Amazing dinner. After rave reviews from friends I finally took the plunge and dined at the Wet Fish with a few friends on a Wednesday night. It was lucky we reserved a table because the place was buzzing, it's obviously a favourite with West Hampstead's locals.
Although the staff were very busy we were greeted warmly and encouraged to try some of their delicious cocktails (tip- try the WFC Martini) while we waited for a friend.
We shared a starter- crispy squid and went on to have a main course each. I ordered the organic salmon with wild rice which came perfectly cooked and seemed rather healthy too. Friends ordered the tempura battered cod which was a modern spin on a national favorite, and the fillet steak (at 8oz my friend described it as 'the rolls royce of steaks).
The meals came in a timely manner and quite frankly, were delicious. With such a promising start we decided to finish with the warm soft chocolate cake which, as a chocolate lover, didn't fail to impress.
All in all we had a fabulous time and I wouldn't hesitate to
recomend to anybody who wants something a bit special. The atmosphere was lovely- low lighting and vibey music provided an intimate setting and the staff made us feel looked after and very special indeed.
We will be back !

Best of London. The Wet Fish Cafe is my new favourite place to eat in London! Went for dinner last night with my girlfriend. I ordered the Crayfish Cocktail to start which was delicious, followed by the Fillet Steak, which is to die for. I have never had a steak that melted in mouth and is full of flavour until last night! My girlfriend had the Superfood Salad to start, which was a treat for the eyes and taste buds, followed by the Tempura Battered Cod, which was out of this world and I'm sure will become a signature dish. We both shared the famous Hot Chocolate Cake... it really lived up to it's status. The service was very friendly and efficient. We were made to feel as if we were dinning at a friend's house. The lighting and subtle music created a relaxed an intimate atmosphere. The Wet Fish Cafe is one of London's little treasures hiding in idyllic West Hampstead. I would definitely recommend it.

Very good indeed!. We went for a special evening with friends and the staff had prepared a personalised menu for us. The food and wine was all delicious and the staff could not have been better - friendly and attentive but also knew when to leave us be. This was the first time we had eaten there but I got the impression they have managed something very difficult and created not just a place to go for a special occasion, but is also great for a more low-key evening out.

Had a really great meal and a gluten free pudding!. I ate a three course meal at the wet fish cafe the other week and was extremely impressed by not only how nice the atmosphere was, but also how attentive and friendly the staff were. The food is delicious and a really exciting menu which you don't often get. I had an amazing homemade spicy lentil soup and then pan fried cod on black rice with spinich and vierge sauce. It's so refreshing to order something which is completely different that what you have had before, it really makes it worth eating out. The absolute bonus on the meal however was that they even had a gluten free chocolate cake I could eat for pudding (i'm allergic to wheat). Which never happens, I always have to skip pudding! Would definitely recommend a visit and I will definitely be visiting again soon!

Love it. The Wet Fish Cafe has been a favourite of mine for years for the perfect place to meet a friend for coffee and a small bite to eat.

When I was treated to a three course meal at The Wet Fish cafe I wasn't disappointed either. The service was excellent - as were the personalised menus which were a lovely surprise! I had the gravalax to start with and although the horse radish creme fresh was a little hot to my liking it was still super tasty and I would definitely have it again. For main I had pan-fried cod with sauteed black rice, spinach and vierge sauce which was absolutely delicious! The cod was cooked to perfection and literally melted in my mouth.
For dessert I had cheesecake with pistachio, honey and thyme which was equally good.

I'd highly recommend The Wet Fish Cafe. The atmosphere is fab too. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in London.

The best place ing London. I love the wet fish. The atmosphere and music are great. The food is even better, and I'm VERY fussy when it comes to eating. The mulled wine is the best I've ever had. If I go out for brunch/lunch in West Hampstead and there isn't a table at the wet fish then I just go home...

Food filled with virtues. A cafe with a quirky gormet twist. A feast of bold colours and generous gestures driven by the desire to celebrate food and its virtues- quite out of the ordinary and splendid in its ambience and decandence ..

Visited many times, always nice to have the feeling of a home cooked balanced meal. Quality of ingredients is always exceptional - super fresh. Usually come for brunch or lunch but came for dinner tonight. The battered haddock wasn’t quite my cuppa tea however. The batter wasn’t light and crispy, more hard and chewy. The potatoes and veg side were very overwhelming flavour wise and didn’t really gel. However, the mussels and scallops starters were 10/10. The wine selection is great. Unfortunately the service tends to be on the slow side and it is an incredibly expensive little place, even by West Hampstead standards. Definitely worth stopping by for a hearty meal at dinner time or more interesting brunch/lunch option. The period art deco interior is stunning.

A great little Sunday brunch spot! I really enjoyed the French Toasted Brioche, and my wife enjoyed the avocado and feta on sourdough toast, and the hot chocolate was also dark and rich. And a great sign outside too!

Never fails to deliver and was extra special due to the amazing live performance by Liv East. Scallops were amazing. Pink spritz and the wines were yummy. Love this little West Hampstead gem x

Honestly one of the best places for amazing freshly caught fish-based dishes in West Hampstead. The food tastes Michelin starred but is still amazingly great value. Been here several time with the most recent for our mum’s birthday. Just phenomenal. My partner and I had the 3 courses and she had the 2 while we all shared desserts. We even got a delicious complementary small starter! Sad I forgot to get a picture of the main (WTF2 which was an amazing coconut pollock dish over grains) but below are the incredible scallops with beetroot starter and exceptional Crème brûlée. The service was absolutely fab too with extremely funny and friendly staff. Each dish was truly an experience and we will be sure to be back again soon! 💕

We absolutely loved our dinner here! We had a lovely wine suggestion from our server and she was so kind all night. The fish we ordered didn’t have much seasoning but it was cooked to perfection and, when eaten with the sauce and mash, was delightful.

Had a lovely dinner here. Mussels and salmon were delicious. The soup was unexpectedly bitter.
