A lovely traditional English pub, right on The Strand. We popped in there for some brunch. We started off with some lovely pints - I had an ale from Camden and the other half had a lovely ale. A great start mid morning downing pints!
We then proceeded to order 2 breakfasts a veggie one for me and a full English for my partner.
We couldn’t believe that the English traditional breakfasts were two for £13! Right in the heart of London, these prices were so unbelievably cheap! We loved the breakfasts, very tasty and big portions! The service was great as well. The only thing I would say is that nobody came to take away our dishes after we finished or cleared the table. Excellent food though, great prices and a very traditional English pub decor! Thumbs up!
Tried the fish and chips that were good as all other dishes needed a minimum of 20 minutes to be served. So might not be your best choice if in a hurry. The place itself is nice, location is good. Will come back if I have more time to give a better assessment.
A great location where you can have a beer after watching the Lion King at Lyceum theater. The spot is great and the service is excellent. They have a huge selection of beers.
When it comes to pubs and British food the Wellington is my favorite. We had a slow roast (best i had so far) and fish'n chips and both were quite good. Service was fast too. Recommended!
We had a beer here, on the top. They have a good selection and it was nice to be able to sit and catch up with friends.
The pale ale was good but I had a Stella and then switched to Peroni. Fresh, calorific joy.
It is a really nice spot for having a beer and some food. The environment is also quite nice to chill in the evening. The fish and chips are amazing, same as other snacks.
Nice place to eat in London! In the heart of the theater mile where many musicals take place, on the corner you will find "the Wellington". Below the pub is the restaurant. Although we didn't reserve in advance, the friendly waitress tried to find us a table. The enterieur is inviting and the food excellent, very tasty. Very friendly service. Be aware, the portions are big. We enjoyed the time in "The Wellington" and will be back.
My two friends & I had drinks & food here in July.
The service & atmosphere was great. Found the staff so friendly, they were able to provide recommendations from the menu. One of our party was a vegetarian & she was happy with the choice available to her.
The music in the bar was fantastic & there was a great atmosphere.
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fantastic experience. Also had the chicken mushroom pie which was also amazing
The Wellington offers not only the best fish and chips I ever had but also a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere, perfect for both locals and tourists!
Really beautiful fish and chips here. Must try. Friendly staff beautiful old pub atmosphere. Enjoyed it.
Excellent fish and chips and pie. We had the steak and ale pie this time but will try others next time we are in the area.
The fish was perfectly crispy and the tartar sauce was proper.
We found ourselves at the Wellington after wandering over from Covent Garden and having a look around the area. We were seeing the Lion King at the Lyceum later that evening so it was nice to get our bearings.
We popped in and grabbed a table in the bar (we completely missed the sign for the dining area!) We only wanted a snack and so ordered a portion of loaded chips each. These were triple cooked chips topped with beef brisket and cheddar cheese. I’m not much of a cheese fan so I asked for it to be left off. Interestingly I was asked if I’d like a different cheese, which I wasn’t expecting, but it was nice to be asked.
The food arrived quickly and was some of the nicest chips I’ve had. The beef was so good and mixed in with a little bbq sauce I’m guessing, was just enough to sauce up the chips as well.
When we came back to the theatre later, the place was busy but it’s not hard to see why.
Beautiful pub. Amazing fish and chips. Great beer selection.
Thank you Wellington Pub for looking after us at lunchtime 😋
Scrumptious fish 'n' chips (I know, on a Tuesday!) - proper chips and the fish batter was well-cooked and soft.
That said, the ham, egg and chips, as well as the chicken salads were decent sized portions and enjoyed by all.
Hope to be able to try desserts on next visit.
Pricing on par with other eateries in the area.
Staff were friendly and attentive
Thank you Team Wellington 🌟
