order what I knew was good fish and chips and sticky toffee putting!
Mushy peas and steak pie were good but as expected nothing to write home about.
Another nice and cosy place for Fish and Chips. Had Cod and chips, which met expectations but the price has gone up a bit. Service is prompt and excellent. Wished there’s more tartar sauce. Would return again.
Good greeting staff and generous portions.
Poppies feels like an institution of a fish and chips restaurant that is loved by locals. I was able to get a table without wait and my food arrived in 5 minutes. It was nice to see and the condiments and spices and sauces already on the table. The fish was very big and the batter was very crispy and the fish was very soft. The chips were thick and crunchy but soft on the inside. The food stayed hot for a good amount of time. A very good fish and chips.
Ordered the infamous jellied eels and a cod and chips. The difference between the haddock and cod is as described by the staff: the former is more flavourful. The large fish and chips is also much more economical to share.
As for the jellied eels, if I'm honest, they may be worth trying but in general may not be worth 10 quid to most. They are chunks that are bone-in and very tender. But they are served cold and the combination of the taste may not suit many.
All in all, worth a visit, but you are certainly paying a premium for the styling of the venue.
Great fish and chips in a great atmosphere. My husband ordered large cod and I had the large haddock. Soooo good. I have only ever had baaaad mushy peas (in canada) and was delighted to try them here- definitely fresh and hearty- we also ordered a Steak Pie and it reminded me of my grandmothers cooking- so good. The real winner was the sticky toffee pudding. It was a great experience overall and I would love to come back.

Went to this place for brunch on a Saturday. I tried the fried cod fish and chips. The food was really good. The place good a really ambience and atmosphere. The service was okay and food was served on time. The resturent is located at very popular area and finding parking can be difficult depend on the day.
