5.5 stars. Whatever you're doing right now, I highly urge you to stop it and get on an airplane and go to Vinoteca. I'm an optimist but I'm a bit tough on restaurants in some ways. But, hear this... This food was incredible. The service was adequate but not especially attentive or helpful. But, who cares. They did their job, and the food was ffffffffffuuuuuuhhhhhhhnnnnnnahminal! The cucumber salad was scrumptious, the duck app was succulant, the turbot sublime. Is there a more powerful word available? Well, then use that one. The caramel desert was so good I wanted to open a theme park about it. My taste buds were saying adjectives they never even knew existed! This place makes me want to move to London (which is not exactly known for great food). Amazing. If you live in London, shame on you if you haven't been. For me, the only thing wrong with this dinner was the fact that my wife wasn't with me. Oh, and also that I ate in my hotel the night before. I should have eaten here every night. You must eat here. Period. In the middle of a business trip, I took the time to write this. Because, this food is that good.

Surprisingly loud and bustling!. Came here for a friend's hen do (very civilised!) and thought the food was pretty good - very generous portions! And the visible kitchen area in the corner was a nice touch as the room would fill up with the aroma of steaks cooking. Mmm. The wine list is huuuuge and they have prosecco on tap! Cheeky, friendly staff. It's a tad on the expensive side, but what do you expect from a wine bar.

Sublime. Although bigger than it's older sister in Farringdon it still maintains the same great atmosphere, good food and brilliant wine list. The lack of reservations in the evening enables you to sample even more of their fantastic wine list. Highly recommended.

Don't order a bottle of the ice cider without checking the price first!. Had a fantastic family lunch here a couple of Saturdays ago, me ol mucker Will is the Guv in the kitchen so we knew we were in for a treat. We were greeted by a friendly chap at the door and shown to our table. He then asked if we fancied a drink, I had already read about the ice cider they stock from the vinoteca blog, so being "Charlie big balls" I decided to order a bottle for us all to share. It was only later when I checked in the wine list that it is £45 a bottle! Oh well, it was utterly delicious anyhow. To start
we shared a plate of fried mackerel with ginger and soy dressing ( an old Rowley Leigh stalwart, but I think Will's has the edge) and some crubbeens with sauce gribiche and a little watercress. The crubbeens were unctuous and piggy with a fantastic crisp coating, the gribiche cutting things nicely.
We followed with the bavette, chips and horseradish and she had the braised featherblade of beef, parmesan mash and green sauce. The bavette was juicy, chewy, and wonderfully flavoured with that slight hint of offal, super crisp chips and nose bleed horseradish were exceptional. The featherblade was "fall off the fork" tender and was redolent of garlic, bay, thyme and oodles of red wine, gorgeous. To finish, I was sent an omelette Arnold Bennet as a savoury, great pearly chunks of smoked haddock, waxy new potatoes and a smidgeon of lovage all enrobed in a perfectly mollet omelette...WOW! Although stuffed before the omelette I could have eaten it again it was so good.
Maybe a slightly biased review due to the connection with the Chef, but I know what I likes and I likes this a lot!

I had this meal on Tuesday, 19th of February. I know that because I took the menu and put it in my bag. It was a long-awaited get-together for some friends who are also clients or clients are also friends or a bit of both I’m not quite sure which but I’m inordinately fond of both of them and we wanted to go somewhere relaxing, mid-priced and with a decent wine list. Because we all had to have something different, we all did. I had cauliflower cheese & garlic toast. The cauliflower was still crunchy, which I can live with, but the cheese sauce was not strong enough – I like a sharp bite to it or a bit of mustard – I am a stripping the skin off the roof of your mouth cheddar cheese fan and the garlic toast was, however rather overpowering. It was a little too raw and the blandness of the cauliflower was lost behind i

A few weeks ago I was invited to check out the build of the new Vinoteca in Marylebone. The aim of the visit was for Vinoteca to show us their new bag in box wine concept. Now, while they know that this is by no means a new concept, they want to prove to us that you can get really good quality wine in the boxes. We were able to try all of the wines and they were all very good. My favourite was the White. They are sold by the bottle and are priced at around (I say around because I can't remember the exact p

I love the original , and now I love the new one. Vinoteca has opened a new branch in Marylebone . It's just off Edgeware Road near where, incidentally, I recently discovered the gastronomic joy that is shopping at Lebanese grocer, Green Valley . Everything you could ever need to work your way through the Ottolenghi cookbook is right there or, like me, you could buy lots of things you don't need (like a large jar of preserved lemons for just over £1) just because they look pretty. There's also a busy bakery for sweet pastries and cakes. Anyhoo... The concept at Vinoteca Marylebone is the same as at Farringdon . Part wine bar, part restaurant, there's a great selection of wines at reasonable prices, and - if you have to wait for a table, you can browse the floor to ceiling shelves laden with temptation to drink in or take home. The food is rustic and simple, but with a hearty oomph. Each course is matched to one of the 25 wines availab

