Visited the place a couple of weeks ago when we were looking for a nice quick brunch only to find out that the gas was not working (or something of the sort) but rather than leaving disappointed, the waiter handed us a 25% discount on our next visit. A thing that certainly made me come back. And that happened today. We munched on good quality olives before my beef burger arrived. The burger was fine (although I found the meat to be a bit too hard, however it just might be me), but the fries that came with it were just magnificent. The best fries I have ever had. Not only we used our 25% discount, we also got a complimentary drinks on the house before departure. I must say I left very satisfied and will be coming back again.

My husband and I went there for dinner last night and we are definitely going back again. The food was amazing, we had the platter for 2 and squid for entree, then the tuna and steak for main. We were so full but only ordered dessert to see if they could keep up the same standard (which they did!) I don't know why it took us too long to finally go there but we have now found our favourite local! Would highly recommend it.

London friends of mine took me to this wonderful little restaurant near their home in Highbury. I had come from my home from Yorkshire. It was a treat to find such an unpretentious friendly restaurant in London where the food was excellent and not overpriced. I had the best tuna I have had since a trip to Bali some years ago! Try it and enjoy!

This place is now a hidden gem, yet soon a popular and adorable place for good food lovers. A 2-course menu from around 10 pounds with classy decoration showcasing minimalism. Chips are always hard to be done good. Yet this one excels in handing crispy textures. Fresh ingredients always make good food. Kept seeing guys holding bags of fresh good going in and out. Good service - details being taken care without feeling disturbed.

I was a fan of the old restaurant on this site, Piccolo Sogno, and was sorry to see it go, so when 129HRD opened I felt it had a lot to live up to. Fortunately, I wasn't disappointed! My first visit was for lunch with a friend, and the food was so good I just had to come back to see what it was like in the evening. And to my delight it was even better! I can't praise the food highly enough (and I'm usually quite critical) - the heritage carrots were to die for! And the service is exceptional! The owner is very keen to explain all about the restaurant ; it's history, the origins of the food, his own background etc, so all in all it made for a wonderful evening. This is an excellent addition to the local eateries in Holloway Road and it really deserves to do well. I very much hope that it sticks around longer than its predecessor....so please go and give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing new restaurant. Food was presented beautifully and tastes incredible. The dishes were delivered with an explanation on how the were cooked etc.The food is reasonably priced. I eat out a lot and I can honestly say this is now one of my favourites, so lucky to have it close by.Luxury comes to Holloway Road. Elton made us feel so welcome, even though it's not a big restaurant the intimacy was lovely. Definitely a place to go you will be amazed.