Vinoteca Marylebone is the sister restaurant of the original Vinoteca wine bar and restaurant in Farringdon. It opened in November last year, but unlike Brawn, the sister restaurant of that other well known wine bar, Terroirs , it has barely registered on the Richter Scale of restaurant openings. I found out about it purely by chance. Thinking I would go to the branch in Farringdon, I stumbled across the details of the Marylebone branch when I went onto the Vinoteca website. Despite the lack of PR fanfare, the restaurant is already doing a thumping trade. It was packed during our visit and justifiable so. Its concept is simple - good, seasonal food, in an ever changing menu, matched with one of the 25 wines that are available by the glass. There are also 280 reasonably priced bottles to choose from. Vinoteca Marylebone is cosy and intimate. It does not take reservations, but there's a bar area to drink at while you wait. Due to the lack of carpeting and rugs on the floor, its only draw

It was a strange experience walking into Vinoteca on Seymour Place and seeing the restaurant practically empty. In the past, whenever I've gone, I've always had to wait at least half an hour due to their 'no reservation' policy. Oh well - I suppose it's the benefit of going the weekend right after New Years Day with most of London still away on vacation.

Vinoteca is an ideal place to go to if you feel like doing an impromptu wine tasting session. They sell wines by the glass which are quite reasonably priced and of course, being a wine bar, they have a rather extensive wine list. It was fun for me to compare the two glasses of white wine that we ordered - a dry Sauvignon from Oisley Thesee and a lovely, honey coloured Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley in France.

And then of course there's the food - there was this dish of snails with pancetta and watercress in a buttery, garlicky sauce which was amazing. I absolutely adore snails and am not grossed out by them at all. I think it's because their texture reminds me of mushrooms - so more familiar than frightening. What I did not enjoy was the Middlewhite pork crackling - much too greasy.

For the mains, we had the grilled Bavette - which came out perfectly medium rare with horseradish and these gigantic chips. Honestly, the chips were bigger than the steak. I found the addition of the horseradish rather strange and unwelcoming with the steak. The other main was grilled sea bass which came with little tiny clementines - a nice combination of flavours. I can't elaborate more on the mains since we had started drinking a bottle of red wine at that point and I may have lost focus on the food! Though what did bring my attention back was dessert - the perfect chocolate fondant - decadent flourless chocolate cake with a gooey, melting middle of dark chocolate combined with some cherry ice cream. Divine!

Vinoteca is a place where you can chill and relax, grab a glass of nice wine 🍷 and spend quality time with your friends, family, business partners. I love the interior design that truly match what it is on offer. Very nice welcoming staff and super energetic music played that gives nice vibe. For sure that’s the place that you’ll like and come back to it while visiting Marylebone area. Cheers 🥂 to the good life 😃

Vinoteca is a great place for wine and dinner! They have an expansive wine collection (with affordable options) and a great menu. I had the vegan bavette and it was so delicious! Two people I was with got the regular bavette and also said it was great. We had the grilled courgette and croquettes to start. Croquettes were to die for. They have outdoor seating options and the big windows open up for an open indoor environment as well!

Not so crowded Monday. The appetizer was coming almost too fast. Smoked mackerel with horseradish, quite good though. The too cold potatoes don't seem to fit here. Main dish were Gnocchi. The goat cheese again little too cold. Gnocchi little over cooked. I had no wine but all the other guest had. Moderate pricing. If you like Stilton, try the Stichelton. Great cheese

Very long list of wines including organic and natural with a nice outdoor table as well. Service is friendly and charcuterie is quite good; all for a reasonable price. Bottles of wine are about 2x retail and glasses of wine are quite varied as well.

My friend and me visited for lunch today, I had the duck liver as a starter from the set menu, and I am so impressed. It was delicious, as everything else. £21 for the set menu is a bargain for the food you serve. We will come back for sure.

Had a wonderful evening. The food was spectacular, fresh and delicious. I am not a chef but found the tapas style dishes inviting. Ordered bits and pieces as suggested by the lady with me. We had a great waitress considering the size of the table. Thank you to the manager who endured my repeated changes in numbers for dinner. The smiles and friendliness of the staff created the roght atmosphere. We did not feel anyone intruded on the table but were always there in case we needed something. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone taking picky eaters to dinner. The wine selection is excellent and includes two of my favourite wine countries outside of France. As much as I love local cusine I truly appreciate a well selected wine list that pairs to internationsl cusine.

Had dinner there last night for a birthday dinner for 12, and it was a really wonderful night. The food was delicious, arrived and quickly and all together + the waiting staff were incredibly attentive and helpful with out being over intrusive. Also had a chat with head chef Simon, what a lovely bloke. Would highly recommend this place.
